- It also comes with a few other features and functionalities to help with procurement, tools, and scheduled processes.

I have used Epic and Cerbo. Epic was lots of screen changes to enter information. None of that in Elation. Cerbo is basically a blank canvas, overkill for most things, and a separate filing cabinet drawer for everything making finding anything difficult. By comparison, Elation is SO. EASY. Saves time, less aggravation, more complete charts. I am so happy I started with Elation as I have no intention of changing.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I love that I don't have to think about a chart layout while I am charting as the layout is already set up and you only need to fill in the boxes. It is very intuitive and the descriptors they use make sense. And everything is on one page! What to look at a previous chart? You can have it open right next to the chart you're working on. Same with labs. You can write a referral right from the chart and send it straight away. Most user boxes in the chart can easily be dragged and rearranged. Everything is easy, logical, and intuitive and thus a huge timesaver.

#### Cons

When you are typing in a box, you have to hit "shift + enter" to move down a line and not down to the next box. That's really the only trick. A con is that there is a little "x" in the bottom right of a box and if you accidently hit that, everything in the box is gone and there is no "ctrl Z' to get it back. You'll learn not to write long boxes because of this. Complaints about this have not resolved it. No Fullscript integration.

My overall experience with Elation has been fantastic. The platform has significantly improved our clinic's workflow and efficiency.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I love how user-friendly Elation is. The charting process is streamlined, and I can easily navigate through patient records. The customizable templates and workflows have saved me so much time, allowing me to focus more on patient care. The customer support team is also super responsive and helpful.

#### Cons

One thing I would like to see improved is the billing module. Sometimes, I have encountered minor glitches when generating claims, which can be frustrating. However, the support team has always been able to troubleshoot and resolve the issues quickly.

#### Reasons for choosing Elation

We chose Elation because of its intuitive and user friendly interface, which made it easier for our team to adopt and navigate. Elation's customer support team was also very responsive and helpful during the implementation process. Additionally, Elation's pricing model was more competitive and scalable for our clinic's needs. Overall, Elation's combination of ease of use, robust features, and excellent support made it the best fit for our practice.

### Broken Promises, Poor Support, and a Declining Product

Elation is really helpful and involved when selling you, and then the second you sign, it's a different company. Customer service is frequently unresponsive and they won't respond to even basic requests without upselling you (even just access to the API to build integrations, which during the sales process, they promised was a fundamental part of the core platform). They keep building crappy versions of other tools (like an AI scribe) and then refusing to allow you to integrate better versions, because they want you to pay for theirs. The core platform is essentially stagnant, while they focus on building new products to upsell you with (and force you into using). Reporting is also extremely limited (but they'll sell you their custom reporting!). Again, the worst part is that the system seems to be basically breaking down right now with extreme lag times, but they have done nothing to fix this now months-long problem. Our providers have been left out in the cold while on patient visits, unable to pull up the patient's chart, making them look unprepared and unprofessional. They are having to build in HOURS of extra time to prep, just to allow for load times. We recently alerted Elation that we were teminating our contract with them, and they have refused to provide any refund for the months we won't be using (on the annual contract they forced us into), are trying to charge us for basic data pulls, and are only allowing for 60 days of read access to the system after we move off, which is way less than standard (Athena gave us a year). I can't recommend against Elation enough.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

We liked the logical, easy to read timeline view in the patient chart, and the fact that they told us they were easy to integrate with.

#### Cons

Elation is focused on upselling, not making their core product usable. In 3 years with them, they made minimal improvements to thier core product, and their adoption of AI was extremely limited and somehow old school. The worst part is we've been experiencing extreme latency (1 min + to load a page) for months now and Elation has done absolutely nothing to fix it, and wont make any concessions on the very high fees we're paying them to use it.

