### Most mentioned pros

- It’s a reliable platform that makes large‑scale data collection and automation much easier than managing custom scripts or infrastructure. Once workflows are set up, they run consistently in the background and save a significant amount of manual effort.
- Apify solved a real gap for me at Pin Wei — capturing external customer sentiment and competitor data that my internal iPOS pipeline couldn't see — and feeding it into one weekly reporting view in Looker Studio.
- What I like most is the sheer breadth of the Store; having access to pre-built Actors for Google Maps, Instagram, and LinkedIn saves me dozens of hours of custom development.

### Most mentioned cons

- Some prebuilt Actors break silently when target websites update their layout, and the error logs during failed runs are too technical and vague to debug quickly without deep platform knowledge.
- Before adopting it, we relied heavily on static and often outdated data sources, which made our targeting less effective and increased manual effort for the team.
- The automated system repeatedly rejected valid documents and did not provide enough information about why they were being rejected, making troubleshooting difficult.

I have used it for doing advanced analysis on content marketing and social listening. It enabled me to do tasks that take weeks in a few days with a level of precision and a scope of date never possible before. Amazing datasets, scraping actors if you use Claude Code or Perplexity Computer. It is great value for money too it only costs 27 e month.

#### Cons

I would like to get recommended which actors to use to be honest, as everything comes to which scraping actors you use and sometimes it is challenging to find the best one.

My overall experience with Apify has been highly positive. It has successfully bridged the gap between needing complex, scalable web scraping infrastructure and not wanting to build it all from scratch. While there is a slight learning curve when you first start configuring the JSON inputs for specific Actors, the time and money saved in the long run make it incredibly worthwhile. It has become a foundational tool in our data extraction workflow, particularly for platforms like LinkedIn and X, and their customer support and community have been consistently helpful.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What Apify does exceptionally well is abstraction of infrastructure. Running scrapers on highly secure platforms like LinkedIn and X is usually a nightmare due to strict anti-bot protections. Apify completely solves this with their seamless proxy rotation and browser fingerprinting management. Furthermore, their store offers pre-built Actors that are constantly maintained and updated by the community and developers. This means I don't have to spend hours fixing my code whenever a platform changes its layout. Lastly, the ability to run multiple tasks concurrently in the cloud and export clean, structured JSON or CSV data out-of-the-box saves our team dozens of hours every week.

#### Cons

Zamiast pisać scraper od zera, korzystasz z gotowych rozwiązań (np. LinkedIn Profile Scraper czy Twitter/X Scraper).

Generally, I was super well-assisted and the system worked 99% of the time, I have experienced only one outage with the SERP Proxy service in more than 12 months using. Considering the difficulty of scraping google I understand that this is very acceptable.

#### Ratings breakdown

The proxy feature works very good and the dashboard allows me to watch exactly how I'm spending my money. The marketplace is also very interesting although I haven't used it.

#### Cons

The proxy service doesn't allow me to choose the country for the requests, so the websites that have IP-related restricted access doesn't work with the Apify service.

Really great, would recommend. It saved me a lot of time I would have spent writing and maintaining my own scrapers, and the actors mostly just work the first time. The pricing is the only thing that made me think twice, but I'd still use it again.

How easy to use it is, you just see how an actor works, then plug it in, its very easy to use. You don't have to build a scraper from scratch or figure out the technical side, someone has usually already made an actor for what you need and it just runs.

#### Cons

Cost, the starter plan starts quite high. If you're only running a few tasks now and then it feels like a lot to pay before you've even seen the value, and the credits go faster than you expect once you start running bigger jobs.

My overall experience with Apify has been extremely positive. The platform has become an important part of several data collection, research, and automation projects by allowing us to gather and process web data efficiently and at scale. What initially attracted me was the availability of ready-to-use Actors, but what kept me using the platform was its flexibility, reliability, and ability to support increasingly complex workflows. Apify has helped reduce the time and effort required to build and maintain custom scraping solutions, enabling projects to move from concept to production much faster. The scheduling features, APIs, integrations, and managed infrastructure make it easy to automate recurring tasks and connect collected data with downstream analytics and AI systems. While there is a learning curve for some of the more advanced capabilities, the benefits far outweigh the challenges. The platform has delivered substantial productivity gains, reduced development overhead, and provided a strong return on investment. I would readily recommend Apify to organizations and individuals involved in web data extraction, market research, AI applications, or workflow automation.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The biggest strengths of Apify are its flexibility, scalability, and ease of automation. The platform provides a large ecosystem of ready-to-use Actors that make it possible to start collecting data almost immediately, while still offering the ability to build highly customized solutions when needed. I particularly appreciate the managed infrastructure, scheduling capabilities, API access, dataset management, and seamless integration with AI and automation tools. Apify eliminates much of the complexity involved in web scraping and data collection, allowing projects to move from concept to production very quickly. Another major advantage is the amount of time it saves. Tasks that previously required manual data gathering or custom-built scraping systems can often be automated in a matter of hours, resulting in substantial productivity gains and a strong return on investment.

