It is difficult to use in large architectural projects and offline access to the model.

This software helps generating complex 3D printed objects and smaller architectural projects. It helps with with getting the projects done.

The ability to design and produce complex 3D printed objects that fit together perfectly. Also the ability to visualize assemblies and make modifications before they are produced.

The lack of private projects with free accounts is also a bummer, but not a major issue by any means.

Easy to use and easy to understand from the outset. Very easy to create simple models, hitting the ground running.

From the few years, I've been using it, they are also constantly improving the features available and also refining the user interface.

Alongside this core functionality run integrated versioning and access control features. This, together with the simple subscription model make it a fantastic tool for designers.

The cloud integration was solid and robust, albeit only allowing public models and documents on free accounts.

The Onshape product does have a handful of commands which are hard to find even when you search using keywords.

It's got some nice integrations with other softwares, like Simsolid of Altair for instance, and I think that in the future the number of integrations will increase.

The stability of the software has been flawless, with minor hiccups being rapidly fixed by the outstanding customer support team.

Overall, Onshape is great. It helps me efficiently create and design projects in CAD and I have had a very good time using this software.

It is less costlier than CAD and information is generated in safe cloud environment.

We are a non-profit research university, so we use their Education license. The ability to get all the players in an instrument design on the same digital document is invaluable to us.

The limiting factor was my lack of 3D modelling experience. The customer support team is responsive, supportive and generally understanding.

The only other complaint is the multiple selection feature.

Being able to mock up quick designs. Nothing too crazy or complicated.

Browser accessibility, live collaboration, app integration. Being able to share with customers instantly is also a great perk.

Their platform allows multiple people to access the application at one time so design projects can be accomplished more quickly.

3 week feature updates are great the the community support/ customer service is also excellent. Very impressive product.

You don't have to install anything. This Web based CAD designer is super easy to use and runs great in a web browser.

It was easy for me to pick up and learn, and the fact that the software operated on a browser (I use Safari) was amazing.

Great software usable in different interfaces with consistent versions.

Also the downside to it being a cloud CAD product is the lack of offline caching which means models need to constantly be reloaded when experiencing poor connectivity issues.

The software is very tedious making it sometimes frustrating.

Failure to provide credible training. Software is not bought for the technical advances or features.

This is a great advantage for most of the cad designers because they can comfortably work on their idea to make it a reality.

These tools are very common in other industrial CAD softwares and I was very disappointed that Onshape did not provide these services.

I love the combination of direct editing with parametric modeling. The options opened up with direct editing is simply amazing.

Support is responsive, pricing is fine, love the 'pay by the use' subscription format for advanced features seldom used like FEA.

It is sold as a perpetual license (ie. not based on an annual  subscription) which better suits my small architectural design  practice. The software runs smoothly and is stable.

Competitiveness and where ease of use and productivity become so personal to the users.

Support by the software developer, resellers and an enthusiastic user community is of very good quality and highly appreciated especially when one gets into customization.

ProgeCAD is less well-known (although that is changing) and is often unfairly disparaged by those who have invested in vastly more expensive CAD software.

Sometimes crashes to desktop (non repetable though), say once a week. BUT I'm not absolutely sure it's not Windoze's fault (I only have this with Vista, not with XP sp3).

Great Price, very compatible with other leading. DWG software, very familiar user interface and commands.

The trial was a great alternative on an older machine as the requirements were not as demanding as AutoCAD.

It has amazing compatibility with DWG files, which make opening autocad projects on progecad (or visceversa) a really streamlined process.

The most recent revision of progeCAD (10.0.10.8) is unstable and I have had to revert back to the previous version (10.0.6.23).

An excellent (and better) alternative to AutoCAD LT.

Producing final construction drawings. Provides and excellent  2D drafting software to complement our 3D building modelling software from Chief Architect and Sketchup.

Doesn't support GIS shape files and image calibration tools are weak.

The stretch option does not work well  if the selection window intersects lines which are deselected before stretching.

I think it is a good software, After using it over  2 years now i can say that it's a good software for fresh architects who cannot buy some expensive software.

Likewise when working with medium to huge illustrations it can crash.

I believe it is a good solid program. Most of my work is 2D so can't really give a good account of the 3D capabilities of the program.

The company is user friendly and has a sense of humor.

Nearly seamless usage for those with Acad proficiency. Great price; loads and runs more efficiently than Acad (great for mobile workstation use); lots of features, can even do some 3D layout work.

I would recommend progecad to anyone it is perfect fit for a very reasonable price.

Performs all the tasks I need at a much more attactive price. Customer support is much better as well, a bit plus.

I switched from AutoCAD to ProgeCAD simply because of the price difference, however, much to my and the company's surprise, it works like an absolute charm.

Best software for fresh architects, no need to buy expensive software because it's a great alternative to the autoCAD and other expensive software.

Difficult to get answers sometimes; limited tech support; had to re-install to overcome one problem.
