Using Youth Center in a small department

We are a small juvenile probation department with a small budget. Youth Center has given us an excellent tool to manage cases, maintain records, and storage for documents. It is so helpful for every worker to have access to the same information when covering for someone else is needed. We use the system daily and it has streamlined our business in a lot of ways.

PROS

All data companies are helpful in the sales and onboarding stages, Youth Center included. Where Youth Center shines is the follow up support. Years after purchase we are still getting support and assistance whenever it is needed. Youth Center is regularly updated and we are clearly informed what changes we can expect to see from the update. We are regularly asked for our input when the system is making changes that are most helpful to the actual users.

CONS

Some things may be easier with the system when they finally merge their old and new systems. But we have been given a lot of support on how to use the system as it currently functions.

Reason for choosing YouthCenter

Youth Center was more economical and the onboarding staff was extremely helpful.

Reasons for switching to YouthCenter

Youth Center is far more economical than Ritetrack and the follow up support from Youth Center far surpasses anything we received from Handel.

Great asset for any detention facility

My overall experience has been wonderful. Whenever assistance is needed we get it quickly. Customer service has been above and beyond expectations!

PROS

Ease of use especially when searching for specific events as well as creating reports with all different types of data points.

CONS

Does not connect with other Facilities in order to help other Counties/Facilities to see info prior to Clients arriving.

Thank you for your review! We work hard to provide fast customer support and continue to build on our feature set based on input from users like yourself. We do have in our backlog a feature that will allow a jurisdiction to push client data into YouthCenter (if both are using YC). Data-sharing agreements will need to be in place between jurisdictions to allow for this. Hopefully, this feature will help reduce the time it takes to intake a client and provide some additional insight into a juvenile prior to intake. A must for youth case management

I have found the overall experience with YouthCenter to be a game changer for managing cases. Prior to this system, we either took hand notes or created a work document. This has made our jobs much more efficient, productive, has improved communication and documentation, and the ability to receive data from cases.

YouthCenter Works Great for Juvenile Detention

YouthCenter has been great and it has put all our information in one spot that can be accessed from anywhere.

PROS

YouthCenter can be accessed from anywhere. It is customizable and very easy to use and navigate. Form Builder is a plus and you can customize forms to meet our needs. You can limit access or increase access in reference to a employees job responsibilities. The ability to run reports on almost anything is helpful. YouthCenter is continuously being updated with new features and enhancements!

CONS

It works great for what we use it as and I have no complaints!

Youth Center review

None that I know of.

PROS

I like how it speeds up the process of getting things done such as reports and 7 day reports. The spell is is very handy for our employees. Adding a grammar check would be beneficial.

CONS

It may be easier to use if more categories were added so a user can just click on what they need instead of having to go through several areas.

Reasons for switching to YouthCenter

It was terribly difficult to manuver through. It took a long time to complete admissions and releases. It didn't have spell check.

Wonderful Program for Caseload Management

PROS

Onboarding was very smooth. Any needed assistance was provided very quickly. The system is intuitive and easy to use. Having all the case notes in one spot makes for easy supervision of case files. Being able to generate reports about various case data is helpful to tracking trends and case statistics.

CONS

The only issues that we have had is not being able to use multiple data sets in generating one report, although that is something that is being worked on. There have not been any negatives with this system.

Court Stream

The case management program is user friendly and therefore ideal for training new staff for agencies that have high turnover. The customer service that is available is like no other. I wish our internal IT department could respond as quickly to technical problems as the highly trained and personable BizStream staff does.

PROS

This software was built for the user in mind in terms of being able to configure the layout and build reports as appropriate for individual facilities.

CONS

I really cannot think of a single complaint about this software. It fits the needs of our agency very well.

Two thumbs up!

YouthCenter has benefitted our organization tremendously. It allows us to access information quickly for State licensing purposes and organizes our data through generating reports that we create so we are able to collect meaningful data.

PROS

The customer service is amazing. YouthCenter works very hard to make the software applicable to our agency by listening to suggestions for content, vocabulary, and logistics that are pertinent to our line of work. The software is user friendly and technologically advanced.

CONS

There isn't really anything that stands out as an issue.

YouthCenter System Analyst's prospective

I provide client side support for YouthCenter and have been working with the program for 5 years.

PROS

Customer service from BizStream is excellent and the company is very responsive to standard and custom requests. YouthCenter has a clean user interface and is generally easy for end-users to navigate.

CONS

The design of the UI, font and color scheme are starting to show their age.

SHC Review

It was tricky to switch over from our old data base system but now that we have trained everyone and gotten all new staff on board I don't think we could live without this system. The ease of accessing information in a organized way is great and very helpful to our clients as well when needing to update things in their file.

PROS

We like that we are able to really customize the reports for ALL our different program needs and reports. I personally as the data person like that I can slice out so much information that can not only be used for reports but also for resource development and program evaluation within the agency.

CONS

Sometimes some of the categories are hard to change to fit the language that our agency uses as a whole however the ones that we have really needed changed the support staff has helped us in doing so.

Youth Center

I was very impressed with all of the information that I didn't even know existed. Paperwork that I have been completing for years (that no one read) is now accessible to every one on out office.

PROS

Very easy to use: Once trained, I was very impressed with how much information was at my fingertips. Customer Service: Not being the most computer savvy, I needed help. The support team was very prompt and saw the issue through until it was resolved. They helped me understand and the struggle was solved.

CONS

Not much to say for this except what took so long.

Highly Recommend for Juvenile Courts!

PROS

Data entry fields and reporting. I am not a daily user of the system but supervise staff who are. The breadth of data encompassed in the Juvenile Court/Detention software and reporting capability allows the Court to run countless reports for a variety of purposes. This is incredibly helpful in providing data to external partners and for internal evaluation of processes and programs.

CONS

I look forward to the day when all CourtStream features are available in YouthCenter. Since I am not a daily user, this cross over is still clunky for me.

Excellent Data Management

Case management for our Juvenile Court and Juvenile Detention facilities.

PROS

I like the dashboard. It has most of the information needed right on the "sign in" page.

CONS

Still developing the new interface, and the transition can be a little clunky when moving back and forth.
