Vagaro is a cloud-based salon, spa and fitness business management solution that allows professionals to book appointments and manage various facility roles. It offers an integrated solution to manage bookkeeping, payroll, client databases and inventory management, as well as featuring email and text notifications to clients and automated email marketing.

Users can list available appointment slots, and customers can then look for salon facilities nearby and book appointments through Vagaro’s website or the Vagaro app. VagaroPro, the business app, is available for Android and iOS smartphones.

Users can create customizable promotional web pages to showcase upcoming events and special offers through Vagaro’s website or connect with their customers through email and social media platforms. Customers can also create personalized profiles with their contact information, booking history and feedback. Users can keep records of their customer service histories and generate customizable reports with graphs and charts to track business performance, customer retention and more.

pretty easy software to use if it worked correctly. Easy to check out when the inventory is correct in the system and you can check someone out.

Cons

Horrible customer service, the customer is NEVER right, software messed up my inventory constantly. Every time I went in to do inventory it was wrong! Constant battle putting in tickets about this and when I did finally quit they don't show one ticket in the system for this????? I probably complained about 10 times. After spending 9-10 hours putting in my inventory and having to leave since they can't keep it correct I have to pay for the free credit card reader I received. I would never leave after all the hours I put in if they were reliable. My accountant told me we had to go to a manual system since I records are such a mess since going with Vagaro. They also charged me to change my bank account number in the system. Everytime I wanted to talk to a manager the answer was there were none available. I spoke to some other local spas in the area and they said they have the same issue with the inventory. I have put in a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back since Vagaro didn't hold up on their end of the deal.

very easy to use and more functions on the same page . there's help online and by phone. i had mindbody before this and this program had less features for more money.

Its easy to use and integrate everything from your business into. Marketing emails are a breeze. Editing and adding services is also great.

Cons

It doesn't allow to have two owners on the same account and you have to have authorization for the second person to do any editing. You also have to pay extra now to offer gift certificates or to send more emails. I also wish searching for available times from a client's perspective was a little smoother without having to start over every time.

I would refer this to anyone starting a business. I have worked with a lot of software and this is excellent!

Pros

It does everything I need it to and works for me when I am teaching. I can set automated emails, customers can book online, and it is easy to navigate. Customer service team has been extremely useful and helpful.

Cons

Currently intake/liability forms are not available to digitally but by August this feature will be launching. So I'm not really sure if this is a con, lol

As a spa specializing in facials, waxing and sugaring our needs aren't super great but in looking at the various options that are available in Vagaro as part of their per-user licensing fees I can't imagine what more someone would need.

Pros

Vagaro is economically priced, richly featured, and my clients like it so that's all I need to know.

Cons

Sometimes customer support is a little slow. If there are online then great but if not, I've not always received a reply to my query.

Cons

We use square for credit card processing because of least percentage taken out. We wish that the fees were lower for using the checking out part of Vagaro. Other than that, we love it!

that when an appointment changes or I've had to cancel last minute...it texts the change or reason for cancellation right to the client. that is Awesome especially when their mailbox for the phone is not connected or set up. They respond faster to a text message

I am definitely leaning toward keeping this once my trial is up. I have noticed an increase in calls for appointments in just the first week or so that I've been using it.

Pros

Being notified when someone books with me is great for keeping on track of my schedule. The built in functionality with Instagram and Facebook and Google makes it easy to get the word out that you're accepting appointments online.

Cons

The site can be kind of clunky and difficult to navigate at first. There's definitely a learning curve. Also, I had to import all of my existing appointments manually, it does not import from google calendar.

Cons

I don't like that the payment swiper costs you money at all since i can do paypal at no cost for a swiper. I also don't like that vagaro takes all your transaction fees at the end of the month vs. Right out of each transaction.

I know a ton of clients that jumped off StyleSeat or something similar to jump on Vagaro--and they are happy. However . . .

Cons

A feature that is often requested and ignored is to be able to add the Facebook Pixel to their client booking page. This is a HUGE FAIL! If you believe that FB is awesome for marketing--which is most people--why would you use a service that does not integrate where ALL your clients are?!? I wrote the CEO about this and no avail. I've been in several Vagaro Support chats which are really bad in my limited experience. This is such a shame. There are ways around this pixel thing to track people who landed on your Vagaro page and left, but it's tricky.

I love that the software can be linked to different platforms (i.e.: Facebook) and that people can book from those platforms. Vagaro can send out text messages and emails with updates, which is much preferred over robocalls. They also have an online chat to help with any issues!

Cons

The payment structure sometimes doesn't work, like with the credit card reader. That might be an issue with our reader or a connection to the software. But most of the time it works out just fine.

The Package function was designed to group individual service types together so a discount can be given for purchasing more than one at a time. Packages can be made on-the-fly or preset for fast and easy addition to the customer's Checkout. Each Package must be applied to a customer profile. This is done so that when a customer comes in for a service, the Package counter is immediately decreased upon Checkout. Our Support department does a great job of educating customers once the general tutorial has been given. I am able to do packages, gift cards, memberships, and have efficient online billing through booking.

Pros

The calendar set up, booking, and billing options are great. The customer service is helpful in any questions that I may have.

Cons

There are no file upload options, no online intake forms, additionally, everything is extremely manual and takes a lot of steps. I have been trying to adjust my menu options for days now. Also, the interface takes a little bit of education to navigate. Its not clear where basic functions are such as changing my open hours.

Pros

Vagaro is easy to use, great value, and offers a great pos systems. My clients like it as they can easily log into the App on their phone or computer and set up their own appointments. The customer support is friendly and has always found a good solution to me small problems when I was just setting up the application. Overall - Vagaro is the best scheduler out there.

Cons

It is not easy to think of cons as this application is really just what I needed. I have not used all of the unique offerings yet to possibly see what may be missing from this so think there is really nothing that I would suggest as a con.

It needs more personalization for dance studio. connection to the websites. Membership implementations. setting up services and classes should be more user friendly.

Vagaro is very inexpensive and compared to Sqaure appointments (which I was previously using) there are more options such as being able to sell packages

Cons

Wish it linked to Square credit card processing... I at times have issues when using it from my mobile device with not showing the entire screen

The system was pretty intuitive, and clients were able to interface fairly easily. Easy to schedule and reschedule.

Cons

Never kept an accurate inventory, lots of glitching, scheduled appointments over each other, didn't always send confirmations. Wonky tracking, always innacurate on rebooking rates, etc.
