Integrated with my autophoropter which is great. #### Cons Scrolling. More scrolling. If I’m using a 24 inch monitor I should not have to constantly scroll up and down to finish an exam element. Fit everything within the screen. Don’t take up half my work area on static information I don’t need when performing an exam. Inability to easily see what is in the practice management side. So much of what we do involves the front deck and opticians, who only use the pm side. Nothing gets overlooked during an exam because the process is the same, no matter the patient. But my favorite feature is using the iPad. I actually really like the EHR part. #### Cons 1. Ledger/insurance pending quick reference for a patient is not visible on the overview page, making it more time consuming for my staff to look up. It also makes it more difficult for front desk staff to look up for collecting fees from patients. 2. Ordering glasses is MUCH more time consuming for my staff than it was with Officemate. This cost my practice money because it ties up staff doing orders instead of working on other tasks. This = more staff required to run my office. 3. The inability of key staff persons to override things in the system. I understand theft prevention, but there can be other systems of checks and balances put in place in a practice. I get it. I have been stolen from but drs cannot rely on software to do the monitoring for them. #### Reasons for switching to Eyefinity Encompass cloud based. The lack of fluidity. The lack of patients statement customization. The lack of customized reports. Not being able to select 2 different insurances on one invoice (per line item). It is alot simplier . I love the comanagement aspect of this system. Some of the preloaded reasons for example a return doesn't apply and I like to be specific. I don't like where the notes are. No personalization available here. #### Cons the practice management software is the worse I have ever dealt with by leaps and bounds. One month later and it isn't communicating with it's insurance sister VSP. Was never set up. THus I have no payments from VSP this month. Lens pricing is slow, not all contact products exist, insurance billing a disaster. No way to seperate invoices for different insurances - like pair after cataract. --- ### Money Pit. There are lots of features that make my life easier - the Online Scheduler, Electronic Remittance Payments from Insurance Companies, Integration with TriZetto for Claims Filing to name a few. #### Cons Nobody likes it when software doesn't work like you expect it to; but on the occasion when that's happened to our office, Eyefinity Tech Support has always been friendly and helpful, working to correct any issues. #### Reasons for choosing Eyefinity Encompass We converted from OfficeMate/ExamWriter and the flow and transfer of information worked best for us; plus we were already familiar with the level of customer service available and appreciated that we could count on continued support. #### Reasons for switching to Eyefinity Encompass We wanted something without a server requirement. #### Vendor response Hi Kim, We’re happy to hear that you enjoy Eyefinity Practice Management and that features like our online scheduler and electronic remittance advice make your life easier. ExamWriter is much better clinically than EHR. For doctors it is easier to follow, easier to document. We wouldn't have change to EHR if Officemate was more compatible with VSP and billing process. It's like EHR was developed and whether it was any good or not, Eyefinity was going to stay with it for some reason that had nothing to do with clinical efficiency. Fax letter feature is nice. Pharmacy link is nice. #### Cons Clumsy, cumbersome, inefficient, obviously not written by a doctor. The iPad version is so different than the desktop version it is like a different program. The CL order and finalizing process is not intuitive at all. Auto coding feature is 100% wrong with every VSP patient. Way too many steps to achieve simple processes like printing an Rx. And the inability to "name" an Rx outside of it's limited list of Rx types is limiting. (i.e. Hobby/Sports is a category. You can't label an Rx "Music" or "Golf". Dumb. Try ordering an SCL in one eye and hybrid in the other. RGP orders do not forward properly. The CL trial feature is confusing when using multiple CLs with multiple Cl types. It is lame that you have to finalize a record before sending a letter for a referral without "Preliminary" showing up on the letter to a specialist. Sometimes there is no time finalize a record before sending the referral during an exam. The need to commit a "Plan" before a diagnosis is not at all practical. It does not follow a SOAP process that all doctors are trained to follow. The body indicator feature simple gets in the way of clinical drawings when drawing a pathology. #### Reasons for choosing Eyefinity Encompass It was better than Maximeyes. If we had known that Officemate/ExamWriter was going to be available we would have never changed. #### Reasons for switching to Eyefinity Encompass Had to.
