## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.4/5
- Total reviews: 132

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.1/5
- Customer support: 4.5/5
- Value for money: 4.3/5
- Functionality: 4.2/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 80 reviews (61%)
- 4 stars: 36 reviews (27%)
- 3 stars: 6 reviews (5%)
- 2 stars: 4 reviews (3%)
- 1 star: 6 reviews (5%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It has also provided better tracking and management of participant and family information--which has alleviated a lot of paperwork for our staff.
- I installed this during my busiest time of year and have already started saving time with the mail merge feature and online donation pages.
- DonorView has allowed us to move registration and ticket sales online--improving the experience of the families we serve.

### Most mentioned cons

- At our organization, we needed to try and fit our needs into what DonorView offered -- which didn't really work for us. And the more we used the options to customize, the more expensive the platform got.
- Unfortunately, because it's out-of-the box and fully integrated, it is not very customizable.
- The Internet was active and on; this was not a case of poor Internet, once again. Because our donors see Donorview as us, this reflects incredibly poorly on us and the quality of the event, in addition to discouraging bidders from participating.

I have loved it. The customer service has been great, they answer my emails immediately. And it has simplified my life treamendously.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

The versatility, I shopped around for months looking for something that would be able to fit my unique fundraiser. Donorview, while not super flashy like some of the others...checked every single one of my boxes. It has P2P, ticket sales, silent auction, text campaigne....tons of different features!

#### Cons

I wish that we had paid more to get a full training up front. I'm positive that there are more features that I could have been using, but don't know of because I didn't have a formal training.

#### Pros

DonorView is very user-friendly, which for me was one of the main selling points. Before moving to DonorView, we used a donor management system that was clunky, convoluted, and overall just too big for an organization like ours. DonorView made life a lot easier - combining a way to organize constituents better, maintain e-communication, run reports for metrics, and seamlessly fit with the look and feel of our website to attract more donors. The support is also top notch - when we have a question or a problem, the DonorView team is very communicative and committed to finding a solution. If we need fields added to profiles, etc. DonorView is very accommodating.

#### Cons

This is likely due to my own shortcomings rather than a flaw with DonorView (I am not trained in web design, etc.) but I sometimes have trouble with the e-mail templates. Like I previously mentioned, anytime I have a question or issue, the team helps me fix it promptly.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

At the end of the day, we wanted to be able to work flexibly with a donor management system that fulfilled our needs as a non-profit organization while providing the support we needed. DonorView has been A+ to work with.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

iMis was way too big for a small non-profit organization like ours. We were not able to run reports the way we wanted to, merge profiles, or do pretty much anything that DonorView allows us without incurring a cost, etc. It was a frustrating system to use.

#### Pros

The program has many options. It's intriguing to have an all-in-one program for the price.

#### Cons

This program is not at all intuitive. Support is awful. We pay for a service plan, call support, and receive an email. It's much more efficient to email, but then the level of support depends on who is answering. We have a three year contract. For two years, we've used the program for our annual fundraiser and auction. For two years, we've had multiple complaints from users, which I've outlined below. When I address them via email to support, I'm told that they will work on providing support but there is nothing they can do to remedy the problem. Overall, the program requires MULTIPLE clicks to complete a task. At least 3, most often 6. Here is the issue from our fundraiser this year, which is similar to last year's event: We needed something to trigger that a recurring payment was entered incorrectly from a donor so we could stop that from happening. We also needed something that would tell the donor that they had set up a recurring payment and it was about to be taken out, so they could fix this before it even happened. Because neither happened, the donation was taken, and the donor was unhappy while we had to refund the donation, which took several days. Related to our event and auction on Sept. 27: Multiple issues logging in to the event module and the auction module. The program would just spin, and then not let donors in. Donors would try to go back into the program once they were in it, only for the program to tell them they didn’t have an account or their account wasn’t verified, but I sat with them to do the verification. This happened to our Treasurer; she’s familiar with how to use technology. She was so frustrated, she decided not to bid on anything. We had 5G internet; this was not an onsite wifi or local Internet problem. Nothing to trigger a donor that they already had an account. People didn’t look at “Constituent.” That’s not language they use. We’ve now spent countless hours to clean up the database because people created up to 7 accounts trying to bid for the auction. I’ll relate this to the above problem that people would reenter information in order to bid. There were no emails to participants and no texting to share that they had been outbid, so people didn’t up their bids. We needed that to happen. People couldn’t complete bids or purchases once begun; the program would kick them out and they would need to sign in again, even if they had been signed in minutes before. Donors would come to us to ask for help, and we couldn’t see any notes or faults on our end as administrators. Some participants received emails that they won when they were outbid in the last minute – there was a lag in the processing time in the program and the email went out. I closed the auction at 8:35 and sent out emails a minute or so later. When donors would choose to Buy It Now, they would try to complete the payment, and it would not show sold until minutes later, or would show as remaining open. We would refresh screens and must complete the transaction for them. There were times where I would try to complete the transaction for them, and it would not complete. The Internet was active and on; this was not a case of poor Internet, once again. Because our donors see Donorview as us, this reflects incredibly poorly on us and the quality of the event, in addition to discouraging bidders from participating. We’ve had multiple complaints about the use of the program, and some saying that we needed to change it if they would participate with us again.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

