Domo is a cloud-based business management suite that integrates with multiple data sources, including spreadsheets, databases, social media and any existing cloud-based or on-premise software solution. It is suitable for company sizes ranging from small businesses to large enterprises, and is compatible with Windows or Mac platforms, iPad tablets, and also works on mobile devices.

Domo provides both micro- and macro-level visibility and analysis; from cash balances and top-selling product lines to forecasted revenue by region, marketing return on investment (ROI) by channel, and more. It offers real-time dashboards with data pertaining to multiple business areas and performance metrics (e.g., key performance indicators, ROI, etc.). Domo also offers interactive visualization tools and instant access to company-wide data via a centralized dashboard.

Pricing is offered on an annual subscription basis, and depends upon the number of users that need access.

We use Domo for our marketing metrics, connected frontend and backend data for report visualization. Works great with all the integrations and connections that are possible. New features are constantly being added.

Cons

It can be buggy when building charts. Dashboards can be hard to setup unless you deep dive into the platform. The mobile app doesn't work as good.

It makes me able to collaborate all sorts of data together to be able to come up with some really great and useful information that you can take and turn into actionable steps.
The graphing and dash-boarding is really simple and clean.
The design is vibrant and makes things like checking call stats more appealing.
The UI is very easy to master and intuitive.

Cons

It support forums are not easy to search.
you cannot manipulate the detail inside of domo very easily.

For the data-focused marketer, Domo is as good as it gets! This is the only platform that has been able to combine all of my data sets together, it's a dream.

Domo's ability to connect to ANY data source is extremely valuable for myself and my organization. We have around 15 different data sources (some of them local, not in the cloud) just in digital marketing alone, and with Domo we have been able to string all of those sets of data together for one true view of performance. The reports are visually engaging, and I can build dashboards that are useful for any job role. Prior to Domo, our organization did not have any type of advanced business intelligence reporting. The difference in decision-making is night and day.

Cons

The only thing I can write as a potential "con" is that if you are working with multiple data sets like myself, and do not have deep data experience, it can be difficult to string your data sets together once you bring them in. A working knowledge of data is helpful. I recommend using their implementation hours for this if you don't have someone in your organization with that skill set, the Domo implementation experts know their stuff and can get you set up quickly.

Our team finally took the move to tackle individual metrics well. We've been trying to use Zendesk's version of metrics and they have been subpar. Now we filter them through Domo and all is well! They are darn pretty too :)

Cons

No cons that I've found so far. This product is fairly new to our teams needs and thus dar has exceeded what we were looking for!

Cons

Setting up data connections is very difficult, and finding help without having to pay a consultant is difficult, (this is obviously intentional as they want to push these type of services)

Customer support does answer questions when you email them. If you put in enough effort, you can make clear cards for various stakeholders.

Cons

It's impossible to use. You can't query anything, to solve this they built a product called "beastmode" which is difficult to use. I've used tons of BI tools over the years, Periscope easily being the best. And Domo easily being the worst.

Overall we are very happy with the cloud -based BI solution and would recommend it to other companies.

Pros

Beautiful interface and easy to use without any programming or SQL experience. Many important functions (variance calculation) that were missing have been added in the past months.
ETL function makes it easy to combine various datasets from many different sources and many out-of-the-box connectors are already installed and ready to import data (google analytics, shopify, Instagram, Twitter, google sheets etc.).
Reports can be exported into a customized powerpoint presentation with a button click and distributed to the company.
The buzz messenger function allows our company to communicate quickly if there are issues with reports or if we see interesting trends and have questions.
Great app that allows to view charts anywhere.

Cons

Customizable access rights would be beneficial. Currently there are 5 different access rights options.
More flexibility in structuring the page (chart size options) and more color options in reports.
The table format is very basic and needs improvement such as variance calculations and more layout options.
Automatically scheduled reports and alerts can currently only be sent to Domo users with a license.

one of the best feature is using cloud which gives it more flexibility to access data anywhere. Graphs are easy to build. Data is pushed and retrieved faster.

Cons

It is not at all developer friendly, and it does not provide the details about the error when you build a logic for run time. No Filter saving option on the Cards or on the collection. you need to create new pages or sub pages each time if you have a card or group for same filter condition. Very limited features for Pivot type of reports.

You will Enter into a contract where they promise one thing, and then their pricing will change. I have had to pay more and more money! And now you have to buy the platform (20k+) pay for users at 2k each, and then NOW they are making you pay for the connectors as of last month, so I can't add any more stuff!

Oh and it crashes all the time, and there is virtually no support. The only support you have to pay 200 bucks an hour for! SCAM

Pros

Easy to use and figure out. Great way to have all of your stuff in one place

Cons

no customer support unless you pay more. and they nickel and dime you more and more each month.

Our organization introduced DOMO into our organization in 2014 and it has been instrumental in making business decisions. The product itself is intuitive, attractive, and robust. There are a number of data sources that already have API links making it easy and seamless to feed data into DOMO from other SaaS products.

Pros

Key Performance Indicators, Mobile App, Alert System when metrics fall below a programmed number, integrated chat about specific cards, and customer support is bar-none! DOMO has made an easy platform to write and edit reports.

Cons

When we went live with DOMO we were not able to fully optimize and leverage the information that the analytics provided due to the software not being HIPAA compliant. However, in recent months DOMO has engaged in a BAA which has allowed us to pull back the proverbial curtain and really dig into our data to influence important changes in our organization.

