THE Best above all

Spectora allows me to publish on site without making my clients or agents wait long hours. By the time I have completed the inspection it's all done and nothing to do later. This is what I wanted and what I was looking for. No other inspection software was able to meet my expectations and I did tried a bunch of them for months each before I found Spectora.

PROS

Spectora has been the best business decision I have made in decades. Years ago I was looking for a dependable software, mobile ready with no issues at all, able to publish on site, off the charts best customer service. After talking via email with one of the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] I decided to jump in and haven't regretted. This company has the best customer service in the industry, the best technology and they're very client focused.

CONS

The software is awesome. But the least I don't like is NOTHING!! It's all good and way above the competition.

Greedy without any accountability for anything promised

Was so hopeful and excited and after countless issues in combination with hallow apologies and an overall lack of any accountability on their end I have come to loathe the name Spectora. Literally hearing or seeing the name or logo raises my blood pressure. When I think of how much money I spent vs the problems I have had and the lack of any kind of solution or even effort or attempt to fix the problem or provide a work around amazes me I haven't left. I won't be surprised at all if I find out this was all a game to get a decent valuation and the two [sensitive content hidden]dump the company to make a pile of cash and leave all of us that put up with their garbage with the hope of something better to wait for whomever buys it to fix the pile they leave them with. If it can be done. The only things that makes sense the more I think about it. Just wait and see. They will try and go public soon.

PROS

The only thing I like about spectora is the way the summary looks and the repair request builder.

CONS

The least helpful thing about spectora is the support. Regardless of what platform you are on, regular or their advanced business platforms, there is zero phone support. The best I could get when joining advanced after writing into chat for help and going over my advanced account to ensure I have set it up in the best possible way and to see if I could do anything better was a link to schedule out a call 3 - 4 days later. I had that day off and the time to do it right than. I had inspections to conduct over the next few days, not to mention I'm paying them hundreds a month to be the backbone of my inspection company, handle the scheduling, follow up, payments, reporting ect, and the best I can do is chat with someone? Are you kidding me? There is abosolutely zero flexibility in the platform. For example, I have a license and a friend thats an inspector I'm helping start up has a license in his account. I was going to have him come with me on a few inspections while he got his feet wet and to get his confidence up, and maybe in the future when we were doing 10k sq ft houses and over utilize him as a second. Despite him paying $99 already for his license, I needed to pay another $89 on my account plus what we both already paid so he could join me on a few inspections a year. As I have mentioned I have had countless things that have gone wrong, the reporting system that has been stuck in the sandbox for the past year plus we were told was going to be made permanent

Thought that they were going to have that technology start up mentality that cared about their clients and understood they are the ones that make or break a company. Would back up their promises and talk to deliver a product that was evolving and constantly developing to get better for the end user. Boy was I wrong about that. I feel more like I got boiler roomed and paid a ton of money for a penny stock worth nothing, but all my money is sitting here now so do I ride it out or move on. If your a new inspector, or thinking about moving because of the above, I'm not embellishing because I'm bitter and pissed. Everything I have said other than predictions is 100% true.

Best Customer support Ever

My Over all experience has been wonderful!, I am not a tech kinda person, due to the my advanced age, but that never is a problem with the support team!!.

PROS

The customer support is beyond anything in the industry. It does not matter, what kind of issue or problem I have, or had, the customer support team squashes every single problem or issue. NOTHING phases this team of professionals. They are absolutely the best in the industry, everyone of the deserves a pay raise, with a support team like this, there is no limit to what can be accomplished!!!.

Deceivingly well packaged aesthetics hide fundamental deficiencies.

Frustrating. So much basic customer experience is not just missing but detrimental and counter productive. The mission seems to be hyper-corporatized to efficiently redirect and bamboozle customers into figuring it out for themselves and settling for substandard products, services and solutions all while hogtying them into an ever increasing costing structure to pay for the product their still "working their best on with limited resources".

PROS

The user interface design and layout is pleasing to look at. The reporting tool has great potential. The services integrated are almost comprehensive.

CONS

THE SERVICE. The people are knowledgable and highly skilled at very intelligently and politely deferring customers through web chat and directing customers to self-educate research FAQs and highly generic basic functionality videos. With extensive experience using PoS, CRM, LMS, Inventory Management, Marketing, Design and Publishing, and other software I can say this set of tools requires a ramp up learning period an direct access training resources that are not only not offered but defended as user incompetence.