#### Reasons for switching to Elation

Easier to use interface, better (we thought) integrations

### My experiences after 8 years of using Elation software.

- Company size: Self-Employed
- Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years

I've been very pleased. I've been using the software for 8 years now and I'm very happy with it, I have no problem recommending it. I also appreciate that most of the time they are quite responsive as well - I get help quickly when I have an issue with something.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I like the software for documenting my office visits. It's just laid out the way I want it. It's easy to work with, fast, intuitive for me, and adaptable enough for my personal preferences. It helps me get my work done with the least amount of hassle. I like that a lot, that's what I want.

#### Cons

The iPhone app. Not very good at all. The login is to tedious and it doesn't have enough features. Elation over the years has not really put a lot of effort into making it better either.

#### Reasons for choosing Elation

In summary it was best for me: I liked the software, features, cost, and that the company was a start up with a good story, good people, and tailored to Direct Primary Care. I continue to use it for the same reason.

#### Reasons for switching to Elation

I was very displeased with them, especially when it came to cost for me needs.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

The system itself is fine and works well. Has the same features as all good EMRs. No other positives

#### Cons

The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. It is another EMR made by an MD but created to be predatory to small practices. Delayed responses, no actual solutions ever given. Also extremely expensive for what is provided

#### Reasons for switching to Elation

Wanted to switch to an EMR where you can have a credit card on file. It served this simple purpose. Horrified by your support. You are a stain on the medical system

Though I think the customer service is terrible I still think this is the best medical software I've used. And I've used about a dozen of them. Would I buy the product again? Yes. Would I recommend it, Yes. Though if the price keeps climbing I may have to rethink my choice.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Ease of use. I can teach a new provider the basics in minutes and send them out to see patients. The patient charts are laid out by date and time so you can either scroll or use the search function to find what you need. Usually the information you need is within 2 or 3 clicks. You don't have to scroll through or click through screen after screen to find what you need. I used one system where you had to click through 31 screens to get to the front patient page. With this system 1 or 2 clicks and you have the information you need. If you accidentally delete a note its easy to retrieve it.

#### Cons

Terrible customer service. You are more likely to get the President of the USA on the phone before you can get someone separated from their keyboard and answer a phone or call you back. The help files (FAQ) are getting better but they are equally worthless. You can spend hours trying to find or fix a problem that could easily be fixed by a short phone call from a real person. I've been using the Elation Software over 10 years and they are simply not listening when we tell them they need to answer the phone. The scheduling module needs work. To change a patients appointment you have to physically delete it and reschedule in the new time. No drag and drop. You can't schedule repeat visits for patients but you can schedule repeat visits for staff meetings and such. All my patients are seen every month which means I have to schedule each patient manually every month.

#### Reasons for choosing Elation

Ease of use and the layout made sense for primary care. Rapid access of information. As I noted in another box I used one system that took 31 clicks to get to the patient front page. This system takes one.

I wanted to support a small local company, and wished many local physicians are connected. But Elation EHR is not updating by themselves, and it is getting out of dated.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

East to use. No special training is required.

#### Cons

As a family physician, I have to review tons on consultation notes and labs, radiology, vaccine..... It is very hard to review the records due to the way of chart which is already built-in. If I review visit notes, I have to scroll down all the way to the end...... It takes so long, and my eyes get tired in rolling over all screen. Also this program is hard to get along for this coming new generation. It is hard to monitor messages between providers and patients. When I email a message to a patient, there is no outbox to follow up. When patients send me messages , there are no inboxes. This is out of date. Also problem with integration. Common vital sign machine and scale is not being integrated. I contacted them once. They charge $5,000 per one device. It's ridiculous. If you want to save labor and time, the machine needs to be integrated with software. The purpose of EHT is to make work effective. If the software doesn't support it, it is out of date. I used it for 4yrs, and feels comfortable. But unless the software is updated, it is not worth it. Also support is problem. I have to send a message urgently if I want to talk to someone. If I send a message regularly, I don't hear it for long.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for helping me set up my EHR Elation and integrate it with spruce, electronic fax and labs, it has been a grueling process to open a clinic in 3 months. I wanted to thank you for assigning me to [sensitive content hidden] who made my transition easy and troublefree, whenever something wasnt right she took the initiative to fix it quickly and communicated with me regularly. She even made herself available by cell phone after hours and on weekends. That is a level of commitment and dedication that reminded me of myself as a physician, however, I expect that from myself I dont expect it from others because the world doesnt usually work that way. The number of people that I know commit themselves are the ones that deserve recognition and make the physician trust building experience soar. Since I met [sensitive content hidden] I have told no less than 200 doctors about Elation through my discussion groups and now I am encouraging my Immunology partner to adopt elation through a customized process, something [sensitive content hidden] was happy to assist with right away. My experiences with other EMR systems in 20 years of practice have been a mixed bag, this is the first time I enjoy using my software and share it with every patient. I believe that a person needs to show gratitude when he receives this level of service because it isnt common especially in technical support. It has been an experience for me beyond my expectations and I am pleased. Whatever training program you