Advice to Others

Prior to investing in DOMO ensure that your data sources will allow an outside feed/API. We did find one of our EHRs would not allow this and it requires a manual process for us to feed the data to DOMO. This does not allow real-time data to be reflected in several of our reports.

We have been using Domo for almost a year now. The product can quickly connect to most data sources and has some great visualizations. Their strength is in dashboarding. They call each view a card. We had several use cases up front that we started with, and we will quickly up and running. We hired their professional services to help with the implementation, however they were probably not worth the money we spent on them. As with any data consultant they didn't understand our environment well and sent us in the wrong direction a few times. As for our own abilities, if you have someone who is familiar with SQL you should be good to go. They are still relatively new so there are hiccups along the way but it's a great product overall.

Domo's vision of analytics is that data from many SaaS apps can be aggregated, analyzed, and visualized in a single system. It aims to make analytics the new water cooler of company discussion, replacing slack or chatter as the main company chat app. It's visualizations, while less sophisticated than Tableau/Qlik are much easier to create and visually attractive out of the box, and many of the features are copied from best-in-class social apps: From Pinterest, Boards with a scrolling list of pins, from Tumblr the ability to "reblog" or remix individual charts into your own dashboards, and to "follow" specific dashboards, Slack, excellent contextual chat system with alerts and @notifications. Domo also recognizes that analytics requires at least some implementation services to get the data organized and talking to each other and they are ready to provide this (for a fee) for companies that are missing in-house analytics expertise.

Likes Least

Expensive! There is a significant upfront fee plus large ongoing fees based on the number of users. Domo has set their pricing to be competitive with Tableau/Qlik and current leading analytics packages.

Recommendations

Domo is meant to drive company-wide analytics. It isn't the most sophisticated or powerful, but it is by far the easiest to use and the most likely to gain adoption within the company.

Domo is a great alternative for users that are not as technically inclined and have SQL/coding skillsets. It allows some of our marketing analysts the ability to gain data insights from a number of different sources to show marketing spend and ROI effectively.

Cons

There is a pretty steep learning curve that requires some training, use of their online resources and it definitely helps if you have someone on-site to answer questions and get into the more technical side of the tool when necessary.

Through Domo we have been able to tie into a lot of data and make it visually appealing. There are countless reports you can create, and it's easy to navigate different sections and reports even though there is a lot of data.

Cons

There are certain graphs that only appear a certain way if you mouse over it, making it hard to export clean images. The graph line that you mouse over will show it's number but all others won't, then when you mouse off, the numbers won't show. If there's a way to do it, I don't know how, and I think the UX could be much improved.

It was interesting to see how all of the APIs connect and get pulled into cards. Seeing what fields were available was a nice peek into that complex world.

Pros

Real-time analytics and reporting is awesome! Having a desktop dashboard as well as an app is convenient as well. If multiple departments in your organization need this type of automated reporting, (and none of them are excel wizards) it is rather nifty to use Domo.

Cons

Very expensive unless you're using it in all departments of your company. Takes a little while to acclimate to the language/software used to create dashboard "cards".

Having data pull in rapidly is essential for a fast-driving company. That is its greatest benefit.

Pros

I like the option to create collections that gather only certain data. The ability to filter certain data and pull in a select number of products is a great advantage to using DOMO.

Cons

It is SO slow. I understand that DOMO is a 'real-time' data analysis software, but it is extremely slow. It makes finding data last minute very stressful.

I work in sales and manage a sales team. My favorite thing about Domo is that I can look at graphs that break down my teams sales. I love how I know where we were the previous year, month, and week compared to where we are at the moment.

Cons

I find that some of the features are hard to use especially when I try to access them on the app. This may just be because I am not sufficiently trained on how to use it.

Pros

Customer support is very quick and they have added a ton of raw data connections to connect to our variety of data sources. Incredibly fast to implement. I had deployable charts on day one. -Easy to combine various data sources -They are constantly improving there software.

Cons

I do not many cons to report as of yet. The only thing that I can give a con on is that Domo is a bit limited on its features regarding Pivot reports.

Domo provided for us a mobile-compatible platform with cloud delivery which makes its visualizations open to all users, regardless of their device or location.

Because Domo offers both iOS and Android native apps this helped our organization with the multiple platforms that we use to be more efficient.

Pros

Domo Business Cloud offers a great range of data connection possibilities. Users can get unrestricted access to all the data needed to make quality business decisions even if they lack technical knowledge and expertise. Domo offers attractive visualizations that are a far cry from classic rows and columns. The app. enables users to visualize data in the way they prefer and maintain full control of it. A major benefit is that the app. offers a unique social aspect that includes valuable conversations.

The software also tracks behavior and interests and merges them with other data.

Domo offers a mobile-compatible platform with cloud delivery which makes its visualizations open to all users, regardless of their device.

The vendor offers both iOS and Android native apps.

Cons

If most of your data is on premise then having Domo BI in the Cloud could be a con for you, if you have most of your data on premise and prefer it that way.

The cost could be an issue as well Domo, requires that customers use their professional services to install the software that migrates on-premise data to Domo¿s Cloud. This can be costly for smaller size companies.

Another cons for us is that Domo delivers dynamic dashboard presentations, but it doesn,t allow the users to do ad-hoc reporting.

Pros

Easy to use data flows, Workbench and Card Analysers . Changed how we look at data. Excellent support team

Cons

Recent changes to the UE has removed most of my cons. Not being able to trigger a workbench job xx minutes after completing a prior run is a challenge.