A former director chose this product and the three year contract. My understanding was 1. it was a complete product, 2. low cost were the drivers for the decision.

### DonorView is Fantastic! Exactly what we need.

We really like DonorView. We came from Giftworks and Paypal, and DonorView is incredible. The system is incredible smart and well thought out.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Donorview is extremely customizable. It is easy to input new constituents, and the fluidity in which the events, fundraising, and constituent modules interact is fantastic. We like that we can do survey's in the system itself and track responses. Reports are easy to pull. We also like that when we do encounter problems, customer support returns out email and helps out quickly during business hours. They have implemented features for us when we request and are happy to help in any way possible.

#### Cons

The biggest downside to DonorView is that support is only available during normal business hours. We do a lot of evening and weekend events, and support is not available then. I believe they do have a feature now where you can prearrange and pay to have someone available to assist in an emergency, but it is not standard. DonorView is also fabulous at implementing new feature requests, but they aren't great at telling you that they have done so! I have absolutely discovered by accident that something I requested was done.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

We liked that the system was somewhat customizable. The price was great. We also like how the different modules (constituent, fundraising and events) all automatically spoke with one another. There wasn't an additional add-on.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

We switched from Giftworks, and it was simply a horrible system to use. Clunky, no event/payment management functionality, wouldn't save information, only one user could use it at a time. The list is endless of why it was a bad software for us.

Pretty good overall. We switch from DonorView to an integrated Fund Accounting / CRM platform only because I wanted a more seamless process for doing accounting and donor management.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Onboarding process was very well supported and integration was pretty smooth. This is a pretty intuitive CRM platform with more features than I got to use in the year I subscribed.

#### Cons

Even though it has a quickbooks integration feature, that process on a daily basis with Quickbooks desktop is cumbersome and could generate some issues. If using Quickbooks on-line, this process looks a lot simpler, but did not try it.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

The decision was a pretty close one. Bloomerang was more expensive.

The support team has been very responsive. I would always get a response to my question within the next business day. And I had quite a few questions in the beginning as I was learning the system! The training videos were also quite helpful.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

We use DonorView for our annual golf outing. DonorView has everything all in one system - CRM, mobile auctions, online registration, event management, text messaging, email, etc. All at a reasonable price. I don't have to work with multiple systems, or export/import data, because it's all right there. I did a lot of research and could not find anything similar. In fact, I had other non-profit software companies tell me that a software solution that combines CRM and event management doesn't exist. I'm happy to say that it does!

#### Cons

My biggest con is that the mobile app needs some work, as we had issues with it at our event. Also, as with any software, there are always new features and things you wish it would do. For example, I would like to be able to do partial payments for sponsorships and from multiple constituents. The DonorView team seems open to new feature requests. And for the most part, the software is quite robust.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

With our prior solution, there was no CRM relationship management. Each year we would start over with a new event, and there was no way to get a holistic view of our constituents. For example, if we wanted to see anyone that was a sponsor in the last 5 years, we had to go through each event page from the last 5 years and sort through the data manually. Now, with DonorView, the data is available with just a few clicks. Also, we no longer have to export data from each year's event into an excel spreadsheet to use as our mailing list. Our CRM database now lives right in the DonorView system.

#### Pros

It has a lot of potential that our organization has not tapped. There is room for us to grow within the product.

#### Cons

I would like more flexibility in designing an event/webpage.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

More options. We needed software that would not only manage our donors and events but would also manage our donations.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

More features; easier to use year round and not just for events.

