## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.5/5
- Total reviews: 2,261

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.4/5
- Customer support: 4.3/5
- Value for money: 4.4/5
- Functionality: 4.4/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 1,392 reviews (62%)
- 4 stars: 750 reviews (33%)
- 3 stars: 94 reviews (4%)
- 2 stars: 12 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 13 reviews (1%)

### Most mentioned pros

- We also save save a great deal of time by starting with the extensive template library for network diagrams, process maps, organizational charts and architecture diagrams while the AI assisted diagram generation helps us to quickly transform ideas into clear visual plans.
- Overall, Lucidchart is a solid and professional diagramming platform that works well for organizing technical ideas, documenting systems, and collaborating with others. Despite a few limitations, it remains a practical tool for turning complex concepts into clear visual structures.
- so i primarily use Lucidchart to organize research ideas , design systems using diagramming tools, as well as collaborate on academic projects with my professors and my colleagues, making it easier to discuss them.

### Most mentioned cons

- i tried many times to prompt lucid AI to change the layout shapes of all nodes in the diagram , and as always ,the ai reply : " I can't directly swap/replace your existing nodes into diffrent "device" layout shapes with the tools available to me right now .Fastest way to do it manually:" . although , the ai did it before when creating diagrams from scratch , but when trying to update the diagram ,complete Failure , so if i dont use ai for automating simple dull things that takes time , when am i supposed to need it? and it tells me to do it manually...
- that will be a serious inconvenience for a mixed roles Team where only the engineeres can update the charts leading to outdated charts. if the automated layout engine places a node in a confusing spot , you cannot simply click and move it like you do it easily in lucidchart.
- The browser version can be resource intensive when projects grow in size, and sometimes the AI struggles with complex architectures or spatial organization in diagrams.

We replaced diagrams.co with Lucid chart because of it's greater range of features and team collab was superior. Overall its super helpful for us to build journeys and architecture flows.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Lucid has one of the best library of user flow templates it's super easy to use and I also found it to be quite affordable for our organisation

#### Cons

I think the initial set up is a bit tedious but other than that all seemed fine. Some controls are a little fiddly and some of the UI is a bit dated.

#### Reasons for choosing Lucidchart

Cost mostly and also technical skill was lower for Lucid.

#### Reasons for switching to Lucidchart

Cost but also the export features were better in Lucid and had better integrations

Still useful for creating the occasional flowchart. New AI features were inevitable - how much we use them remains to be seen.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Lucid AI has added useful summarising of existing documents and diagrams. Also allows you to describe a diagram to create or modify using natural language.

#### Cons

The subscription cost for the Team plan is a little out of reach for the amount that we use it - hard to justify.

### A Reliable Visual Tool That Brought Clarity to Complex Processes

Lucidchart genuinely changed how I approached process documentation and team communication. Before it, most of what I was producing to explain workflows was either a wall of text or a rough diagram thrown together in PowerPoint that never quite looked right. Lucidchart gave those visuals a level of polish and clarity that made them actually useful in meetings and presentations.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The biggest win for me was how easy it made it to communicate complex processes to people outside my immediate team. As a Customer Success Manager, I was constantly trying to explain multi-step workflows including account onboarding, escalation paths, resolution timelines to stakeholders who didn't always have the same context I did. Lucidchart let me put those flows on a page in a way that just made sense visually, and people actually engaged with it rather than scrolling past a long email. The real-time collaboration stood out too. Being able to have a colleague jump into a diagram I was building and edit it live saved a lot of back-and-forth. We used it heavily for org charts when our team structure shifted, and having everyone work off one live document rather than emailing updated versions around was a relief. The Google Workspace integration also meant adoption was relatively smooth diagrams sat in Drive just like any other file, so there was no friction around access.

#### Cons

The advanced features also had a steeper learning curve than the basic interface suggested. Day-to-day diagramming is intuitive enough, but anything beyond that layering, data linking, conditional formatting took meaningful time to figure out, and not everyone had the bandwidth to get there. And on slower or shared network connections, which was a reality in some of our office setups, the tool could lag during live sessions, which was frustrating when working with someone in real time.

Lucidchart is undoubtedly the leader in its field. The UI is so well polished that it just feels much more comfortable to use. Unfortunately, this comes at a price, and when deciding upon your software stack, this will end up being one of the more expensive purchases if this is needed.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Lucidchart has a diverse array of icons that can be used. The arrows to join sections of a flow together are really intuitive to create and to move. Charts are very easy to share, and very easy to collaborate on.

#### Cons

The product is a little bit expensive, given that draw.io has a free version. It is also tricky to export the graphs from this and use them in other projects.

