Auctria is a cloud-based bidding and auction management solution designed for small and midsize nonprofits. It offers website management, payment processing, bid sheets, donor receipts and reporting functionalities within a suite.

Auctria's website management feature allows users to create custom websites for every bidding event. The website allows users to sell event tickets and manage online registrations. The product also enables users to track information such as donor contacts, auction items and bid amounts.

Auctria features bidder automation, which allows users to manage registration, bid offerings and close-outs. The solution also allows users to manage auction-related documents such as bid sheets, display pages, gift certificates and auction catalogs.

Auctria allows users to manage close-out and handle payments, donations, tickets, products and receipts after events. The solution is able to support a variety of currencies.

    A smoother event for our foundation

    Pros

    Ticket sales integrated with auction, and the ease of transitioning the online auction to the paper auction with display pages and bid sheets

    Cons

    Usability for guest enrollment was a question. A few guests made errors during enrollment, usually related to capturing guest names...not surprising or a major concern. However, there was also a scenario where bidder numbers were duplicated when users registered more than one guest...we assume it was usability or scenario related because it only happened occasionally.

    being able to duplicate the entire auction from the previous year is super useful. It allows us to keep all the repeat items and save time on keying them in again.

    Pros

    The customer support is very fast, thorough and very useful. instead of searching the on line catalog you just type your question.

    Cons

    The auction functionality is not located where you would think it would be, not very intuitive thus you have to search more than you should.

    That it didn't work the night of our event. We tried to register the winning bids and it wouldn't do it, so we had to do it by hand.

    Help desk was very helpful and gave prompt replies. They have added new functionality every year that makes the site more useful. For example, we used the thermometer this year in our email promos and I could see that it was a good motivator!

    Cons

    Not really a con, but I have asked that they add the ability to upload a file or attach one of their own (like a gift certificate) to the Send Email function without having to create a new web page for each attachment.

    User-friendly would be #1 feature but the search feature I used with ease, and clicking back and forth quickly between tabs was helpful.

    Cons

    Probably a con for me would be when i first looked at it, I was overwhelmed, but then when I started using it, it was so easy.

    I retired from a career of managing a team of programmers who created software for a Fortune 500 company, plus a part of my job was choosing and implementing software from various vendors. The support we receive from Auctria exceeds any that I experienced in my 35 years in the business world. As a volunteer now for a non profit, I could not be happier with both the quality of the software and the exceptional customer service. Highly recommend!

    Cons

    I wish for more robust reporting. It would be nice to have the ability to create formulas in the reports. Also creating the format for communications, bid cards, displays, etc., is challenging for some of our users who do not have previous experience.

    I like that you can have a website, sell tickets and manage auction in one cohesive place. It made it easy to manage inputting donors and items.

    Cons

    I don't like the check in feature as it is easy for volunteers to click around outside of simply swiping the credit card. Other software doesn't require the CVV which Auctria does and that adds to check in time. It would be nice if there were a kiosk type mode for check in.

    Thanks for your feedback - we are always appreciative of your time in sharing specifics like this. It is possible to disable the CVV requirement on the 'credit cards' page, but I'd hesitate to do that: you are more likely to see rejected credit card charges if this information is missing. For a kiosk mode check-in, are you looking for something that the guest themselves would use to check-in, or just a more streamlined experience for the volunteers?

    A quicker way of reseting / removing the bids on an item that was accidently posted before it was ready would be nice.

    It made check out very easy once we figured out the glitches. Emailing the bidders was a nice feature.

    Cons

    There was no way to practice before the auction to anticipate the problems that would come up. After entering everything with the quick bid, there was a list of items in red that were failed attempts. If you left that screen for any reason, it never showed up again. We could not find a report that showed us the failed bids, so there was a lot of scrambling when we didn't have a lot of time to try to figure out which bids failed.

There are a couple of ways to handle a test event, see http://help.auctria.com/using-auctria/how-do-i-set-up-a-mock-or-test-auction for some more details. The failed bid messages aren't something that we persist currently though that is an interesting idea, I'll see if we can incorporate that in the future. For single winner items you could see which items were left unsold (via the Status dropdown on the item list)

    Easy tracking, bid sheets done for me, catalog pages that are easily made and don't have to be hand done each year.

