FIELDBOSS and Elevators

Two words... "no regrets." The product and the FIELDBOSS team met or exceeded our expectations. If I had to decide again, I would definitely select FIELDBOSS.

PROS

The know field service and the elevator industry. Built on a Microsoft platform offering security and robustness. Accessible from anywhere on any device. Real-time access to data. Power BI reports and dashboards. Integrated with Business Central for Accounting. Views are easily configurable by end users. Mature sales and implementation teams. Customer-focused and knowledgeable support team. They listen to their customers.

CONS

I don't have a lot of cons or complaints regarding FIELDBOSS. Certainly, we had our issues during implementation, but nothing was unique to FIELDBOSS. Any issues or requests we had were responded to quickly. General observations for any implementation... document your processes ahead of time, spend a lot of time cleaning your data, and do not try to implement every feature at the same time.

Reasons for switching to FIELDBOSS

We needed a modern, secure, cloud-based solution in the elevator industry. Our goal was to replace all of our legacy systems (multiple) with one system. FIELDBOSS had the elevator knowledge. They were built on a Microsoft platform offering security and robustness. Their mobile solution was easy to use. FIELDBOSS' sales and technical teams were excellent during the decision-making process.

Business in Real Time and in Full Colour

As an ERP it has been great but I liked to switch to talking about their support team. We have seen the FIELDBOSS team grow and our favorite points of contact move on to bigger roles in the company. We always had a concern that the new person would not offer the same level of support but we've been proven wrong time and time again. The culture they have and the standards they set are consistent and this builds a strong bond between our companies.

PROS

When we looked at FIELDBOSS we realized its workflows were extremely well interconnected. We knew immediately FIELDBOSS could help us improve our workflows, our productivity and our performance. In an industry where pricing is highly competitive our advantage comes from the efficiencies we create delivering our service. FIELDBOSS plays an integral role in giving us the edge we need, providing data in real time and allowing us to see our business metrics in full colour.

CONS

Not much. There were somethings still in development at the time such as progress billing functionality and purchase orders tracking. I'm aware no system is an answer to everything but these two areas were going to be key for us. FIELDBOSS make a commitment to develop these areas and they are now an integral part of our FIELDBOSS experience.

Reason for choosing FIELDBOSS

FIELDBOSS is built on the Dynamics 365 platform which offers the best security and continuous improvements across the largest userbase available. In addition FIELDBOSS leadership shared with us their vision for the next 3-5 years which convinced us they would be a valuable partnership in our continued success. The team made a promise to us and have delivered it over the last 3+ years!!

FB has allowed for a more robust system in the sense of tracking projects, or quotes to WO's to invoices.

PROS

The ability to group items together for purposes of review...WO's, projects, etc. Helps to get an overall picture.

CONS

Some of the titles are interchangeable within different forms which makes it a little bit more challenging to define specific titles...Customer/account are used interchangeably in different forms, but what customer means in one form does not mean the same in the other form. The platform is very open so there is lots of room for things to be reopened and changed. This makes it hard to lock down a point in time.

FieldBoss Review

We have been able to improve processes and scorecard metrics.

PROS

For me, the ability to download data is most important. I like the transparency of the system. We are able to see what is going on. The ease of processing paperwork with views and dashboards. FieldBoss allows us to improve our processes.

CONS

Would like to see more ability to build reports in FieldBoss instead of downloading into excel. Reports that have no short learning curve. The most difficult thing about FieldBoss is the learning curve. For someone who does not have their process well defined it can be complicated. The most difficult part of the integration is the data migration. You need to actually have data to migrate.

It was a full ERP included an integrated accounting system.

FIELDBOSS in the Elevator Industry

Highlly positive experience with the team, we will be continuing to rollout the product to further businesses over the coming year.

PROS

Their team has been very collaborative and supportive during a challenging rollout process. The product itself offers a seamless cloud experience while providing a level of data visibility that our organization could have only dreamed of under prior ERPs.

CONS

Very little to report on the con side. Like all rollouts we have experienced so hiccups - but these are almost exclusively from our users not following the new process set for them during the rollout.

FieldBoss for Independent Elevator Installation, Maintenance and Service Repair

I was an early adopter with FieldBoss and have now been using the product for more than eight years. I would say I have a close relationship with its development team and have very much enjoyed working with them as the solution has become what it is today.

PROS

FieldBoss is based upon the robust and ever improving Microsoft Dynamics platform which is highly customizable. The FieldBoss Team listen to the issues that matter to building services contractors and find ways to improve the product through regular upgrades. Support is always quick to respond and provide accurate and detailed response to solve operational problems, which are usually caused by the user's incomplete data or failure to follow a business flow in the correct order.

CONS

There are a small number of improvements that I would like to see, most of which usually have their genesis in some restriction mandated by Microsoft on their core records. FieldBoss is responsive towards finding alternative solutions to those minor issues, through upgrades or quicker customized fixes.

Reason for choosing FIELDBOSS

I wanted a cloud-based solution that would work well with a Mobile platform. MS Dynamics seamless interaction with other MS products, such as Excel and Word is also a natural advantage.

Reasons for switching to FIELDBOSS

FieldBoss had full integration from its MS Dynamics platform to a standard accounting package and the integration with RESCO Mobile CRM which is, in my opinion, a superior mobile solution.

Specialty Elevator Company Loves Fieldboss

Fieldboss works very well for our company. Any issues are answered quickly and efficiently. The system can be customized which was a major selling point for us.

PROS

Web based access so we can access all of our projects from anywhere. Instant access to project details, schedule dates, contact information. Fieldboss has so many features; endless possibilities.

CONS

There are so many options that training can be come overwhelming. (this is a good problem to have...just time consuming). If I started over I would start with basic functions and then add additional functions as time allowed for training.

FieldBoss review

Very good. They understand what I am trying to accomplish and they are patient as I implement my vision for FieldBoss.

PROS

That it understands field service requirements.

CONS

That it is an additional cost for fillable forms to be part of the mobile platform. That BI is an added cost. Just add this in so buyers don't feel like there is a constant adder.

Reason for choosing FIELDBOSS

After creating a short list of 5 then having demos, we narrowed it down to 3. In speaking to my network within this industry, another person had also implemented FieldBoss.

Platform for the future

PROS

Love the fact that is built within Microsoft Dynamics 365.

CONS

We underestimated the amount of effort it takes to transition but that would be the same for any product.

Perfect for our Business

We are a busy 30+-year-old commercial air conditioning company. Our previous system was outdated and no longer supported. We spent nearly 2 years looking for the best solution that fit our needs. Our research led us to Fieldboss. From the initial consultation to the final product, the staff at Fieldboss were great to work with. They were upfront with the challenges and details we would face switching systems. We have been operating with Fieldboss for over a year, our staff is now on the same page, our customer is receiving great communication and detailed information. We now operate much more efficiently and can take on any customer, project or job that comes to us.
