### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.4/5
- Customer support: 4.4/5
- Value for money: 4.3/5
- Functionality: 4.4/5

### Rating distribution

- 4 stars: 52 reviews (21%)
- 3 stars: 13 reviews (5%)
- 2 stars: 3 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 1 reviews (0%)

### Most mentioned pros

- Its autoresponders, sequences, landing pages and forms are genuinely strong, especially for creators, coaches, course sellers, newsletter writers and digital product sellers who need a clean system without a steep learning curve.
- Kit also allowed us to gather impactful data on the successes or pitfalls of our different email campaigns--thus allowing us to improve our communications.
- You can seamlessly design in the platform and deploy dynamic elements in email campaigns.

### Most mentioned cons

- I was floored. Since 2020, she'd been using a Gmail email address for sending out her email broadcasts, and then when Google and Yahoo! started enforcing their SPF/DKIM/DMARC rules and caused everyone else to follow suit that's when her deliverability and open rates tanked.
- Turns out the issue was that she did not have a sending domain set up and verified.
- The one client I have who uses Kit was having all kinds of issues with email deliverability.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Kit is still just as fantastic as ever. Their free plan offers far more than competitive software and it's very simple to use.

#### Cons

There isn't anything that I dislike about Kit. I do believe they are still my favorite email marketing platform.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

Kit allows for more subscribers and has unlimited emails per month. Their free plan was much better than the others.

### Best UX and easiest to use EMS

Overall, the product is solid, reliable, and support is friendly and responsive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

ConvertKit does a great job at making things simple. The UI is easy to navigate, and templates are easy to set up and implement. Automations are also very easy to set up with a visual interface. Ultimately, what ConvertKit does better than any other app I've used is: they make it easy to create and send an email to subscribers.

#### Cons

What I don't like the most about ConvertKit is the pricing. For small creators who maybe aren't making a living yet, and are not emailing frequently, the cost is heavy if you have a big list of subscribers.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

ConvertKit had an easier to navigate interface, and made doing the things I needed easier than Mailchimp.

### It’s Not Bad, But It Didn’t Blow Me Away

It was fine, there is no major frustration, it just didn’t really impress me. But I definitely think it would be good for people with less experience.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

It’s pretty easy to use. It gets the job done and there seems to be good FAQ content. There is nothing specifically wrong with it, but I was underwhelmed with it, so I don’t have a lot of positive to say about it. I think it would be good for a beginner or someone that doesn’t have marketing and experience with other tools.

#### Cons

It’s clunky, the user interface seems like it could have a better layout and flow between the different elements. I think it’s kind of basic. Nothing is specifically bad, it just didn’t seem great in comparison to other tools.

### Best Email Marketing Software

ConvertKit has been the best email marketing software I've used. Even though there are free products, start with ConvertKit. You'll make the switch eventually so just start here.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

My favorite feature of ConvertKit is how thorough everything is. For example, there are multiple ways to accomplish your goal, which means you can chose a method that works for you and be successful. The metrics feature is amazing - you always know if your emails were received well from your subscribers. I love the ability to have a series, to test your headlines, and to understand the analytics. The BEST feature is the tagging feature. You can have multiple businesses, lists, and passions but still use ONE product. Just use the tagging feature to give your subscribers identifying tags and you can send them curated emails based on what you know about them. I have used Aweber and Mailchimp - ConvertKit is best.

#### Cons

Sometimes the software can have a learning curve. There are robust features (which make the price VERY worth it), but knowing how to use everything can be challenging . There is a lot to remember. Yes, they have templates and guides and support, but it's still a bit to learn.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

I switched to ConvertKit for the tagging feature. That was the selling point.

We have been using ConvertKit for 3.5 years now and we don’t plan on going anywhere else! If you’re looking for an email marketing platform that grows with your business and subscriber list, and that’s straightforward to use as well as efficient, then you don’t need to look any further than ConvertKit. My team and I find that it allows us to meet our goals quickly, deliver quality content, and all without overcomplicating things. Sometimes simple is best!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It’s hard to find things not to like about ConvertKit. I think one of the best things is that there is no major learning curve. You don’t have to be an expert in email marketing to understand how to use the software. Everything is pretty intuitive. And when you do have a problem figuring something out, they have amazing tutorials available as well as a very responsive and helpful customer service team. Each time I ran into an issue, it would be solved by their team in a blink of an eye. I also love that it integrates with the software we use at our company and with our clients, such as Acuity Scheduling and LeadPages. Finally, ConvertKit has all the features we need for our email marketing efforts to be a success: great segmentation, automations, and confirmation email option.

#### Cons

I think their reporting and their A/B testing could be more advanced. However, given they’re constantly improving things, I believe that these features will soon be improved. I will say that for the needs of small businesses and teams, what ConvertKit offers is absolutely sufficient.

#### Reasons for choosing Kit

Honestly, after having tested out other software, we found that ConvertKit delivers on their promises, and that we can worry less about emails being delivered and focus on the content and conversion aspect.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I love that there is so much I can do with ConvertKit. Their segmentation, automation and variety of landing pages could be overwhelming (or distracting), but doesn't really need to be. Since their pricing is based on active subscribers (not emails sent) and they have a VERY generous free plan, you can start simply and try their more advanced features when you're ready.

#### Cons

It can be a lot to keep track of all of your automations--tagging, email sequences, incentive emails etc.

#### Reasons for choosing Kit

I was able to start on their free plan and the upgrades were very reasonable. Since my mailing list was small, it would either be some time before I needed to upgrade or the growth would mean that my business was healthy enough to pay for the next tier.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

The automation triggers were a little limited with MailerLite, and ConvertKit had much better (simplier, more direct) landing pages.

