### Most mentioned pros

- Overall, BuildOps has been a valuable tool for our business, significantly improving our day-to-day operations—especially in invoicing, payment processing, and job tracking. While there are areas for improvement, particularly with reporting and collections functionality, the platform has helped us become more efficient, organized, and customer-focused.
- BuildOps is a powerful, all-in-one platform best suited for mid-sized to large service companies that want to consolidate operations and improve visibility across departments. While there are occasional quirks and a learning curve upfront, the long-term efficiency and organization it brings to service and billing workflows make it a worthwhile investment.
- The platform has streamlined our workflow, reduced delays, and helped ensure invoices are completed and sent out much faster and more accurately.

### Most mentioned cons

- Some things should be easily customizable but arent, like the Pay Application. And the fact that once something is exported to our accounting system, can't be exported again if some modification were done.
- There are a number of pages I have stumbled on that create a table with no way to print or export the data.
- Another limitation is the lack of a default customer statement feature for collections.

Overall, our experience has been positive. There are certainly things we learned along the way that we wish we did differently during implementation but overall we are happy with our purchase and feel we made the right decision for our business moving forward. The customer support team is incredible and very responsive when we have issues or questions. They are constantly making updates and improvements to their product based on the requests of their users which is what you want to see in a software that is the heart of your business. We see BuildOps as a partnership and are excited for our future with them.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

We liked that BuildOps still has a week view on their dispatch board, not just a daily view. This is helpful when projecting out work and building a tech's schedule. The technician's mobile app clearly had a lot of time and research put into it and it shows...it is intuitive to use and clean. The one-click invoicing has been an incredible time saver for the billing team and was an immediate improvement we saw. Overall, we also were drawn to BuildOps' customer focused model and the attitudes of their team members. Every member of the BuildOps team was knowledgable about their product and ready and willing to answer any questions and take as many meetings as needed to make sure we were making the right decision and throughout the implementation process. The built in quoting module has made getting quotes out to customers and tracking outstanding quotes so much simpler.

#### Cons

The dispatch board while good still has a bit to go to be great, if you choose to release calls individually there is only one way to do that when there are so many other actions that we are given 2-3 ways to accomplish them. We also wish we could arrange the names on the dispatch board ourselves instead of being locked into alphabetically. Editing an already active service agreement is also kinda clunky and requires some repetitive data entry and could be improved.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

BuildOps was the only product to offer a week-view of the dispatch board and felt like the best fit for our company. Their corporate values closely align with our own and you could tell how much they focus on product support and development. We also chose BuildOps because they prioritize their updates based on user feedback.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

We switched from ESC by FieldEdge. ESC is an on-prem software and we were looking to make the switch to something cloud-based. ESC was also no longer receiving any feature enhancements - only bug fixes and security updates.

### Strong Operational Tool That Streamlines Invoicing and Job Management

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Ashley B.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Construction
- Company size: 51-200 employees
- Product usage: Used daily for less than 2 years
- Reviewed: April 2026

Overall, BuildOps has been a valuable tool for our business, significantly improving our day-to-day operations—especially in invoicing, payment processing, and job tracking. While there are areas for improvement, particularly with reporting and collections functionality, the platform has helped us become more efficient, organized, and customer-focused. With continued enhancements, it has the potential to be an even more powerful all-in-one solution.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

We’ve had a very positive experience using BuildOps for our operations. One of the biggest improvements we’ve seen is in our invoicing efficiency. The platform has streamlined our workflow, reduced delays, and helped ensure invoices are completed and sent out much faster and more accurately. The addition of Payments+ has also been a great benefit. It provides a fast, customer-friendly way to process payments, which has improved our overall customer experience and helped us get paid more quickly. Another major advantage is how easy it is to track quotes and work orders. Having everything in one place gives our team better visibility, improves communication between office and field staff, and helps us stay organized from start to finish on every job. Overall, BuildOps has been a valuable tool in improving efficiency, organization, and customer satisfaction across our business.

