Pros/Cons
Pros
- Its attractive pricing and feature rich functionality and great support make it a solid offering to prospective users.
- I originally got into Host for budgeting and it has been great for that, but I have found it great for many other things. I also love the way it can grow with me.
- Can include links to images of transaction source documents, providing great transparency in reporting. Spotlight for Excel add in to develop custom, refreshable reports is a great help.
Cons
- The inability to do calculations in the report without creating a new template. Also as we are on Macs the inability to use spotlight in Mac Excel.
- A data pull is not immediate and can cause some frustration if data is not pulled 100% accurately the first time.
- The interface is pretty dated. I also mainly use chrome as my browser and there seems to be a lag time when scrolling in a template which is a bit of a pain.
Pros
- We love that you can customize everything. Tracking certain expenditures is extremely important, and although they may not be a big deal for one company, they're huge for us.
- Our overall experience has been very good. We are very happy with the flexibility of the product and specifically the financial statement feature.
- I have had a good overall experience with quickbooks. It helps me to get what I need to done so that our books are balanced and our reports are generated.
Cons
- We continue to have issues, they want you to call them every time you get locked out or theirs an issue with this crappy software. Terrible terrible company at this point.
- The security on it does lack, there isn't a two-step authentication. And there was a limitation to the number of products in the list especially for inventory purposes.
- Even with internet outages, you can still get things done. Everything is backed up automatically, so even if someone makes a mistake, you can jump back to the day before and fix it.