### Great email marketing platform if you are NOT a beginner.

I'm not an email marketing beginner, but I tried ConvertKit and I didn't stay with them. I found their platform to be overwhelming, clunky, and I did not like the way the emails to my subscribers looked. The emails are quite plain. As an online business coach for women with service-based businesses, I dont' want to be tinkering around for a long time trying to figure out how to use an email marketing platform i'm paying for and I also want my emails to stand out. ConvertKit doesn't do either of those things for me.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

This is by far the best platform for organizing how you want your email series to be sent out as well as for tagging subscribers according to how they respond to your emails (like if they click on a button in your email to learn more, sign up for something, buy something, etc.). If you know what you're doing, this is an intuitive platform that allows you to keep track of what your subscribers are doing and then target them with the appropriate marketing.

#### Cons

I feel like ConvertKit isn't beginner friendly because when you first sign onto there the interface is too overwhelming. The positive is that they give you a lot of options as to what you can do in email marketing and then the negative is that they give you too much options so then, like I said, it just looks overwhelming as a platform to work with. They do have tutorials though as well as a trial so you can get to know the platform before you jump into the monthly fee that starts at $29.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

I was trying out different email marketing platforms to decide which one would be best for my business coaching.

Overall ConvertKit is a good solid option, but only really if you're using the paid version. The free version lacks a lot of the good features. It is priced competitively and once you learn how to use it, it's pretty user friendly. Reliability wise, I've never had a problem as far as I can recall. Customer service is pretty quick and I've even reached out to the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] via Twitter and he was responsive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

When I started using ConvertKit it was a relative new entrant to the market and a competitor to the likes of MailChimp and AWeber. It was started by someone who had used other email marketing solutions and and had tried to overcome issues with these solutions. This meant for someone who was reasonably software literate it was straightforward to use and had some great features, and these have been added to as time has gone on.

#### Cons

There has been an update on the landing page section which meant I could no longer use one of sign-up forms, which was used multiple times over my website. Although necessary for them, it caused me as a user quite a headache to resolve. Also, if you go over a threshold of subscribers, the price goes up automatically...if you go back below the threshold you have to tell them to move you back down. The free option is not particularly great for brand new websites and on websites I have built for others, they've tended towards something like MailerLite initially.

#### Reasons for choosing Kit

Pricing and functionality on ConvertKit seemed more in line with what I needed and had recommendation for ConvertKit.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

Heard good things about ConvertKit from different sources and AWeber didn't seem as good value any more.

Nothing but the best. I came for email campaigns and email marketing, but have stayed for the constant innovation and simple ease of use from the platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Cons

Nothing. Seriously, nothing. Since I have had ConvertKit as a part of my business (over 2 years), they have only innovated the product and added more features (most recently creator profiles and product integration) that I actually am exploring downsizing OTHER services that I use to see if I can just use ConvertKit for everything digital.

#### Reasons for switching to Kit

ConvertKit had better automation features and capabilities.

Overall this is an easy to use, modern email marketing tool that covers all the basics. Great for beginners who want to get going fast. Also suitable for more advanced marketers. I enjoy using this. The interface is modern and easy to use. Unnecessary settings or steps are removed, making this a tool that doesn't require much time to get something created. Good documentation as well, so the beginner can get started knowing the support and education is just a few clicks away.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like how Convertkit makes it easy and fast to get your lead generating page up and running and start collecting leads. The landing page builder is good with plenty of templates. You don't need technical skills to get a page up and start building your list. That's what Convertkit focuses on. It's a modern tool that offers all the basics and a few advanced features. No unnecessary bells and whistles needed if you want to focus on creating.

#### Cons

Pricing starts higher compared to other tools, but the advantage of Convertkit is that one email address only counts once, unlike other tools where a subscriber counts multiple times towards your total subscriber amount if that person is added to multiple email lists or campaigns.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Like most brand new online entrepreneurs I started off with Mailchimp which is free. As I grew my list and my marketing techniques I needed something more robust with more options to segment out my list (not really done with the free platforms). I now have so many sequences and segments that are completely automated and my list has been actively growing. ConvertKit is "customer-based" instead of "list-based" meaning that I can send emails out to specific people who have taken specific actions rather than emailing an entire list of people reglardless of their actions and losing subscribers by sending irrelevant emails to the wrong people. Each subscriber is tagged based on a link they clicked, a form they subscribed through (freebie), a purchase they made from me, and SO much more. I even have tags set up when I'm running a webinar to see who watched the whole thing, who didn't show up at all, and who watched the replay. There are just so many options.

#### Cons

This is not an intuitive software initially- especially if you're coming from a list-based provider like Mailchimp. There will be mistakes and there will be a learning curve. But that comes along with running a business. Luckily, the chat and email customer service is generally pretty active and helpful. I've used them a lot.

#### Pros

This is my favorite email tool of all time, and I've tried many. I'm not a fan of any email blasts that feel impersonal or boring. The customizable templates, audience tags, and sequences by action all work together beautifully with ConvertKit. Highly recommend switching over if you're using MailChimp.

#### Cons

I'd like it to be easier to embed videos and more options for image sizing without coding.

#### Pros

Constant free trainings. Customer service is amazing. The conferences! The community! The entire company leadership, values and constant striving to improve.

#### Cons

It's hard to come up with much I don't love about CK. Integration with Teachable is challenging because Teachable uses one field for first and last name, so it doesn't automatically parse them out. Not CK's fault, tho.