#### Cons

The main drawback is that some advanced features can be challenging for new users to master. While basic scraping tasks are straightforward, building complex workflows involving custom Actors, APIs, webhooks, and large-scale automation requires a deeper understanding of the platform. Debugging can also be improved. When a scraper fails because of website changes, anti-bot protections, or dynamic content, identifying the root cause may take some investigation. More advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting tools would help reduce development time. Finally, for larger projects, it can be difficult to predict resource consumption and costs before deployment. Enhanced cost estimation and usage forecasting features would make budgeting and scaling even easier. Despite these limitations, the overall value provided by the platform far outweighs these concerns.

Overall, my experience with Apify has been very positive. It significantly simplifies web scraping and automation by handling infrastructure concerns like scaling, proxies, scheduling, and reliability out of the box. It has helped us move faster, reduce maintenance overhead, and run more stable data pipelines in production. While there are a few areas that could be improved, especially around large-scale workflow management and advanced analytics, the platform overall delivers strong value and has become a key part of our data automation stack.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The thing I like most about Apify is how much it simplifies the entire web scraping lifecycle. It removes the need to manage infrastructure like proxies, scaling, scheduling, and reliability, which makes it much faster to build and run production-grade scrapers. It’s also very developer-friendly - creating, deploying, and iterating on actors is straightforward, and the platform is stable enough to trust for ongoing data pipelines. Overall, it just makes web automation significantly less painful and much more scalable.

#### Cons

The dashboard can become a bit cluttered when managing many actors and runs at scale. Some advanced monitoring and analytics features could also be more detailed, especially for debugging large production workflows.

### Best scraping infra we've used. Period

Apify has been one of the highest-leverage tools in our stack. We came in needing a scraping layer for our agent pipeline and didn't want to spend weeks building proxies, schedulers, and storage from scratch. Within a day, we had pre-built actors pulling structured listings off freelance boards into a clean dataset, wired into our pipeline via the REST API. Eight months in, it's still the layer doing the heaviest lifting — quietly, reliably, and for a fraction of what a dedicated scraping engineer or self-hosted stack would cost. The platform is mature in the ways that matter: schedules, run history, dataset storage, and observability all come out of the box. The API is clean enough that wiring it into a Claude-based agent took an afternoon, not a sprint. The Actor Store covers most common targets, and when something isn't there, the SDK and CLI make custom actors realistic. The friction points are real but bounded — plan caps bite on spiky workloads, Actor Store quality is inconsistent, and the local dev loop could be tighter. None of those have been dealbreakers, and the tradeoffs are honest for what you get. For a small team building scraping into a product rather than running one-off pulls, Apify is the right foundation.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Apify's strongest card is how fast it gets you from "we need scraping" to scraping running in production. The pre-built Actor Store covers most common targets out of the box — we had Scout pulling structured listings off freelance boards within an hour of signing up. Beyond that, it's a proper infrastructure platform, not just a scraper: schedules, datasets, key-value stores, proxies, and a clean REST API all sit behind the same account, so wiring it into an agent pipeline is straightforward. The compute-unit pricing scales predictably for mixed workloads, and the observability — run history, dataset views, logs per run — means you can debug a broken scrape without rebuilding your own monitoring stack. For a small team, it does the work of an entire scraping engineer.

#### Cons

The plan caps are punishing for spiky workloads. Once you hit the monthly compute limit, everything stops dead — no soft overage, no pay-as-you-go top-up that doesn't push you up a whole tier. Actor Store quality is also wildly inconsistent: pre-built actors are a strength when they work, but there's no clear signal of which ones are actively maintained vs abandoned, and we've had selectors silently break mid-pipeline. The local dev story is the third weak spot — iterating on actor inputs or debugging a failing run usually means pushing up and waiting for a cloud run, instead of a clean "run this locally with the same environment as cloud" mode. None of these are dealbreakers, but they're the friction points worth knowing about going in.