It was an easy to get Sales involved in several meetings as not all the players were available at the same time. The cutover was a breeze and they even went above and beyond our expectations when additional data needed to be transferred across networks. After 2 years, DonorView is still welcoming our input and looking to enhance their system. This product is easy and cost effective for us.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Customer Support. Some people think Customer Service occurs only when you purchase a product but actually it starts when the product is first introduced. How well the team responds to your questions and offer real solutions tells a lot. Are they willing to answer same questions over and over. Then as soon as the transfer of data occurs, how quick will they respond. DonorView is excellent in this area while meeting the needs of our business.

#### Cons

While there were a lot of options editing written communication, some options I was used to were not there. However, through their Customer Service and Support Team, those deficiencies were enhanced to meet our needs. Great job listening to customer.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

DonorView met our donor database needs, was easy to use, offered incredible Customer Support and was the right price.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

Customer Support and cost.

It was difficult to set up. We paid for almost 2 months of service before we could actually use the software. It was not user friendly at all. While they do have good support, we had to continually rely on support to be able to figure out how to do most anything because their technology is so primitive. We paid for a whole year, but only used them for about 4 months. No refunds.

Our experience has been amazing. The support that everyone at DV gives to their clients is amazing and 100000000% better than what we received with the other software we were using.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We had Raiser's Edge prior to moving to Donorview. One of the things we like most is the ability to pull reports within seconds and with ease. Raiser's Edge was too complicated when it came to reports. DonorView makes it so simple.

#### Cons

The thing we like least about the software is the membership feature, but that has nothing to do with how good or bad it is, we just haven't had a reason to use that aspect yet so can't really comment on it beyond that.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

We just liked it better.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

It was too clunky and I wanted something we could not just use as a donor database, but be able to use for event planning, taking donations, mass email and text marketing and auctions. When we looked into all the different platforms, DonorView did all that and since we are both located in Massachusetts, we felt like going with a local business.

My overall experience with DV have been phenomenal. Before DV, it took about 20 hours a week to enter gifts and get out acknowledgement letters, but with DV it takes just a few hours each week. Plus the letters are automatically attached to the donor's record. When pulling reports before DV, it took someone who knew how to word the "query" correctly, but now anyone can easily pull a report by simply selecting the button which indicates which criteria they prefer. As for email blasts, I have found DV to be just as easy as our previous provider, but much less expensive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

There are several reasons why we chose DonorView (DV) as our CRM when making the choice to switch platforms. The first being that DV offered everything in one system. Previously we were using one software for email marketing, one for event management and one for our CRM. Although the CRM we were using did offer event management and email marketing it didn't meet our needs and didn't offer connection points that DV did. DV offered everything we needed in one platform. The second reason we chose DonorView was because of the usability. When pulling reports, mailing lists, or data, we found that we didn't need to know coding or complicated formulas, we just needed to know how to select a button. The pages are easy to understand and very user friendly. Plus if you have any questions they have videos that walk you through the different programs they offer. Which leads me to my final reason for selecting this program; enjoyable. I have found the staff at DV to be very enjoyable and helpful. Anytime I have had a question they respond quickly and professionally. They offer a solution and will walk me through the process .

#### Cons

I haven't found anything that is missing from this CRM. We have only been using less than a year, and when I think they are missing something, I call about it and they show me where I can do what I want.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

The variety of features. The pricing.

#### Reasons for switching to DonorView

We needed something that was more user friendly and more cost effective.

For the most part, Donorview is easy to learn and it serves our purposes well. Their customer service department responds very quickly if an issue arises and offers great support. Most of my focus is with the email and donor page set up (see above). For email, the templates are pretty basic, but easy to use for the most part. It can be glitchy at times and if you are not constantly saving your work, it is possible for the system to time out and lose any work that has not been saved. If you are looking for a software that is basic and easy to use, this is a great option and they will offer great support along the way. If you prefer something a little "cutting edge" and up on the latest tech, this is not the best option for you.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

For the most part, the overall system is user-friendly. I appreciate the amount of information that can be accessed within a constituent profile. It is easy to find. Also, having the ability to clone a prior email and edit rather than creating a new one each time has been a great time-saver. I also appreciate the email analytics offered.

