Great content
SafeStack provides good quality content, for both standard security awareness and specialised secure development learning. The feedback we received from our Engineers was that they were engaged and enjoyed the interactive quality of the training exercises. All of our users enjoyed the security awareness training, particularly the cute characters. As the one responsible for security training and awareness at my organisation, I really loved that the security awareness training started off with a module on risk - it's not something most security training covers but it's foundational and this was one of the key reasons we chose SafeStack as our platform.
CONSWe would love the option to create "groups" within the users and to assign specific courses with due dates to groups / users. This will allow us to better manage our learning on an ongoing basis, as it's a little time consuming at the moment to check who has completed what and there was some confusion from our users about what specifically they needed to complete. We have passed this feedback to our account manager and have been kept in the loop on upcoming changes that will remedy this issue.
Reason for choosing SafeStack
The price point, and the ability to use the one platform for security awareness, data privacy and secure code training. We also prefer to partner with smaller organisations who we can work with collaboratively to optimise results for both of our organisations.

Very good and effective continuous security training platform for Dev Teams
I would recommend it to at least try for any dev team. It is very helpful in establishing security as ongoing practice and rise awareness within a team.
PROSEasy to use and deploy. Frequent topics updated relevant info for development team.
CONSThere are no major issues. The only wish would be over the reporting tool to get updates on team progress and track least engaged members.
Reason for choosing SafeStack
It is easier for developers to engage and they don't need to spend much time on it, just 15min during the break or at the end of the day is enough.

Helping us stay on top of training our team
As someone doing the modules but also co-ordinating the team to do this training it's been a smooth experience. The team at Safestack are great and really helpful.
PROSI like how easy it is to assign modules to our team and track their progress.
CONSNot much to say here, I think it's a good product and not overly complicated.
Reason for choosing SafeStack
It was great to have an NZ based company and training.

Secure Developer Training Review
Overall we've had a great experience. The product/content is great, the labs are awesome (our favourite part). Anytime we've come across an issue support has been really helpful and easy to deal with.
PROSThe labs are awesome - we've had really good feedback on these. We haven't seen many training courses that provide such valuable, hands on labs. Course topics are very relevant to our developers and the content isn't as dry as other courses we've seen. The training isn't language specific, but focuses more on concepts and therefore all our team can benefit from this training. Feedback from support and team is also awesome, very responsive and great to deal with.
CONSWould love SSO implementation Improved reporting on a per course basis would be useful (not just per user basis) We were hoping for video content with the unicorn! The labs reference some material from previous labs without advising this. If labs are not done in succession users need to re-do labs as they don't remember things and didn't record them down. Our users found this frustrating.
Reasons for switching to SafeStack
Secure code warrior was more theoretical knowledge and language specific. We found that a few of the languages our teams use weren't supported and the ones that were had a limited question base. As the product evolves it may become more valuable. However the labs from safestack training are much more practical and better at helping developers understand the concepts. As well as the knowledge and concepts, it's training developers how to think like attackers. If developers are learning how to break things, they'll subsequently learn how they can fix things. And they enjoy doing the labs, it's the right amount of challenge and hits.

Wise and thoughtful training for your developers
We're attempting to upskill a lot of developers to develop secure microservices, so it's a godsend being able to send people to the training to explain why we ask for some of the things that we do. Security is a lonely job sometimes, and it's nice to know that you can fall back on learning resources like this.
PROSThe thing that makes SafeStack unique is the content. The team have been played on the red and blue teams, and it shows. They don't just say "upgrade your dependencies because it's more secure that way" they walk you through the landscape and explain why. I also love the labs: actually finding the vulnerabilities in the labs makes your feel like a security guru. I won't confess just how much time I spent going down rabbit holes.
CONSOne of its strengths is presently a weakness: because it's so inclusive and doesn't attempt to gatekeep, some of the lectures start off a little slow. I'd love a way to make an intro course as optional or 101 level, and perhaps allow more experienced developers to zoom ahead. They have said that there's a learning pathway feature coming that you can customise.

Great product, great company
As a business who has embarked on developing inhouse software to support our business operations safe stack has served several benefits. It has given our dev team easy to digest training, awareness and skills of safe coding practice, has given our exec team confidence that we are coding in safe ways to protect our business and customer data, has given our customers confidence that our software will protect them. The onboarding process was so easy to follow and safe stack have adopted good ol fashioned customer service not just to onboard but to provide ongoing support. The platform itself is extremely easy to use with great tracking of where you are in your training. Feedback from the team has been great with everyone from our senior dev to myself (physio by trade with no IT background) finding the training useful.
CONSNo cons from me bar the fact that purple is not my favourite colour :)

A solid introduction to security concepts
The videos are easy to follow. The interactive challenges are just the right difficulty.
CONSNo major issues. With the new UI if you rewatch a video it sets the course back to showing as not completed. This could well be what many people prefer.

Good Awareness Training
We need our staff to be security aware due to our domain and we need to be able to show our auditors that our staff have undertaking training. Having Safe Stacks tool provides a user friendly why of achieving this.
PROSSafe Stacks offering is approachable and this means that everyone in the company can use the training. We have staff in multiple places, with a wide range of It and security skills. The training provides an easy one stop solution.
CONSGiven the wide level of knowledge about IT and security the training is never going to be the right level for every one. For developers like myself there are times when more technical content would be good.
Reason for choosing SafeStack
Combination of the advantage in being online, the people behind the product, and the price. Really as an offering it is hard to beat.

SafeStack Secure Development Training
With so many of our company's customers expecting a high standard of security and compliance, SafeStack's content ensures my team are trained in best practice at every level from junior through to senior software contributors.
CONSThe team administrator features are very simple, which can be good but might mean places with higher staff counts don't have the degree of detail they might otherwise have wanted.

The best content
Sometimes security training is a matter of ticking a box, but with Safestack you genuinely feel like you're levelling up your teams skills, which puts you in the best place to defend from real attacks, no matter what's "on paper"
CONSI don't have anything negative to say...