### Essential scraping layer that makes a small-team data product viable

We run akce.tech, a Czech dance music event aggregator pulling from 16+ sources. Apify powers roughly half of those — the hardest half: Facebook, Instagram, Resident Advisor, and automated source discovery via Google Search. Everything runs in a single daily cron batch feeding into Claude for AI extraction, then MariaDB and Elasticsearch. Without Apify, this project would either not exist or be a full-time job maintaining fragile scrapers. Productivity impact is enormous — we're a small team and Apify lets us focus on what's differentiated (AI extraction, search UX) instead of fighting UI changes from Meta every week. Value for money is excellent at our scale; user interface and Console visibility are solid for debugging and monitoring runs. Minor friction around actor discovery and schema consistency, but these are growing-pains issues, not fundamental flaws

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

- Managed scrapers for hostile targets — Facebook Events, Instagram Posts, and Website Content Crawler (for Cloudflare-protected sites like Resident Advisor) absorb maintenance we'd never manage ourselves. - Pay-per-use pricing — fair and predictable for a small-team daily-batch workload; no idle cost. - Ready-made actor store — new data sources go from idea to running pipeline in hours. - Clean API and SDK — scheduled runs, dataset exports, and webhook integration all "just work." - Solid output quality — structured JSON drops straight into our Claude extraction pipeline without glue code.

#### Cons

- Actor discovery is noisy — multiple overlapping actors per platform with weak trust signals (official vs. community, last-updated, production readiness). - Output schemas vary between similar actors — switching an actor means rewriting normalization code. - Cost predictability for long crawls — a dry-run cost estimator would help budgeting. - Partial-failure transparency — when an actor returns fewer items than expected, it's not always clear whether the source had fewer results or something silently broke.

My overall experience with Apify has been excellent. It has become a key part of our automation stack, allowing us to scale lead generation and market intelligence without manual effort or additional infrastructure. The platform is powerful, flexible, and reliable — from scraping dynamic websites to integrating data directly into our CRM and automation workflows. Support and documentation have also made it easy to grow and improve our solutions over time. Thanks to Apify, we’ve accelerated business processes and achieved strong measurable impact in efficiency and data quality.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5

#### Pros

Apify makes large-scale web data extraction simple and reliable. I really like the flexibility to build custom Actors for complex websites, the cloud execution with scheduling and proxies handled automatically, and the easy integrations with our automation stack. It saves a huge amount of manual effort and enables scalable lead generation with clean, structured data.

#### Cons

Some areas of the platform could be more user-friendly, especially when debugging complex Actors. Logs can be difficult to navigate, and version/dependency updates occasionally require extra effort to maintain compatibility. While everything works well, these improvements would make troubleshooting faster and the development experience smoother.

From a reliability standpoint, Apify has been solid for both small experiments and production workloads, and it scales cleanly as data volumes grow. Scheduling, logging, and proxy management are all handled in one place, so we can focus on logic and outcomes instead of infrastructure and anti-blocking plumbing. Their documentation and examples are clear, and when we've needed help, support and community resources have been responsive and genuinely useful. Overall, Apify has become a foundational piece of our AI and automation stack, and I actively recommend it to clients who need robust, scalable web data and browser automation.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I've been using Apify as a core part of my AI automation flows for my own business and multiple client projects, and it's become one of the very few tools I recommend without hesitation. The platform makes it straightforward to turn almost any website into an API and plug that data directly into LLMs, CRMs, and marketing stacks, which has saved us countless hours of manual work. What I like most is the combination of ready-made Actors and the flexibility to build custom ones when we need something more advanced. The marketplace of pre-built scrapers and automations means we can prototype fast, then harden solutions with our own code when the use case proves itself.

#### Cons

Some of the more advanced use cases still require developer time to set up and maintain, so it's not completely no-code for complex workflows.

My overall experience with Apify has been very positive. It’s a reliable platform that makes large‑scale data collection and automation much easier than managing custom scripts or infrastructure. Once workflows are set up, they run consistently in the background and save a significant amount of manual effort. The platform handles complex, dynamic websites well and delivers clean, structured data that integrates smoothly into our analysis and reporting processes. #### Pros

A marketplace with lots of options or actors, they are rated, documented and can be interacted with in an interface so that you can decide which ones to chose. Apify is essential to my business for the automations I provide to my clients at Fernanz.com

#### Cons

Some of the prices of a few of the actors, not Apify's fault. Not much I can think of that I dont like

Overall, Apify has been a game-changer for our web scraping workflows. It combines flexibility with absolute reliability, and the support for multiple programming languages makes it incredibly versatile. It is by far one of the best investments we have made for data gathering.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Apify is an exceptional web scraping and automation platform. What I like most is how much time it saves me with its pre-built actors and robust infrastructure. The proxy management is seamless and handles rotation brilliantly, which is a lifesaver for large-scale projects. It also scales incredibly well, allowing us to go from small test runs to massive data collection pipelines without breaking a sweat.