#### Cons

While BuildOps has been beneficial in many areas, there are a few challenges we’ve encountered. Reporting can be difficult to create and customize. It often takes extra time to build reports that provide the specific data we need, and the process isn’t as intuitive as it could be. This can make it harder to quickly pull insights or track performance without additional effort. Another limitation is the lack of a default customer statement feature for collections. Having automated statements available to send to customers would greatly improve efficiency in managing past-due accounts and streamline our collections process.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

Needed an updated System to improve efficiency

Negative. I would not recommend it to anyone at this time. Until they get their customer experience significantly improved, especially around migration and general support. Currently, they are very impersonal and have no sense of urgency and extremely poor communication when a problem arises.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

The potential of the product. On the face of it, it looks like it could add value and we have been generally happy with the dispatching...the rest is meh

#### Cons

The lack of support once we went live from the beginning until this current day. They state they have known issues, often with certain platforms, but there is no urgency to resolve it. You have to follow up multiple times to get a response and there is no understanding of urgency or customer experience, especially from the technical team. They seem like all they care about is closing a ticket, even if the closing is this is a known issue and we are looking into it.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

price and perceived ability to satisfy are needs just as well. Also, considered customization, which is not as robust as indicated during the sales process.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

Our product was actually AppWright but not listed in the drop down. More features, functionality and manual processes, or so we thought

Implementation is long and hard but once you move through it, you will start to see the benefits. BuildOps is continually improving and does listen to customers in planning for improvements. The software has allowed us to move to a paperless system as well.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like how streamlined it is, how easy it is to see job costs and ease of invoicing. It has cut down on our time to invoice greatly. We have also increased our quoted repairs as the quote to job feature is seamless.

#### Cons

I think the PR area is weaker and I wish the Purchasing module allowed you to pick the payment date or offered better terms.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

Better working flow between modules than sage.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

They were sunsetting CRE. We decided to move to a system that is more integrated and streamlined.

I love BuildOps, his Dashboard, the notes that you can leave on everything, the project dashboard, almost everything!!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The dashboard are easily customizable! Once it is setup you don't have to spend hours searching for some information. Also, [sensitive content hidden] is so helpfull! for small question he always have the right answer so we don't need to bother support only for small information! Support is quick to reply (sometimes less than 10 minutes and I've been answered! ) The payments section is clear and easily useable by seeing all invoices for one customer and to keep track of the payment if a payment agreement is done with a customer. When we sent Live with BuildOps, it took me only a week to learn how to use it!

#### Cons

Some things should be easily customizable but arent, like the Pay Application. And the fact that once something is exported to our accounting system, can't be exported again if some modification were done.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

Maestro was no longer what we needed for the volume of operation that keeps growing

#### Cons

Project functions need a bit more development. They can be clunky and not in line with how quoting is performed in the platform.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

Construction and service operations were handled under the same platform.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

Looking for a more progressive, user friendly platform

I do like buildops - not sure what happened but the phone support has been horrible. Seems like the people on the line don't know the product and have to call back constantly. It wasn't like that when we first started

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5

#### Pros

I liked the simplicity of it. It didn't seem so complicated and I liked that. When you are on call you need it to create and move things along quickly.

#### Cons

I think some things should " auto fill" to avoid so many steps in making a service ticket. I also think it's lacking like a reminder pop up or like quick reference for customers

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

no I didn't I was just affected by it - since i am the dispatcher

So far it has been amazing. As we continue to grow our company we are looking for ways to improve on the office and field side. We are currently looking at developing Coast through BuildOps as well.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The accessibility it is from both desktop and mobile side. It allows me to dispatch and assign calls from anywhere, which as a dispatcher is amazing.

#### Cons

A major downfall we are running into is how our accounting software integrates with BuildOps. We have been live for about a year and we are still struggling with making it more efficient on the accounting side of our business.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

Easier field use, more information, quicker turnaround from the field to the office.

#### Pros

Dispatch Search features for job, project, PO, etc. Time tracking Ability to quote jobs within BuildOps Job cost reports

#### Cons

Lack of AP Automation. Most of the large third party AP automation providers integrate with Sage Intacct but none integrates with BuildOps. AP Automation would be an excellent addition to Buildops. Also, it would be helpful if BuildOps calculated the open $ amounts on PO's. Currently, we have to manually subtract the receipts from the PO amount.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

Ventus was a sub par ERP. BuildOps check a lot of the boxes we were looking for in terms of technology and contractor software.

It has been a way easier system than our previous CRM. Learning to use it was a quicker adjustment than expected and the esthetics of BuildOps is pleasing.

#### Cons

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

We enjoyed the team at BuildOps as well as the product and abilities it gave us.

#### Cons

There is some bugs from time to time and sometimes support is a little slow to solve the problem.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

Buildops seemed to be more geared toward commerical contractors than the others.

