Once your request has been assigned there are no updates in-between when you submitted the request and when the contractor shows up.

Sometimes it can be a bit glitchy, but that is probably user error. I really don't have much to say that would be a negative.

Even if it's not ideal it causes the extended use of older version of QGIS when working on a specific project for longer.

It is evolving constantly, it's free and it does the job well no matter if you just want to take a look at a shapefile or you want to deliver more complex projects - it's there and it works.

The main benefit of QGIS in relation to competitors is related to cost-benefit. The software is compatible with the most popular operating systems such as Windowns, Linux and Mac.

I love the software and would certainly recommend it to anyone interested in geo data management.

It can handle all that I throw at it and quite well. I have a very good experience working with QGIS.

QGIS is a must have for anyone doing spatial analysis or GIS related work. Its free and comes with a lot of capabilities similar to other products like ARC-GIS.

The installation is a little difficult at times and it requires uninstalling the previous version. The tool bar graphics can look a little dated graphically.

The user interface is outdated and needs revamping. Some features are either difficult to find or sometimes buggy/not working.

QGIS is a free software, with exceptional customization as well as some amazing built-in features.

While the features of Qgis are adequate for most GIS tasks, however the stability of the software really ruins the experience.

The software presents the user with an enormous ease in using its tools. Simplicity is given even in data processing requiring little installed computer hardware.

Its tool box is has a variety of analysis tools and it supports various plugins. It's ability to accept data from diverse sources is also an interesting.

It is not a very intuitive tool and some of its features are hard to complete.

The software can be a bit unstable and slow while performing heavy tasks, and fails to efficiently manage raster data unlike other GIS software available.

The support community is also great making it easy to get solutions to any issues you may have.

It presents some translation errors in its other pre-defined languages, but it does not get in the way of using it.

It is easy to use, especially if you have previously handled a GIS tool. The software is continually being improved.

This is a full-featured, intuitive GIS software with many devoted users who develop add ons for some many situations. The software is updated regularly.

Having the ability to integrate many different file types is a great feature that makes this software awesome.

Qgis is a free, open source software, so the price is literally unbeatable.

It is good alternative to  other hig cost soft wares and python can be easy used for customization.

Easily connectable to other applications even including hardware GPS devices through plugins and has an easy integration with Excel Databases and supports most Excel Database formats.

The amount of times the software crashed, on several different PC's is unacceptable.

I like that this software is open source, yet has a lot of powerful features, most of which I have not gotten around to exploring.

The fact that it's free, very powerful, can work on any type of data size you put at it and that it's also cross-platform.

I am working on building a 3D geotechnical model, and QGIS was the best decision I chose to complete my work.

I did not find anything that is not easy to use, maybe I have not yet encountered such a problem.

It is all that I had hoped I could find since ESRI products are so so expensive and it is my budget. But QGIS days everything I need for professional mapping and analysis.

Like I mentioned above, the ease of use and the software being inexpensive is a huge advantage for anyone who wants to learn about geographic information system.
