#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Just like Slack, so transition for users is easy. Full featured even at the free level. Making us fans for when we upgrade.

#### Cons

Lacking integration with google drive and microsoft onedrive

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

Price and commitment. Pumble is just as good as Slack but doiesn't make it finiacially difficult to use as our team grows and works towards a profit. Then we can upgrade and share the profit with Pumble.

#### Vendor response

Regarding your feedback about the lacking integration, our team is already planning to add Google drive and One drive, you can check the status here: https://pumble.com/integrations I'll also add your vote for this integration for our product teams consideration. We were looking for a low-cost, robust chat and messaging system to use for our small business. Pumble has turned out to be excellent for us and is giving us everything we need. We've used Slack, Teams, and other systems in the past and Pumble is as good as, probably better, than any of those for our needs. We're also now working with a remote VA who we've added to our account. She says it's very easy to use even though she's never come across the product before. We're on the free plan and that's exactly what we need for now.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Ease of use. Comprehensive free plan. Can make (most) channels private if you invite a third party like a VA.

#### Cons

Pumble automatically added our new VA to our #general channel, which we didn't really want, and it turns out you can't make that channel private on the free version.

#### Reasons for choosing Pumble

Great functionality available on the free plan, and affordable plans for when we need to upgrade. Ease of use, familiar style of interface.

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

Cost was too high for our very small business

#### Vendor response

Hello there, Thanks for the great review! The private channels are also available on the free plans too!

### Pumble: Simple, free, and reliable team communication with room for improvement

Overall, Pumble is a great communication tool for teams. It is easy to use, reliable, and cost-effective. It still needs improvements in stability and integrations, but for daily use it works very well.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I really liked that Pumble has a very generous free plan with unlimited users and chat history, plus an intuitive interface that is simple to learn and fast support that makes everything easier for teams.

#### Cons

What I liked least about Pumble is the lack of many native integrations and the fact that sometimes the app crashes or becomes slow during video calls or when loading large files, which can affect productivity.

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

I switched from Discord to Pumble because it offers a more professional environment for teamwork, with unlimited message history, organized channels, and no unnecessary distractions, making it better for productivity.

### Simple and Reliable Team Chat Tool

- Overall rating: 5/5

- Product usage: Used daily for less than 6 months
- Reviewed: August 2025

Overall, I’ve had a good experience with Pumble. I like how simple and clutter-free it feels, and it gets the job done for team communication without distractions. The only thing I missed at times were more integrations and stronger call features, but for messaging and collaboration, it’s been great.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Very clean and intuitive interface, easy to onboard new team members. Fast performance with no noticeable lag in messaging. Good cross-platform availability (desktop, mobile, web). Straightforward notification system, helps avoid missing important updates. Easy file sharing and integrations for day-to-day collaboration.

#### Cons

Video and audio call features are quite basic. Mobile app sometimes feels slower or less polished than the desktop version. Fewer customization options for notifications and themes.

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

I made the switch because Pumble offers unlimited chat history for free, which was a big limitation in Slack. Our team wanted a simpler tool without extra complexity or high subscription costs. We needed a lightweight, distraction-free communication app and Pumble fit that.

The Pro plan allows you to invite clients, contractors, or partners as "guests" with controlled access to specific channels, facilitating external collaboration.

#### Cons

Occasional bugs. Being a newer and smaller player, there are fewer online resources, community forums, and troubleshooting guides compared to the giants. ### Best collaboration app for small businesses, startups, and networking professionals

Love it, and have introduced dozens of other professionals to use the free version for their small businesses/sole proprietorships. Pumble helps the multi passionate professionals to compartmentalize and methodically approach the notifications that often invade our screens.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It has channels so I can prioritize which topics are urgent to ME. I also like that it does not have an algorithm or ads like Facebook.

#### Cons

The cost. I would like to see a more tiered pricing style that supports small businesses of 10 of smaller. The larger companies are more capable of absorbing the cost per seat.

#### Reasons for choosing Pumble

Slack was far too expensive for such a small group. We do not work for the same company; we are independent business owners who collaborate via Pumble.

It's cheaper slack and sometimes it's kinda buggy, but overall it is becomes better and better.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

It provides some of the most important features from slack. Channels with real time chat, calls, file sharing, mentions etc. and it has good security standards

#### Cons

Some things do not work as expected. It's getting better over time. When we first started, mobile notifications had common delay. Now it's seems to be fine, but calls on the other hand are not. It is difficult to establish connection (3-5 times) and sometimes it is just easier to switch to meet. There is no a lot of integrations and this is something that we would rly like (example YouTrack, Circle Ci, Figma etc). Also one of the biggest problems is that slack has integrations between servers and this can become for some to much to handle as we cooperate with couple different teams that are using slack. If there would be possibility to connect with people from slack via pumble then I would change my recommendation for pumble to 9

#### Reasons for choosing Pumble

We decided to go with pumble cos of security-encryption and price.

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

Price of the slack is rly heigh, but on the other hand it allows integration between servers

If you’re a new business needed to communicate with a number of people, this app is the answer and I feel more people should know about it. Other competitors are charging extortionate rates for similar products and it makes absolutely no sense why everyone isn’t just using this.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It’s honestly changed the way I do business with clients - for anyone who’s working with a number of clients in any industry you generally don’t want to always give out your number or rely on common instant message platforms (especially if you want to try and switch off in the evenings) it’s been an absolute game changer for me being able to add all of my clients in and chat to them 1-2-1 at all times

#### Cons

I find a lot of my clients get confused during the set up - when I send them an invite they’ll often create their own workspace when I instruct them to join mine. So maybe the joining could be a bit more straight forward from that sense

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

Slack was extortionate and I coach hundreds of clients so it would cost me an absolute fortune to simply be able to communicate with them (which makes no sense to me when things like WhatsApp are free)

It's basically Slack, but better. And the paid option is sensibly priced, so that's fantastic too.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Pumble is easy to use - if you've used Slack, you already know everything you need to about Pumble. But, crucially, Pumble allows unlimited message history in the free version. This is a crippling restriction of Slack, and the main reason I switched from Slack to Pumble.

#### Cons

Pumble's search feature is not great, and requires basically knowing exactly what whole word terms you're searching for. Partial words won't get you anywhere.

#### Reasons for choosing Pumble

Discord's file limitation was too restrictive, and Skype is hard to organize multiple conversations and also has a really bad search/message history feature.

#### Reasons for switching to Pumble

Slack's limited message history was too restrictive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Getting started with Pumble was easy. I love being able to organize threads by theme, use tags, and tag the group or segments there-in. I also like the options for adding reactions in the chat threads.

#### Cons

Editable posts: a no-brainer, must-have, basic capability. Also need to be able to move threads to more appropriate topic. Did I mention that posts need to be editable? I created a specialized subgroup in our membership and now can't find it.

#### Reasons for choosing Pumble

We can save notes by sending the documents or credentials to ourselves. like the chat user interface. love the channel sidebar. Simple and effective.

Keeping social and personal chats off helps create a work-life balance helping both work and life! During office hours, the team is distraction-free with no friends and family messaging. Post office hours, switching off Pumble creates the constraint not to interfere with the personal lives and spaces of team members. The convenience of running it across multiple devices including mobile is a great feature.