#### Reasons for switching to Lucidchart

draw.io is much cheaper in comparison. Lucidchart boasts a much more superiror UI though

### My Take on Lucidchart: Really Not Bad!

- Overall rating: 5/5

I've been using Lucidchart frequently over the past year, and it's become my go-to diagramming and collaboration tool—far better than other default options we had at work. It's incredibly intuitive, easy to use, and makes sharing with teammates seamless. I started using it on my own, but over time, more and more of my team members opted in as well because of how efficient it made our workflow. Beyond just my team, I’ve seen growing adoption across different departments. Recently, our company signed a corporate contract with Lucidchart, which will make collaboration even smoother. I highly recommend it to any team looking for a reliable, user-friendly platform for visual collaboration and process mapping.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Very user-friendly interface, even for non-designers for project design Easy to collaborate in real-time and share across teams Flexible templates and shape libraries save a ton of time Works well for both technical and non-technical diagrams Monthly cost is as little as a hamburger and a drink

#### Cons

Limited features on the free plan. But as mentioned, it's not expensive at all Sometimes the format changes when downloaded as in another design software format

#### Reasons for switching to Lucidchart

Easier to use, clearer UI, a lot of templates to use, easier to share, and edit by other members

I've used Lucidchart in the past and I enjoy it. I've also used MIRO in the past. They're comparable.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The flexibility and ease of use. I appreciate all the easy to use templates, and especially the SFDC ERD import.

#### Cons

I don't love the auto-included conditional rules that come in on the templates. I also don't love certain aspects of the ERD importer for SFDC. There should be more flexibility with what we do or don't include on the imported ERD. The tables are also not easy to work with.

#### Reasons for switching to Lucidchart

Company provided lucidchart. I've used it in the past, and my past company used Miro. I had no issue moving back to Lucid.

#### Ratings breakdown

Its look and feel and the way it can easily create the diagrams. I can easily create flow diagrams and also insert different code snippets.

#### Cons

UML is not fully compatible. Whenever a new UML diagram needs to be built , it does not support all the syntax , which is very much painful experience.

From the initial sign up to the creation and modifications of drawings it has been easy and a pleasure to use. The lowest level subscription does open a great bit of features for very reasonable price.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Easy to use and has an intuitive interface. There are a variety of pre-built templates for use that span several project types

#### Cons

There are limited shapes with the free version but that expands when moving to a paid model. I wish you could use the data import feature for org charts in the free version to get a feel for how it works.

#### Reasons for switching to Lucidchart

Costs was the primary driver and the fact it isnt a native cloud based solution

#### Cons

### Lucidchart Visualizing our complex grammar structures.

It is in the best interests of our learning and teaching to exhibit the complex Scandinavian grammar graphically, as a Language Instructor. I employ it to plot linguistic ideas and develop interesting resources of study. An extremely strong diagramming tool, the limits placed on simple shapes by the paywall pricing structure can be annoyed by a non-profit making or small school.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The user friendliness in relation to the template library is superb and our instructors are able to quickly create beautiful sentence structure trees and vocabulary mind maps in our project design without knowing how to use graphics.

#### Cons

The higher price groups provide bad value to money to use certain education templates and tracing the changes and versions of the collaborative diagrams becomes extremely confusing and the customer support simply refers to the articles on forums.

### Lucidchart could be a verb: Lucidcharting. It's that good.

I enjoyed the use of Lucidchart. As mentioned, it was easy to use and very helpful. Even the free version is sufficient to get the point across.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It's a good alternative to other charting tools. It's easy to use and understandable. The product becomes colorful and helpful upon completion. Worth anyone's look for use.

#### Cons

Probably the least appreciated is the layers of use. You can use the free version but it is limited. So, to get access to the exceptional tools, you have to move to either of the paid versions. I understand the need for payment. It makes sense. But, it is limiting unless you have a budget for this kind of use, which means Lucid may be limiting its own adoption. I don't have an answer for this except that they need to become a leader in charting to be able to compete against bigger names.

It’s become a go-to whenever I need to sketch out a system or process. It helps me think through how things actually work, not just how they look on paper. It’s functional without being overly technical, and that makes it accessible to anyone I need to loop in.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It’s one of the easiest ways to map out complex ideas without making a mess. I’ve used it to build workflows, onboarding processes, and org charts, and it never feels clunky. Dragging and dropping pieces into place actually works the way you expect it to, and it’s quick to go from rough idea to something clean and shareable.

#### Cons

It can get a little finicky when multiple people are editing at once. You have to be intentional about layout and spacing or things can shift around unexpectedly. Also, some of the more useful templates and integrations are paywalled, which feels limiting if you’re trying to move quickly.

Overall, great as power point or other tools out there could not generate half of what I wanted. I was able to create good looking charts for various docs I was working on and they all turned out great.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

There was a tone of charts and visuals that I can use and integrate, found it amazing. The flexibility to put all in one sheet and rearrange was also great.

#### Cons

The search option didn't seem to work where I was looking for say a specific visual with text so I needed to look through the libraries or import my own.
