It has not been easy to find a way to manage our admission process in the best and efficient way but Classter helped us customize a system to manage this. This year it will be the second time we use Classter for admission. We are also very happy with the contact person we have at Classter. He is always supportive and quick to respond. #### Cons I wish there was a little bit more flexibility when it comes to features and functions in the student application to support us nurture leads ( sign ups) to submitted application. Even if we are happy with how Classter helped us customize the application based on our needs and wishes ( Classter has been very accommodating and responsive ) the processes of implementing changes/ improvements sometimes feel a bit long and complicated. However we have all the data we need in order to complete admission and that is most essential for us. It has helped us improve our admissions process. We have accurate data on hand for students and their enrolments, plus it handles billing. We are also able to manage feedback and student surveys. Their support team is fantastic and very responsive. They work to help you succeed. I've appreciated working with them over this past year. #### Cons We had problems with how Classter interfaced with Moodle (our VLE). However, Classter was happy to develop better functionality to improve this. While we have run into some issues (as you will with any product), I have found their support team very helpful to work through and find solutions. #### Reasons for choosing Classter Better value for what we needed, plus much better functionality for our institution. #### Reasons for switching to Classter Our old system (not listed) was not fit for purpose. It has been a learning experience. At the beginning it was a challenge to overcome the language barrier and to convey the nature of our business model and the requirements associated with it. We are a very particular university with a certain complexity that required many hours of work between the teams of both organizations. However, the availability of the Classter team, especially [ Sensitive Content ] , was exceptional. The Classter team made sure to adjust the system to our need and implement development to make it work for us. There was a lot of patience and flexibility. On the integration issue, it was one of the biggest challenges, especially with electronic invoicing. The Classter team made sure they had a good understanding of what our regulations were in Costa Rica and delivered a custom development that complied with them. But it was a process that took longer than expected. With the development of custom reports, the experience has not been so good, the reports bring many errors and do not work 100%, something is fixed but another problem arises on the other side. Suggestions: Have teams of consultants and support that speak Spanish. The Latin American market is an interesting market and if they want to grow it would be good to consider having Spanish speaking teams. The way you have the information organized makes the admission and administration processes much easier. #### Cons The adaptation of the system to the business model of the University was a bit complicated, it seems to me that the system was initially created for schools and not for universities, so sometimes we felt it was a bit rigid and did not fit our business model. #### Reasons for choosing Classter I did not participate in the software selection process. I was hired to implement it. The support is quick to answer questions and available when you need them with clear answers. If you go even further and pay for a subscription, it has a function for just about every need if you are willing to pay the increases. #### Cons The free version is very limited and shows a very basic interface that can sometimes be confusing or take a bit of time to get the hang of. I hope for a more user friendly interface with a paid/upgraded version, although with practice it is able to be used by everyone regardless of their tech skills. #### Reasons for choosing Classter It had a free option that we can use while we get back on our feet and have our online classes grow enough to move to the paid option (which we intend to do). I like that it is possible to have changes made that fit certain institutional needs. I like that entering attendance is very straightforward for teachers, and the grade calculations seem to work well. I like that teachers can link documents to their sessions and assesments, such as lesson plans or materials. #### Cons 1. File size limitations: For example: entering student ID photos is difficult and time consuming due to the file size restriction. 2. Usability: It is difficult to understand the language of the platform at times. The distinction between Courses, Classes, and Sessions has been confusing for teachers and admin. 3. Creating Sessions: The process to create sessions is arduous. If a class is changed, or if a teacher joins the team, it is not simple to create all their sessions for them. There should be a way to easily add a "co-teacher" when you are mass-importing sessions. 4. Enrolling Students in their classes/courses: 4.1: Sometimes information does not save the first time. If I change the course status and the registration date and press save, the course status will be saved, but the registration date will NOT be saved. I will have to repest this process until I get the desired result. 4.2: When I attempt to make a change to the course status, I am sometimes unable to do so because of information on the "services" section. Enables us to change the mind set of all stake holders through the use of technology. This change of mind set covers a learning, teaching, reporting, behavioral changes of staff, students and parents. This was achieved through Classter core modules and financial module. We liked Classter flexibility to fit our needs of running the school in the manner we see fit. For example, weekly tracker progress in excel, staff leave requests, segmentation of each groups into different grades and campuses, external and internal communication functionality, attachment functionality, flexible financial arrangements functionality, reporting dumps for management use (slice and dice). Classter has enabled us to truly thing about expanding and franchising our success story #### Cons We found the configuration of the financial module to be complex. Time tabling functionality can be improved. Use menus can be stream lined. For example, a particular action can be done through multiple menus. A better approach would be to have actions under one menu.
