Support is impeccable.

We wanted to integrate document management, docketing, billing and document assembly. BEC does it. And it plays nice w/ FormTool, another rad product.

Pros

BEC is ProLaw but better. It allows us to link matters, clients, contacts, and documents. I've used imanage, and ProLaw, and BEC is the best solution I've seen so far. I love how we enter a new matter in our billing system and BEC automatically grabs the info, links it.

Cons

Some of the non-techies can have a difficult time at first w/ the SQL-text list views of matters and contacts. It's non-iphone-ish.

High-end and fabulous

We wanted a powerful ProLaw-like solution that syncs contacts and calendars with Outlook. It does that well.

Pros

It links EVERYTHING. Clients to people to matters to deadlines to documents, in that order or any other order.

Cons

It's a commitment, and takes time and planning to implement well.

BUYER BEWARE--YOUR TIME AND MONEY IS ABOUT TO BE WASTED WITH NO RECOURSE OR SOLUTION OFFERED BY BEC.

BEC legal toolbar does not work as promised; they promised that it would integrate with our existing Windows 10 pro 64 and office 2016. It does not work without excessive time clicking (6 times) to open each and every document.

Cons

We were promised it would simplify word styles; after thousands of dollars in time and money spent, there is now an error that requires 6+ clicks to open any documents--imagine the thousands in billable dollars lost daily (all users in firm installed this) by buying their software. BUYER BEWARE--STAY AWAY! THEY WON'T EVEN REFUND THE AMOUNT THEY CHARGED LET ALONE ALL OF THE SALARIES AND BILLABLE TIME SPENT BY STAFF AND ATTORNEYS TO TRY TO USE THEIR SOFTWARE THAT DOES NOT WORK WITH OFFICE 2016.

MatterLink allows you to create the environment you need to manage cases according to the type of law you and your group manage. You can create and organize fields to capture information about your matters and your contacts separately allowing for efficient collaboration and fantastic document production.

Lots of fantastic, useful features

Pros

This software is great because it integrates document management as well as everything else needed including clients, contacts, matters and more!

Cons

It is a little confusing to learn at first but once you have it down you are good to go! Making sure you do all of the training that you have available to you makes a huge difference!