#### Cons

While Apify is incredibly powerful, it does come with a bit of a learning curve, especially for developers who are new to their actor model or SDK. The documentation is extensive but can sometimes feel overwhelming when you are just trying to get a simple scraper up and running. However, once you get the hang of it, the platform is unmatched.

### A strong tool for web scraping and lead research workflows

My overall experience with Apify has been positive. I use it mainly for RevOps, automation, and outbound data projects where I need to collect structured information from public web sources. It has helped me move faster on client projects by giving me a practical way to scrape leads, research companies, and build datasets that can then feed into enrichment, CRM, or outreach workflows. It is especially useful when I need to test a data source quickly or build a proof of concept before deciding whether to make a more custom workflow.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The best thing about Apify is how quickly it lets me collect structured web data without building a scraper from scratch. The actor marketplace is very useful, especially for things like Google Maps scraping, lead sourcing, company research, and LinkedIn-related research. I also like that the outputs are easy to work with and can be moved into Google Sheets, Airtable, Make, n8n, or other automation tools.

#### Cons

Some actors need a bit of testing before they produce the exact output I want. Results can also require cleaning, deduplication, and validation afterward, especially for lead generation use cases. The platform is powerful, but beginners may need time to understand actor settings, run limits, and how to manage costs properly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

like that Apify feels like a practical automation marketplace, not just a scraping tool. It already has ready-made Actors, so I do not need to build every parser from zero. I also like that it can connect web scraping, lead generation, data extraction, monitoring, and scheduled runs in one place. For my projects, the strongest part is that Apify can become a research and data engine: checking websites, marketplaces, trends, competitors, listings, and public signals automatically. MCP connectors also make the platform more interesting because Actors can potentially interact with other tools, not only scrape open web pages.

#### Cons

What I liked least is that Apify can become expensive or unclear if the workflow is not controlled properly. Many Actors look simple, but real costs depend on usage, proxies, compute time, retries, and data volume. Another weak point is that not every Actor is equally reliable; some are maintained well, while others may break when websites change. For serious business use, I would still need logs, validation, source proof, anti-hallucination checks, and clear cost limits before running big tasks. So Apify is powerful, but it needs a strong control layer around it.

### The Ultimate Swiss Army Knife for Web Scraping and Automation

Steep Learning Curve for Custom Actors: Building complex, bespoke scrapers requires solid coding knowledge. Pricing Can Explode Quickly: Memory consumption and proxy usage costs can accumulate rapidly on large-scale runs. Platform-Dependent Breaking: If a target website updates its UI, the corresponding Actor breaks until updated. Complex Documentation: While detailed, the sheer volume of documentation can be overwhelming for beginners. UI Clutter: The cloud console has so many features that navigating it feels a bit cluttered initially. Credit Burn on Failed Runs: If a custom script loops or fails, it still consumes your paid computing credits.

#### Pros

Massive Store of Ready-Made Actors: The Apify Store offers hundreds of pre-built scrapers for popular platforms (Instagram, Google Maps, TikTok). No-Code Friendly yet Developer-First: It perfectly bridges the gap between non-technical users and hardcore developers. Flawless Residential Proxy Integration: The built-in proxy rotation seamlessly bypasses strict anti-scraping mechanisms and CAPTCHAs. Serverless Infrastructure: You don't have to worry about provisioning servers; the platform scales your tasks automatically. Comprehensive API and Webhooks: Integrating scraping workflows into existing CRM or database pipelines is incredibly straightforward. Robust Dataset Exporting: Data can be downloaded instantly in clean JSON, CSV, Excel, or XML formats. Excellent JavaScript/Python SDKs: Writing custom scrapers using Crawlee is highly efficient and well-documented. Great Free Tier: The generous monthly cloud credits allow for thorough testing before committing financially.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I have been using Apify for web scraping and it has worked very well for my needs. The platform is reliable, easy to set up, and offers a lot of flexibility for scraping different types of websites. I especially appreciate that the data outputs are well structured and easy to use in further analysis or automation workflows. Overall, Apify saves a lot of manual work and is a very useful tool for anyone who needs to collect web data regularly.

#### Cons

The main downside for me is the pricing model and occasional reliability issues. Apify is powerful, but costs can become harder to predict when runs take longer than expected or when more complex scraping tasks consume more resources. For smaller or experimental use cases, this can make it feel relatively expensive.
