Life saver and really helpful
This is highly recommended, I'll let my colleagues know about this and it's services. This makes my job easier.
PROSWhat I really love about this software is it really helps in document storage, file sharing and compliance tracking. This really helps to make my job easier.
CONSI don't have least experience in this software, I must say that the subscription price is really worth it.

Tons of potential, undelivered
Inspirational and disappointing. Through Automio and its [sensitive content hidden], I discovered the potential for using automation to provide legal services. It was eye-opening and magical! Then it soured - instead of continuing to improve the product, the [sensitive content hidden] moved on to new passions. Meanwhile I did enjoy learning about Zapier (thanks to Automio's training) and using it to link Automio to ProcessStreet, and marvel at what else is theoretically possible if I had the time to do it. Fortunately, someone at Automio mentioned JosefLegal to me, which initially didn't seem as good, but which I am now starting to use in parallel in the hope I'll create replacement bots for the (very complex) Automio bots I currently depend on.
PROSThe ability to create complex Word documents from a bot. The 'tokens' (renamed 'conditions') make it simple to customise documents without repeating a ton of logic - JosefLegal doesn't have that. The 'packs' which use sophisticated looping to produce individualised text within a larger document - JosefLegal's 'looping' isn't as good. Automated creation of 'Tasks' list at the end of the interview - I don't think JosefLegal can do that. The initial vision of the [sensitive content hidden]. The NZ team who led the development, especially [sensitive content hidden] and [sensitive content hidden].
CONSLack of longterm or even medium-term commitment by the [sensitive content hidden]. I don't think you can buy Automio now. They stopped developing it - and didn't fix some stupid flaws (like allowing enforced capitalisation but being unable to include punctuation - thereby making it useless for Irish, Samoan, or hyphenated names, etc). The [sensitive content hidden] wanted no criticisms or 'negative' comments and blocked me from their social-media groups and group sessions after I pointed out that they were giving inaccurate information about the law. Support has fluctuated. The subscription cost has sky-rocketed. I know one day it just won't be there and I'll be stuck - my entire practice depends on the documents produced by those bots. I can't simply export the bots to a different platform, I have to recreate them from scratch, which hopefully won't take as long in JosefLegal as it did in Automio. (The early days in Automio, it didn't really have the capacity for what I was trying to do, and nor did my computer/internet setup. That was fixed, and all was great, until they changed direction....)
Reason for choosing Automio
It was far more flexible, you could write your own bots (didn't have to pay someone else). Although it produced only one document as the output from one bot, I could incorporate several different documents into one Word document as output, so that was not a problem. Ability to include photos and videos in the interview - at that stage, I didn't know of any others that did that. Ability to include images in output - I could even incorporate QR codes into the output. New Zealand-based - didn't have to cope with American dates (!). Ability to integrate with other apps via Zapier and APIs and webhooks and whatever all that means.