A Best Inspection Software Ever, Super Time Saver... Rear Game Changer!

21 years ago I was using written reports that were completed on site. When the industry changed and reports needed photos, everything changed… Over the past 15+ years I tried many home inspection report software programs. The program I have used over the last 9 years costed me countless nights and Sundays working on past due reports. My least favorite part of being a home inspector used to be the hours spent report writing. That all changed when I found Spectora. I now have nights and weekend to do something else (other than reports). This program is simply amazing. So many pre-made templates are available. Templates range from multiple home inspections report styles, 4 points, termite reports, wind mitigation, new construction, commercial etc etc Initially I was worried about the learning curve, but that too was a breeze. All the feed back from our customers and agents has been very positive. The customer support is one of a kind as the team at Spectora are always very quick to respond and solve any concerns or problems. To make things even better this software is much cheaper and does more than the my prior programs. My only regret is I didn’t find this software sooner to get my life back. If there was a higher rating, this home inspection software and company would surely get it from me. This software has been a real game changer! Thank you very much Spectora Team… you are simply the BEST!!

There is so much to love this list just keeps growing. Best customer service. Reports are amazing, very easy to learn as use. Cuts report time way way down from other report software. Cost is very economical and fair.

CONS

I waited to give a review because I was expecting something but on the second half of the first year of using this program I have had any concerns addressed in a timely manner.

Spectacular Spectora

We have been able to have one solution for scheduling, reporting, and CRM. We don't use ISN. I'm able to build most of the reports I need manually within 1 hr or less, and I didn't want 2 vendors supporting scheduling. I am very happy with Spectora. I consider them not only the elite, but the best of the elite of home inspection software.

PROS

The software is super easy to use, but the reports are amazing when videos are included. Our realtors love the Repair Request Builder. Customer service is fantastic. They are very prompt to respond. They are also very receptive to suggestions for improvement and have incorporated some of the suggestions we have made.

CONS

Although good, the scheduling functionality is not as good as ISN (this from someone who has not used ISN). My understanding is that Spectora scheduling piece does not scale well to large multi-inspection companies. Spectora is aggressive in making improvements, so this may be a matter of time. I would like to see the CRM expanded to send newsletters and email blasts to clients, clients agents, and/or sellers agents.

Reports -- professional, easy to understand, structure, photos & videos do not have to be uploaded from desktop Automatic emails for schedule confirmation, reschedule, post inspection. Database for clients and realtors that can be downloaded to excel.

Our Top Choice of All Available Software

Our team at Platinum Plus Inspections unanimously agree that we are excited and greatly benefiting from the well thought out software, which is providing 1) ease of use onsite, 2) better team communication with multi inspectors at one inspection (this is great), 3) 2000% better customer service responses and availability, and 4) 100% positive feedback from Realtors and our clients, 5) saves us time, reducing on-site and post-office work to get the report to the client faster.

PROS

This software was ingeniously designed. Every button and ability is a dream. From taking photos, notating photos and narratives onsite, to reviewing before sending to client, to the client and Realtor's amazing reviews and options they have to view the report, review the summary and create an automated list of corrections they can send to the sellers. I have reviewed EVERY inspection software available. Every software company might offer one thing which is unique or nice. HOWEVER, when it comes to making the choice for the best inspection software, which offers THE BEST options in one software, we concluded Spectora offers us exactly that. Do your homework. But, for us, we did. And, hands-down, Spectora was and is our choice. Spectora is exactly what our industry leading inspection team needed to have. Spectora is industry leading, just like our personnel and clients.

CONS

Having a limit of 3 ratings work. But, I would like to have at least one more rating which I could designate SAFETY. I just saw in SCRIBE's inspection software many many departments of ratings available.

Reason for choosing Spectora

Spectora offers the best and most options all of the other software companies offered. Many other software companies have at least one strength. I could not find a software that offered all of the strengths. By far, Spectora offers more of the benefits than any other software. It is the best choice I could find. None are perfect. However, Spectora IS THE BEST CHOICE which offers the most of all available benefits.

3D was outdated and was difficult in some ways. Customer service was terrible in terms of hours and response times. Spectora is state of the art, uses latest technology available. Saves us time and for a multi-inspector company, places the team on the same page during inspections. AND, support seem to always be available and HAPPY to help.