### Easy to learn and a joy to use - Highly recommend ElationEMR

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Very intuitive and easy to learn and use. Our practice has been using Elation EMR for that past 5 years and has been very satisfied with it. Implementation was fast and easy with excellent support. I trained my staff with a 7 min screen capture video and they were up and running. Doctors went in without any advanced training. I suggested they see 2 patients per half day with Elation on their first day and the rest still with paper charts. Most of them came back and said, "It was so easy, I just saw all my patient in Elation." Support has been excellent throughout. As the company has grown, support has been a little less immediate and personal than it was in the early years but remains prompt and excellent. I think we've only had a couple of downtimes in the past 5 years and never lasting more than 10 minutes. It does lack some features found in more established systems. These include no health maintenance tracking or reminders and no ability to template recurrent tasks. Nevertheless, it is a powerful system and a joy to use. I highly recommend Elation EMR for a small to medium sized practice looking for an easy-to-learn, easy-to-use system.

#### Cons

Development of new features has slowed as they've expanded. It seems the burdens of meaningful use and other mandates has interfered with evolving new features as quickly as I was hoping to see them.

Great

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

easy to use! I appreciate the faxing feature, ability to integrate with labs/hospitals for lab orders and imaging, responsive customer service and fluidity in uploading documents

#### Cons

The reports never change nor is there an option to add a new report. I am constantly filing Dermatology reports under Misc because Derm doesn't exist! I can think of several other specialties that I have to list as misc which makes it difficult to find. I'm not impressed by the fact that I am unable to amend or edit any of the added lab values when trending. It can be quite frustrating to have to re-trend an entire report because RBC reads 55.2 rather than 5.52 ..erg!! Finally, it would be awesome if there was a texting/emailing feature to contact patients from elation. AND finally, the patient portal - patients are unable to access labs/imaging themselves. We would like to option to allow patients access to those reports rather then send them individually.

#### Pros

Things I love about ElationEMR: - My favorite part is that the writing area expands as I type, so I can see/edit the entire note incredibly easily. - Only one tab is needed for the whole note. - It saves every keystroke, so if for some reason the connection is lost, I haven't lost a thing. - ePrescribing is smooth and fast. - Unbelievably great and friendly customer service. - It is totally intuitive to use. Overall: The product works so smoothly, templates are a breeze to create, the entire system is intuitive, easy to learn and super easy to use, they are constantly adding improvements to an already fantastic product, and their customer service is a dream. Seriously. I once had an issue (that ended up being on my end) on a Sunday afternoon and sent a request for a call back the next day - I got a call back 20 min after I submitted the request. On a Sunday! I love this product; it makes my life so much easier.

#### Cons

It is so great that when I talk about it, I sound like I'm a salesperson for their company.

#### Pros

Nothing-This product was not able to perform the functions for a Specialty Clinic.

#### Cons

Be careful when you sign up for this product. I had a list of questions of what I needed in an EHR Software and was lied by the Implementation Team. The templates in the system are not customizable. They will try to tell you there is a way of creating Templates but it is impossible to create a unique note like an Operative Note. Other simple functions are not included in the system like creating Quick Texts or Private Messaging to Office Staff.

It doesn’t interface with Labs (Labcorp, Sonora, etc) and no billing software available