#### Cons

The donation pages are somewhat clunky and extremely basic. There are no options to create more attraction graphic design features to make the pages more appealing to a prospective donor. In this area, Donorview falls far behind other software I have used with much better and easier to use design features. DV did offer the option to choose from a limited selection of beautiful donor page templates that could be used for Giving Tuesday and Year-End giving campaigns, however, in order to use them they had to set it up for you and those templates are not available for every day use.

I really like DonorView. There was a bit of a learning curve but you will have that with any new software. Any time I have questions or problems, they have been very quick to answer or to figure out what is causing the problem (and sometimes even letting me know that the problem is me). My biggest problem was figuring out the report function (I still have some problems but again I just send an email and they walk me through it). We looked at a few different options and by far this was the best deal around. I am very pleased with DonorView. In fact someone in our organization mentioned about maybe looking into changing software and I flat out told them that I like using donor view, it is very user friendly and if they decided to change it would be without me. That is how much I like using DonorView.

#### Cons

With our previous software our donors could be listed as a married couple but with DonorView (as with other softwares we looked) at each person is an individual and then put into a relationship. Not only did it significantly increase our donor base but it just didn't work for us so I ended up merging the married couples together to create one donor instead of two. It would have been nice to have that option of keeping them a married couple at the beginning of our conversion so that I wouldn't have had to do all the merging (which took quite a bit of time).

We work in the non-profit youth ministry sector and have locations across 8 different states. After maintaining a software that we created many years ago, we made a decision to get out of the software business and outsource all software to allow us to focus more on our mission as opposed to software management. All this being said, we spent a few years researching different software companies all to find that we were unable to find a company to fit all of our needs in one place. After visiting with a lot of the large and leading software companies in this industry, we came across DonorView which gave us the opportunity to find a company that had the different pieces of software we were looking for that was all under one roof like donor tracking/management, tracking leader to student interactions, event registration, email communication and much more.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The best part about DonorView for our organization is that it fills our need of being an all-in-one software that allows us to do donor tracking/processing/management, event registration, email communication, student and volunteer tracking, and much more.

#### Cons

The thing we like least about DonorView is that it is taking us a little while to get used to a new system and we have found things along the way that needed slight adjustments to make them work for our specific needs. Though this has been a small hurdle for our organization, DonorView has been very helpful in providing continued training and has been very willing to work with us to make the software work for us.

#### Pros

Fairly easy to use. Onboarding was great as well as their website builder.

#### Cons

I couldn’t afford the full support package and getting help is hard through emails only. I prefer to talk to customer support.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

The organization we support has it. I felt if they needed access to our system they would already be familiar.

Having all donor information in one spot with donation to donation tracking, reporting, and communication options. Many capabilities within this one aspect of the software

#### Cons

We have not integrated with QuickBooks yet. We used online auction with mobile bidding in its early stages and there were some hiccups - fortunately the Donor View team made some updates and we are very excited to use it again and again!

Having one database that performs the same functions as our previous three, it is extremely user friendly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

So far, myself and my organization has had a great experience with Donorview. The transition period was very simple from our old database since Donorview provided ample support and answered all of our questions and concerns over the transition while also merging our data very quickly. Whenever we have any questions or issues the support team quickly responds and helps resolve any issues. My team and I are always excited to see the new features and updates donorview creates as it is always bigger and better. Thank you to the donorview team for such an amazing diverse software!

#### Cons

The reporting is the part that we struggle the most with, it is not as robust as our old database so that has been a struggle in terms of acquiring donor retention reports with ease. I know that this will soon be an issue of the past as the software continues to develop.

Everything is in one place. We were able to combine a few of our software programs into one.

#### Pros

I like the great customer service. They are very responsive to our needs. We have been with Donorview for a few years. We are happy that they take our suggestions seriously and are able to add features to the software as we have needed them. It has been very helpful. We like Donorview because we were able to combine multiple softwares we were using and now just have one.

#### Cons

I wish that we could use our current ACH provider for online donations. This would save us cost and additional paperwork.

Customer service and tech support is responsive and very helpful.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Covers many different areas of a non-profit's daily database, fundraising and marketing needs all in one place- one-stop shopping is great!

#### Cons

Email program and reporting is tricky, not as intuitive. Sometimes takes longer than needed. Also, does not allow PDF attachments or embedding which is tricky. These features should hopefully be coming soon to the program.

#### Reasons for choosing DonorView

Enjoyed the "one-stop shopping" feature so we could collect data, run reports, send emails and have one home for everything.