GREAT Implimentaion and learning of new software is always going to be stressful, but in my opionion this experience did not have me overwhelmed, everything was explained, no question was too stupid (and I asked alot of questions), and not affraid to say if they don't know the answer.....but they will find it for you I wouldn't say it was a fun experience, but we had some fun during the process. The team at BuildOps come with knowledge and great personalities. The follow up and support is great.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The intergration between the mobile/technicians and the Office/web has provided us with the ability to monitor job status & invoice in a more timely manner with less time/material errors. Dispatching is easy and is instantanious to the tech. Ability to add job notes and forms, customer notes & property notes is very helpful. Great Customer service - advising of updates, support for issues with timely response, willingness to take customer/user ideas for future enhancements and making continuous improvements to the system. The efficiency of the program (over the last one used) probably save the hiring of a person in the office.

#### Cons

Overall theres nothing major on the dislike list, there are a few places that still need tweaking Defaulting tax, vendor section could be better (but is functional), better admin access to certain functions and template designs would be a plus Implimentation had a few problems the biggest one to overcome was we were set to switch just as covid shut down the world, so we went from having on site to remote set up. BuildOps manged to get it all set up, train the staff via zoom and lots of calls and we were up and running within the timelines provided. We did experience a few issues with the accounting because of the previous software but BuildOps worked with us and found the right people to help with the situation

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

Management reviewed many options, when it was narrowed down to a couple I was included in the final review. BuildOps integration with mobile, comprehensive dispatch board, customer set up and invoicing sold me. Management and accounting liked the intergration with Quick Books ( used prior to switch to Jonas)

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

The product we were using was not user friendly, did not have a fully functional mobile aspect (not app based) had many redundacies and limited functionality, constant errors after updates and limited customer service made us start reconsidering ( only a year in)

BuildOps is a great partner. Everyone we've worked with so far has been extremely helpful and knowledgable about the product. We couldn't be more happy with choosing BuildOps.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Being that this was our third service software, we wanted to be positive that this was the right fit before signing up. The sales team was very honest from the beginning, which we really appreciated. They took more of a consultant role showing us what features would greatly help us and also explained some of the features that may not work for us. Once we were comfortable moving forward, the implementation team took over, and guided us through setting everything up for success. The implementation process was miles ahead of the other companies we worked with. We got many training sessions, and a dedicated person to manage our implementation of the product. Implementation took a couple months to get everything set up, as well as get us trained since the software has so many features and is extremely customizable, but it was well worth the wait. We have now been live with the software for about 2 months. We have streamlined our operations in nearly every aspect in just a couple months. The amount of time saved from avoiding double entry in Quickbooks online is huge. The software has everything we need (and a lot more), and it just works. It's hard to believe we worked any other way at this point.

#### Cons

No real cons so far. There has been a couple minor hiccups since we've started but tech support always responded extremly quick and got the issues resolved.

#### Reasons for switching to BuildOps

The other companies did not have the right features for us, and some of the features did not work as well as intended.

Overall a great system that has improved our company's recordkeeping accuracy and helped our business take on additional customers with ease. The issues we have are typically minor and can be worked around or ignored when necessary. The BuildOps team is always open to suggestions and does work to put them onto future software releases when enough of their customers are interested. BuildOps is the best commercial-focused software on the market.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

BuildOps has been great for improving our workflows, recordkeeping, and reporting. Fairly easy for technicians to learn the mobile app and it has greatly improved communication between technicians and the office. It has also reduced our lag time between job completion and customer invoicing.

#### Cons

Some areas of functionality where users with full permissions cannot edit basic things can be frustrating. For example, the inability to delete a job that's been created in error and the only option available is to cancel the job and leave it in the system. Same inability to delete a visit, a PO, an invoice, or a quote. Most other issues are fairly minor, like sorting a list of Assets (i.e. RTUs on a property) will not sort them numerically or there being limits on the invoice layout options.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

The other options we found were very residential-oriented and did not have the functionality we needed as a commercial-only company. BuildOps was much better suited to our needs.

I could not be happier with my decision to enter a partnership with Buildops. They have exceeded our expectation with streamline design, integration with our previous software and Quickbooks and most of all the customer support is prompt and professional. I highly recommend Buildops because they are consistently innovating with the newest technology. Their Platform has allowed our company to streamline and become more efficient with our processes. They are always open for the client to give suggestions on how to make their product better. Their overall product is top-notch, but more over, they understand and care about their clients needs!

#### Cons

The support that BuildOps provides is best in class. I cannot say that about any other company that we have partnered with. Someone is always there in a very timely manner.

