Great results

PROS

Great account management by [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. Auto bids alleviate the need to spend time managing the bids manually.

CONS

Cost is a bit higher than what it should be especially when the CPC is also increasing drastically squeezing the margin. The business model is not consistent between the traditional Amazon PPC (based on ad spent) to Google and DSP (fixed cost regardless to the spending)

At ValuePetSupplies, we've used other agencies and also managed Amazon ads myself for many years. After a few months Quartile is exceeding prior performance with great efficiency and maximizing ad spend every day. My account rep and simply top notch. Great company!

My biggest business disappointment over the last 1.5 years

Outdated strategy that became obsolete with the algorithm updates in late 2022. Unfortunately, many sellers have not yet caught onto this, as Quartile is exceptional at spending 90% of your ad budget on product targeting ads which do nothing to help your organic rank but will get you sales at high cost. So you can see your sales go up, at the expense (huge) of your profit, and long-term organic search rank for top keywords, which in turn will make your business growth unsustainable. Their software essentially makes your business into a pay to play vending machine with slim to non-existent margin. Their AI tools are a black box, you will never have any input on keywords to target, bid optimizations and placements, and their strategies on these will deplete your bank accounts. Their account managers are great at reporting your performance, but do little to actually improve that performance. Their end-user tool is clunky and looks like it's from 2010.

PROS

I left Quartile after almost 5 years of using their software, 4 years directly, and a year prior via an agency. I feel a huge sense of relief to be done with them. De-coupling from their software and their bloated middle management layers was a huge burden and took over a month.

CONS

TL;DR - take a look for yourself at my KPIs with Quartile and the new agency I replaced them with: final month w/ Quartile before switch: ACoS: 30.3% TACoS: 21.7% % Organic Sales: 28.5% 3 weeks after leaving Quartile (with minimal optimizations and we're not done yet): ACoS: 25.7% TACoS: 15.2% % Organic Sales: 40.9% Revenue levels stayed the same, only 5% decrease in revenue. Dislike everything at this point. Their billing never improved, have to nag the billing manager not to incorrectly charge my account in advance or to ask for a refund on incorrect charges that take ages to resolve. Much more importantly, their campaign structure and strategy sucks so bad, it pains me to calculate the lost sales and profit over the last 1.5 years from their ads de-ranking us on top keywords, and from the bloated campaigns leaking tens of thousands of dollars. They were more interested this last year on selling me new platforms and services, than actually coming to me with solutions on how to fix the existing campaigns that didn't work well. Classic example of a company that grew too fast, hired too many people at once, and created so much middle management bloat and poor internal communication that eventually their customers caught onto it and are leaving fast.

Not happy with the results

PROS

The weekly calls and updates were appreciated.

CONS

The results were very poor. I had better results doing the campaign management myself. I thought that they were "experts".

Rocky start but really happy with the performance now!!

We have been with Quartile about 10 months and have been very happy with the results! The first few months are a little rocky as the system adjusts but if you can wait it out it's really a great system. I assume some categories might work better than others but it's great for Toys and Games! I was just going through our campaigns and there is one specific campaign that performs best of all (almost 1/3 of our PPC sales) and it's on a sponsored product ad on an asin that isn't even in our same category! I have no idea why that one works so well but I know there is no way a human would ever have found that campaign and thus it really illustrates how their system finds opportunities that I don't think even a very skilled PPC expert could find! Fabio is our account manager and he's not only great at account management but also has amazing business sense and almost acts as an advisor on new ideas. Very happy!!

PROS

Love that AI finds opportunities that no one else can find in terms of PPC

CONS

The onboarding is a bit rocky as it take a number of months for the software to start to perform and I was about to leave as it was taking a while and then it all kicked in and has been able to keep my TACOS under 8% since.

Reason for choosing Quartile

I liked the pricing structure to handle multiple accounts as well as the fact that AI seemed likely to out perform an individual .

WARNING - Misleading Claims

PROS

Ease of use. The interface was quite easy to understand but overly simplistic.

