Conga for Plans and Policies

Conga has saved my team so much time and effort by allowing us to configure and manipulate templates around a single source of data to produce multiple unique documents.

PROS

Conga enabled my team to easily create and automate all of the different plans and polices that we manage through the use of templates and highly configurable fields, all while maintaining our specific branding and format.

CONS

Conga can be daunting for new users. Thankfully, they have great resources for training and getting users started with creating their own documents.

NFE Review

Servicable Software, but difficult to implement and expand upon without specialized dev support.

PROS

Integration with SFDC is good. When it works it's smooth and gets to clients and contacts effectively. FAQ & Reading literature is extensive and helpful for specific issues.

CONS

Integration with SFDC is good, but doesn't come with a lot of early, out-of-the-box power. It's rather complex to implement and we required additional services to assist in doing so. Difficult for a smaller company to execute and even the developers stuggled (3 months of issues) to get it up and running properly. For the price, this product needs to be far easier to use, easy to try and easier to buy. The limit of like 10 licenses + 5 for Conga Sign assumes a very large staff doing more than most companies want their teams to be doing in 30-50 employee companies. Also startup costs were high as mentioned and training was a little unclear for a 1st-time user, instead providing decent solutions for advanced users or devs.

Reasons for switching to Conga Document Generation

Integration with SFDC was not as clean. Price was comparable with limitations for users.

Great Tool in Theory But Lots of Functionality Issues

Our proposal team has been using this tool for almost two years. When the tool was called Tinderbox, we found it to be pretty good with minor functionality issues. Since it became Octiv, we've gotten into the habit of calling customer support 2 - 3 times per month. There seem to be more bugs than before. Asset pages get lost, user privileges get messed-up, and the whole tool seems slower and clunky.

PROS

User-friendly, easy to teach others how to use, good organizational system

CONS

Since the tool became Octiv, there are more glitches.

Does it's job, sometimes clunky or in other words - you need knowledge of word serial letters

Ok.

PROS

When it works, it usually works. The way there is sometimes hard.

CONS

Still missing an easy drag&drop template designer. We still work on clunky word templates, that sometimes switch to total format chaos, when you just pull a certain field somewhere else - we all know that.Probably we are on outdated versions, but there's room for development, if not.If you drop in with special characters, data transfer to the Conga server gets stuck / frozen.

The standard for documentation creation in Salesforce

I recommend Conga to all my clients and each project has been a success. The success is based on a combination of the product and your support team; I've had to engage the support guys on all projects

PROS

Conga has a deep feature list, so even if clients start off with a simple requirement such as quote or contract creation, they can add more sophisticated features or complimentary Conga products over time

CONS

As a consultant, I find the merge queries to be very time consuming to get right

Reason for choosing Conga Document Generation

I'm more familiar with Conga
