It's easy to automate, and it partners with great tools like Make.com and Google Suite to ensure your processes can run seamlessly. #### Cons There's a little bit of a learning curve, and unless you work with premium, you do a lot of building and setting up on your own. We used a lot of the tutorials and help chat to get through some stuff, while using other platforms to help us set it up correctly. With those supports, we got Parseur to do exactly what we needed. --- ### Don't use ChatGPT for OCR on PDFs. If your time is valuable don't use ChatGPT (it'll take you hours of back and forth to get a simple task corrected) #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 3/5 - Customer support: 3/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros I tried using ChatGPT (pro version) to create a spreadsheet from pdfs with contacts on it (hundreds of pages) It sucked, data and fields were constantly wrong. Found Parseur used it and now the extraction data is nearly 100% accurate and the exported excel spreadsheets are consistent and accurate. Now it's super simple (and accurate) for me to upload data to my CRM #### Cons Cost per page can get expensive, fast. monthly subscription of say 100 pages per month expires after each month. 1200 page annual pay will expire after a year. This type of pay model benefits Parseur and not the user. #### Vendor response What a title, thank you! We could not have put the OCR case better ourselves. On the pricing: you're right that unused pages don't roll over, and there are two ways around that. If a monthly plan keeps expiring with pages to spare, pick a tier slightly below your usage and turn on early auto-renew, it tops you up when you hit the limit instead of leaving pages on the table. Also you may consider the yearly plans that comes with three months free, with credits that last the full year instead of resetting monthly. You can even combine both! For steady volume that's usually the win-win. Glad the near 100% accuracy is saving you the ChatGPT back-and-forth! AI engine was good at detecting the appropriate information. The AI engine seemed to recognize similar documents that followed on later and got the processing correct on the first try. #### Cons limited to Templates or using the Freeform AI engine. You should be able to use both. You should be able to select what pages to process for Templates vs regular AI and it would be good to allow flexible page processing based upon the first page of data. #### Vendor response Thanks Paul, glad the AI engine got those recurring document layouts right on the first try, that is exactly what it is built for! Two good points here. On combining Templates and AI, you are not the first to ask, and we are looking into it, there is an open feedback item you can upvote: https://feedback.parseur.com. On not wanting to burn credits processing every page: that one you can already do today. Parseur has page processing that lets you limit which pages get parsed, the one catch is you currently set it by entering page numbers or ranges yourself rather than it being automatic. Easy to set up and we connected it through Zapier to other tools we're using and everything worked seamlessly (with the AI parsing at least) #### Cons The manual parsing didn't work so well for us, but the AI parsing worked perfectly. Also, we have a very small use case and there was not the perfect pricing tier for our very tiny need in volume. #### Vendor response Thanks Daniel, an absolute recommendation is about the best title we could ask for! On pricing, our smallest paid plan is 100 pages a month, but for a very tiny volume the free plan covers 20 pages a month for good, not just as a trial. It is true that we don't have anything in between, but we had to cut a line somewhere. We're considering adding PAYG (Pays as you go) in the future! I would like six more months of experience with the product before I answer. Preliminarily, I would love the ability to receive from Parseur a zip+4 code for addresses extracted. It's incredibly capable and saved me a ton of time with data input. The ability to also instruct the AI is critical in how much I enjoyed using it. I think that's what Parseur has above #### Cons For an individual, the price is a little steep. I would watch the movie. And thanks for the honest feedback! On price, fair, Parseur is really built for SMBs and teams, so for a solo user it can feel a touch steep, no argument. On finishing a project that spills over your monthly quota: we do not do one-off credits, but there is something that solves the same problem, an early auto-renew option. Switch it on and if you hit your quota before the period ends, Parseur renews the same plan early so you can keep going without interruption. We found it simpler than top ups in practice.