CONS

Credit card transaction date: 4/30/22 Quartile was hired to help manage our advertising budget for our book publishing company. They ([SENSITIVE CONTENT] the [SENSITIVE CONTENT]) claimed to increase our sales while reducing the cost per sale with their system's technology. They convinced me that all it would take is time for cost per sale to decrease, which to our surprise, never occurred. In fact, it it actually increased significantly. Our original advertising cost of sales was about 35%, and it actually increased to 65% after increasing our marketing budget by more than 3 times. It couldn't have been a worse execution. They continued to claim that the cost per sale will only decrease over time. They kept using time as a reason that the cost was still high. On July 5th 2022 we asked to terminate the contract and asked for a prorated refund. Not only did they not provide a refund, they said [SENSITIVE CONTENT] they will charge for one more billing cycle and that "there is not much they can do". I've wasted not only time and money. It also increased my stress as well.

Waste of time and money

PROS

Quartile spends a lot of money marketing their inferior product at Amazon Accelerate and UnBoxed

CONS

The company cannot manage a DSP campaign to save their lives. We went from 20 ROAS to 2 ROAS after switching from Amazon Managed Service. Account managers didn't respect our time zones during calls, ignored our requests, and took 3 days to respond to emails. We switched to Xmars and our ROAS doubled from 20 to over 40 in just 48 hours of calibration.

Cannot Cancel

PROS

Acos was lowered but at the expense of growth and sales

CONS

Do not work with this company. We cancelled their service 6 months ago, but are still being charged monthly fee. The service was ok while we used them, results nothing to brag about, however upon termination, we've been ignored. I would not call it a scam, but definitely scam-adjacent.

Fantastic service and company

Fantastic. Our account manager, [SENSITVIE CONTENT] , is always available when we need her and not only completes the existing tasks well but is proactive too!

PROS

The automation makes life much easier in managing high quantity of SKU's.

CONS

Nothing. Everything is perfect, we have no complaints at all.

There Are Better Companies Out There

They are just a run of the mil setup campaigns see what works kind of company.

PROS

The staff was nice but they promise a lot and the results were not great.

CONS

Make sure to read your contract we decide with 20 days left in the month we didn't want to renew but because it wasn't 30 days were billed an extra month for them doing nothing. Management of campaigns was nothing special.

Total disappointment

When I came back to quartile, I had been running my own Amazon PPC at an average of 40% ACOS. I was wanting to bring this down and, obviously, Quartile claimed that the could do this and it would only take a month or so for their algorithm to achieve this. Each month they came up with excuses as to why my ACOS was hovering around 70-80% This went on for 5 months. I lost a small fortune during this time! In January I emailed them to give notice and stated that, if they couldn't get my ACOS below 50% during the next month they should take this as my notice. The ACOS remained high and so I terminated my contract with them. They then billed me for a further month, ignoring the fact that I had already given notice. Their supposed AI algorithm simply doesn't work with the new complexity of Amazon advertising. I would not consider using them again and would highly recommend that you give them a wide berth. They promise the world and completely fail to deliver.

PROS

I first used Quartile before Covid and was happy with the results. I came back to them at the end of last year and their service this time around has failed me completely.

CONS

They didn't listen to my requests at all. I was looking to bring down my ACOS and instead it over doubled. In the 5 months I was with them my average ACOS was over 70%. The 5th month had ACOS running at 75% I gave them 60 days notice that, if they couldn't bring my ACOS down, I would terminate my contract with them. After termination, they continued to bill me.

Expensive - Not good value for the money

ACOS came down, but they start really high and spend a lot of money before the system gets efficient. Their recommendations don't make a lot of sense. You can do this manually much better if you are a small company.

PROS

My support rep was good. Weekly meetings and we would work through my goals.

CONS

They take a long time to get efficient. And, you have to watch them and tell them what to do all the time. It takes a lot of effort.

Complete Mess

Horrible workers messed up our setup and didnt let us have access to the system until day 5. Then we noticed all the mistakes that they did. There was never any apologies for wasting our money, overspending and over bidding like crazy for 5 days without letting us have any control of what was happening.

PROS

I liked that they allowed us to try out with only a few campaigns not risking the whole account. Make sure you save all your bids before you allow their system to destroy your good campaigns.

CONS

No ability to revert back all the bids that we had before we tried their software. Their software is not able to reach target ACOS. Their software just isnt smart enough on its own and doesnt allow you to customize anything.

Quartile takes Amazon Advertising to Next Level

Extremely positive. Would recommend 10/10.

PROS

The AI/ML give us confidence to know we are not leaving money on the table and maximizing our efficieincy & revenue. Has removed the guessing or "what if" portion of our amazon advertising.

CONS

The mobile UI for the dashboard / website.