I will likely never use another inspection platform for my company

I do not think I could have a better experience with Spectora, it provides everything I need to not only schedule and keep in contact with my clients, but accept payments for me online and help me write inspection reports with real value. I mean, I guess if one day the team at Spectora just said, hey, you're a cool dude, thanks for using our product, here's all your money back AND you can keep using the platform... Yea... that would make it better... But only just a little.

PROS

After becoming acquainted with the software and system, generating beautiful, high-quality home inspection reports is more efficient and easier than I thought it could be. Not only that, but Spectora also includes scheduling technology and services into their platform as well as payment and agreement signing functionality making Spectora essentially the only software I need to run my entire inspection company, I just love it! The team that put this service together has done a fantastic job keeping up with their explosive growth and responding to customers in a timely manner.

CONS

Personally, I had a difficult time getting acclimatized to the software and all the functionality it provides. Having said that, I also attacked the issue of learning the inspection reporting software head-on without watching any of the many training and functionality videos and articles they have.

I initially liked the look of the reports their software generated and I liked the fact that it was a month to month subscription with no contract, rather than having to invest more money upfront. Yes, I know it will end up being "more expensive" down the road, but with the frequent updates, customer support, functionality and improvements, I truly believe it to be more than wort it.

Home Inspection software

We accept payments through spectora payment processing. It is really great. Most times we have already received payment before we even leave the driveway. In addition, if I have a problem, or need help. Within minutes the support staff is at my beckon call. They say they get back to you within a five minutes. My experience. I have never waited more then 2 to 3 minutes, and someone is there to assist me. I always leave the conversation satisfied with the results. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] are great.

PROS

The videos that are imbedded into the reports are a real asset. Our clients love to see and hear a video when more explanation is needed. The fast reports have had an impact that is unmatched. Before using Spectora, the software we were using was taking us more than 4 hours to inspect a 2000 sf house. Now we average 2.5 hours.

CONS

I really cant say there is anything I dislike about Spectora's soft ware. The only thing I would like better is if I could talk to the support staff directly. I am little old school. And I am a talker. Picking up the phone and reaching a real person would be nice. However, such go's the world. I will say I am getting much better at communicating by chat. Time to catch up with the rest of the planet. lol.

When I saw that Spectora had video content within there reports, I was all in. I also was impressed that [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], had presented many videos on YouTube. I could see that this was a company that cared enough to go the extra mile to provide the education, and the training necessary to help their clients get the most out of their products.

Their product was cumbersome and clunky. It took way to long to do an inspection, and it was hard to navigate. I love the color coding with spectora. InspectIT's presentation was not as nice.

The best software for home inspectors

Phenomenal. This software is exactly what home inspection software should be.

PROS

As much as I love the reporting software I think the scheduling component is my favorite. Having online scheduling is absolutely critical to capturing business that might otherwise be lost, and saving me a ton of time on administrative tasks that I really don't want to do.

CONS

I can't think of anything. Seriously, I have no idea.

When I started my business I used a template I built in Microsoft word that I published as a pdf. The report was clean, but it took a while to write. My second or third year in business I attended a conference and part of my intention was to compare softwares. Unfortunately Spectora wasn't at that conference and I ended up purchasing home inspector pro. When I got home I was excited to open my new software and write a report. However it looked like Windows 95 when I opened it and I was no longer excited. It was not intuitive. I remembered that Spectora offered a free trial and I decided to give it a go right there and then. A couple hours later I had a completed report that looked awesome and I decided to send it to the client. The difference was like using a rotary phone versus an iPhone. There's no comparison. I returned home inspector pro immediately, signed up for spectora and I have not looked back.

Spectora is a game changer

Another Spectora user introduced me to the Spectora team at a conference. That meeting changed the direction of our company. The ease of use and features have allowed us to grow drastically since we switched over in 2020. From our switchover to present day, our experience has been amazing. I only wish we heard about Spectora sooner.

PROS

Spectora has been a game changer for our company. When we moved to Spectora, our team was comfortable with the new system within a week. Our inspectors complete most reports on site. Spectora has given our team their evenings back. The support is amazing and the look to our reports is second to none. I can't describe how much difference having Spectora has made for our dramatic growth over the last few years.

CONS

I have very little to complain about. Service is fantastic. I would like to see a set date to shut down the legacy version so the proper attention can be given to the next generation system. But that is being not picky as our company loves Spectora.

Best Business Decision

Awesome! Any issues have been immediately resolved. One less thing for our company to worry about.