    This program is an easy to use program. It is very user friendly. Does a great job of tracking items and bidders from year to year.

    We only do one auction per year so I find that at times I forget where certain settings are located.

    While the software is pretty intuitive and easy to navigate, the tech support is absolutely awesome! Whenever I got stuck or had a question, Team answered me almost immediately - even over the weekend.

    Cons

    There are a few bothersome features that I can't specifically recall now (I'm done with our annual auction) but none that truly takeaway from it being great software.

    I use this software for all my auctions. I do about 5 auctions or more per year. I can manage each client separately without any problems

    Pros

    User friendly.
    It makes my job easy
    It's easy to train somebody new to use the system.
    It's very easy to manage packaging and financials.

    Whatever I need improvement, they always help me fix the problems asap.

    The affordability. This was our first attempt to use a software package for our silent auction and event management. The pricing meant we really couldn't pass it up. So many of the competitors wanted to send their team to our event, work the crowd and charge us thousands. I'm so glad I found a system that was willing to let us put in the time and just purchase the software.

    Cons

    The menu system is confusing, the system isn't intuitive. I wouldn't recommend it to organizations that don't have a tech-savy staff member. The system didn't auto check-out folks after the event, I had to initiate every checkout, even when cards were on file. When a card was on file, it was easy to accidently click "pay by cash" and then I couldn't undo to cash payment.

    Abigayle we hear this over and over-"So many of the competitors wanted to send their team to our event, work the crowd and charge us thousands." Auctria was born out of the need to handle an annual school auction that had grown too big to be shuffling pieces of paper or Excel files around. Cost was a factor, so we needed something that didn't cost an arm and a leg. We couldn't find an answer so we built Auctria. For handling checkout with registered cards there is a batch checkout feature under Checkout -> Batch Checkout that will process all the accounts with a registered card at once. There are some more details on how it works at http://docs.auctria.com/v3/checkout/batch-checkout Existing payments that were recorded in error you can delete them from the Activity tab of the bidder details page.     Very happy with this purchase. This product has been such a great and affordable product for our auction.

    Pros

    The price is fantastic, and really cannot be beat. The software is intuitive and easy to use. It is cloud based and you can have as many users as you'd like logged in and working on it at one time.

    Cons

    I really can't think of any issues with this software. Maybe more personalized customer service, should you need it. But in two years we have only had one issue.

    It does everything I need to run our annual auction at a fraction of the cost of the competition.

    I am pretty tech savvy, so it works for me, but the software requires some knowledge and patience with basic database work. It is not as easy to use as some of the competition claims to be.

    Stripe hookup! Money comes in easily. Easier to process than Square, when in a hurry. Easy to print out a nice looking receipt that makes people calm.

    Cons

    Left nav very long. Sometimes hard to scroll down and click the thing you want. But a minor detail. Mostly great.

    It had promise. Seemed like a good solution for people who would be able to pay with their own credit card and then check out using that same credit card.

    Cons

    IF everyone would have bought their own ticket with their own credit card and then if they had wanted to do self-checkout with that same credit card THEN this software would have been a dream. Nearly a third of our auction participants wanted something different. We didn't have enough computers to handle the anomolies. We didn't have enough training to know how to back out transactions or add a charge, or do a split charge (cash, check and/or credit). We didn't have enough log-ins to ensure system reliability. The system crashed halfway through checkout and NONE of the charges went through. It was a nightmare and now I'm stuck cleaning it up--and I still don't have the training I need to manage the failed transactions. I'm a volunteer for crying out loud and I don't want to spend my time on this.

    Sorry that your experience was clearly not what we want groups to experience with Auctria. From reviewing the transactions it looks like the anti-fraud settings on your credit card processing account were too high and the charges were blocked downstream because of this. Unfortunately this isn't something we can directly control or make changes to ourselves. However, I'm happy to waive our credit card fees for the charges that were processed. For refunding a transaction there is a Refund link on the bidder activity tab which can be used to trigger a refund.
