Don't Overlook This One

It's been a pleasure to use the software and to interact with the company. This was a great software for us on the free tier as we were starting our handyman service and while every penny counted. It was able to grow with us as our revenue grew, and new features continue to be added that make it highly unlikely we'll switch any time soon. It's a fully functional customer relationship management system, scheduling and field service application, and billing system all rolled into one. We're thrilled to have Yardbook as our partner as we enter into our second year in business. You cannot beat the price point for the functionality you receive.

PROS

This software is feature-rich and has the ability to function for more than just landscaping businesses. We use it for our Handyman business and it has served us well. The interface is user-friendly and the software is bug-free compared to some others that are far more expensive. This is a great entry-level software for new business owners but it also has the ability to grow with you for a long time. It's quite adaptable to whatever workflow you might have. In addition to managing your daily operations, while it's not a full-blown accounting software, it does have the ability to let you track the costs of time, materials, and other business expenses, which are sometimes enough when you are just starting out. The integration with Strip for processing payments has made getting paid a breeze for us and for our customers.

CONS

There's really not much we haven't enjoyed about this software. It's very functional and quite extensive in terms of it's capabilities. And the customer support is outstanding, the few times I've needed help over the years, I get a thorough response to my chat or email within hours. That is more than can be said for many larger software companies out there. I know of some folks who spend hundreds per month for software to run their field service business, and I don't understand why, as Yardbook's functionality on par with any of them I have investigated.

Reason for choosing Yardbook

Yardbook has all of the functionality of the competition without the high monthly subscription costs. We can track service items as well as parts, schedule jobs, and quickly access customer information. We love the simplicity of the mobile app for our service providers, and the way the desktop version adapts to the mobile device when we need more functionality. The invoicing and online payments are great. Also, the free version is highly functional, and Yardbook doesn't nickle-and-dime us for every little feature. They are also highly responsive whenever we need help. We needed a software that wouldn't break our bank with high monthly subscription costs as we were starting out, and now that we are in our second year of business, there is just no reason to switch because Yardbook has everything the other guys have, so why would we pay more.

Great Value, Great Service, Great CRM for our Business!

Yardbook is our go to software to run our business. It does pretty much everything we need it to except we don't use it for our books, we use Quickbooks. I think it can do that somehow but we have kept separate because we feel it is more accurate. Overall it is a juggernaut of features for the price and we are very happy with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and his team at Yardbook. They have consistently improved and listened to us and we have grown and our needs have changed.

PROS

Easy of use, Competitively priced, Fit our Industry needs and has a pretty nice App for our field technicians. From lead to signup, scheduling and managing operations, auto invoice and payment reminders and tracking sales revenue. It is very robust and touches pretty much everything you could need I think.

CONS

I wish it was a bit more customizable in regards to how we email our clients. Some kind of mailchimp type feature. We need to be able to have multiple templates and html graphics/photos for different emails we send out for different reasons so we can just select and auto-populate that template in when needed vs having to copy from MS word and paste. Better lead generation/organization tools like HubSpot would be a real big plus too.

Reason for choosing Yardbook

Value for the money initially but overtime I stay because I feel like they really listen to our needs and work hard on improving and adding features. They never seem to feel that they have arrived and treat us as just a number. They seem to be very receptive and constantly moving forward and getting better adding more value to their product.

Good software, but major security issue.

Yardbook has been a good experience, but I am switching my business off it because it does not offer 2 Factor Authentication. This poses a security risk because all of my business and customer information can be exposed to a hacker or someone who gains access to my user ID and password. Too risky for me, and I have asked the company to set up 2FA, which they cannot offer as of now.

Organize customers, offer electronic billing, schedule jobs, run revenue reports

CONS

No 2FA security, not able to seemingly customize database fields

I found TurfHop after Yardbook, and I am moving my customers to that new software.

Not bad for the free version

It's pretty good. We tried the free version. Many features to use. We only care about creating the gig, and get paid so we don't really care about the other features. Not quite sure how the paid version works. The website isn't very clear about that on pricing

PROS

It's free to use. The Ui is kinda old but it's featured rich. It does the work for many people who are looking for free option.

CONS

It's a bit complicated to use. Takes a while to figure things out. The interface is a bit out dated but it's free. Don't expect it to look very pretty and modern.

Yardbook is great

It's great and I'm so glad I have it and will highly recommend it to everyone.

PROS

Help me have everything I need in one place. Help me improve my business so much better all around.

CONS

It do so much for me but it take time to learn it all .I'm still learning parts as I go and they keep adding more things to help us even more. So the bad thing is not bad at all I know when I'm ready for it I start adding it as I go .

Great software and amazing bang for your buck

Outstanding the company is great. Very open to feedback and take the feedback and constantly improve the software.

PROS

The software is great to get you going. It is perfect to start out and give your company a professional way to conduct business with customers. It can really keep you organizaed and help you run things smoothly. They have a great app for android as well that crews can access in the field. Customer service is best in class and very responsive. Overall there is free version but for free software nothing can compare. We used the paid version to save on processing credit card fees and it was well worth it overall!

CONS

I would say the only issue for us with this software is our company got a little too large for it and started to outgrow it. We could still use it and it would work fine but we upgraded to other software with automations to decrease our admin time. If you stay fairly small though with solo or one or two crews this software is incredible!

It is such a great program. Having the home page and customer pages is awesome.

CONS

The recurring invoice system would be the only thing I could complain about. I would rather they would just send automatically, instead of having to manually click to send

Yardbook is fantastic

Although I have other software that I use for different things, I still refer back to Yardbook from time to time. I find it necessary at least once a day

PROS

Most of yardbook's features are free to the landscaper/lawncare company which, for a new company that is just starting, money is everything and to be able to present professionalism with a software like Yardbook, it was invaluable.

CONS

No real cons other than the payment processing company they use for online payments is very expensive..

Responsive to User Requests

PROS

I most value the functionality of Yardbook and the responsiveness of the team. Over the years I have made multiple requests/suggestions for feature improvements. Yardbook has implemented several of the ideas and always responds in a timely manner. I appreciate that they seem to be constantly looking to improve their product and meet the needs of their consumers.

CONS

I send many, many text messages through the Yardbook system. The 280 character limit for a text message is VERY difficult to work within.

Great software

PROS

Yardbook has been an excellent way for me to keep my customer lists, invoices/payments, staffing, equipment, and routes organized. And the best part as it has been free to help me get started. Now that I am more established I am looking to upgrade to the paid version so that I can integrate with QuickBooks. But what Yardbook offers for free is really incredible!”

CONS

For the free version, I do not think there is anymore they could offer.

yardbook rating

I have used a lot of invoice apps,yardbook is by far above all of them,ive been using it for over a year,and I still have not used all the features it has. I would recommend yardbook to anyone in the industry big or small

Still using the free version and very pleased

It helps make your business look professional and they is a big plus to me.

PROS

The price. Really like the simplicity of the software I’m not a computer person but I still can navigate and do everything I need for my business.

CONS

The app for iPhone isn’t great. I have tried the beta apps. But clocking in and out of the jobs on it is difficult for me to figure out. So I have went back to just keeping yardbook pulled up in safari.