#### Cons

We run into glitches quite often, which are typically fixed quickly with follow up on progress along the way. There are quite a few features we are still hoping will be added through collaboration with multiple teams throughout BuildOps. Since starting with BuildOps, many useful features have been added. I'm always excited to see what is next!

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

Honesty. BuildOps was very honest and sold us on growing with the Company and contributing to building a product that will work for our company and many others in the trades.

BuildOps allowed and supported us to move from the early 2000s to the current decade. We had a large jump to make - from dirty and data to implementing a new accounting software at the same time - and BuildOps' implementation manager put in long hours to make sure we could hit the ground running at launch. Then, their success manager has continued to make sure we can get up to speed and effectively use the tools BuildOps has to offer, as well as prepare us for new features as they roll out.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

As a service/construction hybrid company, we need software that is both comprehensive and flexible. BuildOps allows us to maintain separate records for customers and associated properties/sites, schedule and manage our workforce, and organize our service and construction accounting. BuildOps can build and generate custom documents, including forms, quotes, invoices, service agreements, and purchase orders with intuitive editing tools. The search bar is "smart" and capable of finding almost every piece of information entered in the system, from partial addresses to phrases mentioned in notes. The dispatch board is intuitive, clear, and easy to update. With the large amount of customization available, my favorite feature is BuildOps' ability (on PC) to filter most information and to save them as views for each user's needs. The filters function similar to those in Excel tables, and are able to compound. This allows us to create wide overviews for a whole section of our business or narrow views to manage specific workflows. As I have only used BuildOps for a few months, I feel that I only have more to look forward to as I continue to explore its capabilities.

#### Cons

My main gripe with BuildOps is that it is a young software. Despite the fact that BuildOps has most features we need, there are times where I find features that need to be expanded or streamlined. For example, mobile dispatch can not search for customer or job information, site assets are not bulk import-able, and service agreements take a lot of fine tuning. However, BuildOps is growing and improving all aspects rapidly. Within just a few months, BuildOps has implemented multiple improvements and squashed many bugs we presented.

BuildOps has helped us get to the next level of professionalism with our customers. I look forward to growing our business with BuildOps.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like the easy to use scheduling and dispatching feature. This has made us more efficient with our scheduling. To be able to uploaded job specific forms for the techs to use and return is priceless feature for us.

#### Cons

The only negative at this time is we can't easily implement our job numbers into BuildOps. I would love to be able to use a specific job numbering system within BuildOps.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

BuildOps is more dialed in for the construction industry. Many of the other systems don't think like we do in the construction world. BuildOps has tons of features that were well implemented with construction in mind. Other systems typically need a third party add on where BuildOps just works right out of the box.

I've been using BuildOps mainly to consolidate our field reports and it was easy to do. The step by step guides are easy to follow. You can easily get a hang f working around the system itself. There are also channels where you can get information you need like their support centers, email updates and the communities.

It is very easy to use, straightforward and there almost 0 lag when it comes to task processing. Also I like their support center - the techs are very responsive and helpful.

#### Cons

Maybe the issues reported from Mobile App users. Have not experienced it yet but with my experience I can't think of any cons at the moment.

### User friendly/great work flow for commercial contractors

I was hesitant first as BuildOps is a newer software out there, so I tried a different software first, did not work for us. It was residential based and workflows seemed more difficult than current work flows. I revisited BuildOps, made the move, and have never looked back. Customer service/support/continued improvements and features are awesome. They listen and are continuing to prioritize and add features. The project side is a new feature since we started and WIP reporting is made that much easier.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The most impactful features of BuildOps, ease of use. Workflow works for us. Utilizing different job views based on status. Job costing feature to invoicing a plus. Work order/job report separate from invoice. Ability to toggle on/off what is needed on job report. The WIP reporting for projects, amazing, plus for me! Reporting from customer to location down to asset. Customized reporting.

#### Cons

There is no perfect software out there, but this software comes close to meeting most of our needs based on the pain points prior to. There will be a glitch from time to time where the Tech needs to make sure they have the newest version of the app or may have to install/reinstall app. Limitations on totally customizing your invoice look. However, with that said, none of these are deal breakers. And with a few limitations here and there, they are continuing to refine and add improvements.

#### Reasons for choosing BuildOps

All software will have one or two features that are unique to them. We reviewed our largest pain point prior, which was a work order outside of our operations software. We needed to streamline and have a work order/job report feature that was separate from invoicing. That was the seller. The job costing feature all in one to invoicing, also a plus. We were in enough pain, we made the move, and it was the best decision.