PROS

Best business decision for my company. Everything about it is seamless, easy to train new inspectors, easy to modify template, great reports for clients and agents, excellent repair request builder. Bottom line, saves everyone time = significant cost savings.

CONS

My only regret is not switching to spectora sooner. I wish it could replace our need for ISN, but the advanced features are not quite ready yet.

Soup to nuts Home Inspection report management suite that checks all the boxes.

Getting up and going with the report writer, transaction manager, and payment manager could not have been easier. The interface is self-explanatory for the most part, and chat support is fast and set up to get you to your answer quickly and efficiently. Chat support team is awesome. Obviously VERY well trained.

PROS

In the report writer, the global search feature is a game changer. No need to navigate to the proper section. Just enter a few words in the search bar and get to the narrative you need quickly.

CONS

Some text fields are smaller than they need to be, making editing within them frustrating at times. Use of gray type as a design feature gets in the way of quick reading and efficiency.

Reasons for switching to Spectora

HomeGauge bought out HomeHubZone (my original solution), promising to meld it with their product to create a best-of-both-worlds product. I spent over a year on their Beta team, only to be left wondering when this product would be ready. I learned third-hand that HG no longer supported HHZ, and after numerous inquiries was finally able to see the recent Beta version of their "WebWriter". I was very much underwhelmed and decided it was time to take a closer look at Spectora. Very glad I did. There are a few things I miss about HHZ, but so many other great features that make my work easier and add value to my product. Way to numerous to list here. Suffice it to say that Spectora appears to have been built from the ground up with the focus on building the report in the field, with little to no deskwork required.

Best Inspection Software

Overall, Spectora is great. The first time I used it I was a little taken back by all of the options and it takes a minute to learn. However, once you learn it and get practice at it you will find it's a great tool.

PROS

The ability to use different color squares, circles, or arrows to more clearly point out an issue. The video is an added bonus that is very useful. A quick video to show a rotted fence post goes a long ways towards explaining the issue and how easily the fence is swaying rather than just taking a picture and having an arrow point to it.

CONS

It doesn't give as much flexibility as I'd like with my price list. I've gone to places others won't go, but at a higher cost than the standard price matrix. Or, I might cut a friend or family member a deal. When I do things like this I have to edit the agreement immediately before they open and sign it. I'm probably one of those rare people where an option to put in a price before the agreements get sent out would be helpful.

Most importantly my free year ran out. I had played around or saw a few other products. When I started doing rental inspections for a mentor, he had me use Spectora because it was his standard. Once I used it a few times I knew it was what I was going to switch to for my business.

Best Option Out There- Always Improving

Love this company and the software! So many features!

PROS

Spectora offers a full package software for home inspectors. From scheduling, to automated responses, to a reporting software that can easily be deployed and used while on-site and seamlessly transition to the desktop version. Tech support is great, defiantly take advantage of their help while setting up your software.

CONS

The price is high but I don't know if I would label it a Con. Still affordable ever for a part time inspector the price reflects the features and quality of software you are getting. There is always things that can be added to the software and Spectora is great at listening to its users and constantly implementing ideas.

Reason for choosing Spectora

I was very unhappy with how Home Gauge handled the Home Hub Zone transition. Further more they do not offer a software package that comes even close to Spectora. I love Spectora's tech support and that is what really took me over the top. With the experiences I had once Home Gauge took over for Home Hub Zone I couldn't imagine switching to a company that literally alienated, deceived, and ignored hundreds of inspectors.

Reasons for switching to Spectora

Tap Inspect was too basic for me and my customers. Home Hub Zone got bought out and I was very unhappy with how the transition by Home Gauge was handled. Horrible customer service, users were basically ignored through the transition and communication was convoluted at best.

A Real Home Inspectors Unvarnished Opinion

Overall it's a thoughtfully layed out program with great functionality and few if any issues that rise above a difference in preference from user to user regarding lay out or extra functions. Anytime I've ever had a question I've used the chat bubble and a real person has always answered me within minutes... Every rep has been very pleasant and very helpful.

PROS

The layout. The ease of use. The consistent availability (no server outages or downtime). The fact that it manages almost every aspect of the inspection process, including scheduling and billing. Clients love how professional it makes everything look. Constant and active attention to its development by Spectora staff.

CONS

I have zero complaints and the fellow inspectors that I know all generally tend to agree.

It was the first program suggested to me when I started my business. I liked what I saw and I've never had a reason to look any further. True story. It suits my needs perfectly.
