Nothing but positives with Maptician

Fantastic. Helped us with an office expansion and planning. And once Covid struck, allowed us to seamlessly transition to a reservation-based system in the office to meet distancing guidelines and contact tracing. The customer support has been fantastic and very responsive.

PROS

Our implementation of Maptician was very easy. The software is intuitive for the end users to find and reserve desks for hoteling. The design aspect is simple to match your floor layouts.

CONS

Shortcuts are designed to work with a Windows keyboard, not Mac, but this puts me in the minority. That is my only "complaint", and it's a minor one.

Reasons for switching to Maptician

Ease of use, functionality and features. We couldn't get map overviews for planning the buildout with our previous use of Outlook.

All-in on Maptician

We've been preparing the company for a return to working from the office (because of the pandemic), and we have numerous buildings and often times several suites within those buildings. Maptician has been able to handle them all WITH EASE, in both the production and staging environments (having access to both environments has come in very handy as well). Integration with our current business processes has gone smoothly, especially compared to integration efforts with other applications. We had a tight timeline to launch this application across the organization, and because of the application itself and the people behind it (those at Maptician), integration and implementation went very well. Speaking of the people at Maptician, you will be hard-pressed to find better customer service. They are very responsive, understanding, respectful, flexible, and intelligent. They're also very good at training and answering even the most difficult questions with positive, can-do responses. They're also open to ideas that make the application better and very quick to make enhancements. It's been a pleasure to collaborate with them.

PROS

Maptician is very user-friendly. There is a slight learning curve, but it's easy to use once you get it down (which takes hardly any time or training). For me, the most powerful features are those provided in the Assignments and Map Editor sections of the application - namely social distancing halos, flex seating schedules/shifts, and scenarios. It's worth mentioning that one of Maptician's best features is that maps are to-scale (they have to be in order for distancing halos to work properly). I also like the clean-cut look of the application (appeals to my aesthetics) to go along with its robust feature set.

CONS

Only two things come to mind that could be improved/enhanced: 1) with regard to reporting, it would be ideal if more of the drilldown dashboard reports had the option to be downloaded to Excel. 2) in Map Editor, when drawing lines, it would be great if those lines could snap into place at exact right angles (for example 45, 90, 180, 270, and 360 degrees). That said, Maptician has been johnny-on-the-spot with making improvements whenever we bring up possible enhancements.

Reason for choosing Maptician

The features offered by Maptician are much better to suit our needs, and the price was also much better. Also, the customer service had a leg up on the competition.

Useful Software for Post Pandemic World

I work as an admin for this software within our company and although I find myself going to the wrong section often; it is useful when I finally find the section I need and get the hang of it

Overall, I've felt that Maptician has been very User Friendly and easy to implement for our organization. I have had minimal issues with the software, and the Maptician team has been very supportive and timely in resolving anything that comes up.

PROS

I like that Maptician is very straightforward and user-friendly. I also like that our staff has access to a site map of the office, and can see staff photos of where others are physically sitting. Another great benefit of the software is having contact & user information searchable from the Directory/Occupants tab, so people in different offices throughout our organization (or people working remotely) can easily check what location other folks are working from. I also appreciate the "Bulletins" function to make company-wide announcements. From an administrative perspective, it's nice to be able to preset the site layout for our staff to limit confusion and streamline functionality (especially during the implementation phase).

CONS

One thing that's been a little tricky with the software is when Maps accidentally become locked and are unavailable for access by others. My office has several folks designated as administrators, and there was one day I was OOO and I had accidentally locked a map (I was editing and didn't formally close out), and so for the day I was out, the other admins couldn't go in to make edits. Otherwise, any small issues I've had have been quickly resolved with the help of the Maptician support team.

Very Personable - Great customer service!

Maptician is doing the job of getting our employees in and out of the office, however, I do look forward to additional features being launched.

PROS

The Maptician team wants you to succeed, which is one of the most valuable assets a vendor can provide. During the time of the pandemic, my team was personally running in the dark when it came to reopening and Maptician walked with us throughout the entire process (map build out, social distancing, etc.). Maptician was open to brainstorming and took in some of our recommendations for us to better utilize their platform. If we were to find any issues on the backend, Maptician was quick to troubleshoot and resolve said issues. Not to say that we've encountered many challenges what so ever, but I know if we were to Maptician would be on top of it.

CONS

I would love for Maptician to be integrated with G-suite to make things easier for the administrative side. Pulling reports can be confusing - I wish they had a more user friendly data pull option.

Good product for the value

PROS

Maptician is affordable, intuitive and easy to use. The single sign on makes it easy for our staff to use. We also switched to a hoteling office model and people like being able to see team member photos and know where colleagues reserved a workspace for the day. I particularly appreciated the customer support in helping set-up the software to meet our organization's needs. For example we customized the COVID pre-screen visitor survey and modified our floor plans as our office layout changed. When the administrative team was getting up to speed on the system, our customer support was always responsive and eager to help.

CONS

Maptician can have some bugs but the support team is always quick to address them. There are some functionalities that could be a bit more seamless like Outlook calendar integration.

Maptician Review

Maptician has been a great business partner for us. The support from the team has been awesome. They are willing to adjust and make changes within the software to support our needs. They also assisted us in creating floor maps for multiple offices and meeting a tight deadline to roll this out to our team members.

PROS

We were an early user of Maptician and have been pleased the with functionality within the software. We are able to create a hybrid environment which has accommodated our immediate needs to have fixed locations and hoteling stations that can be reserved by various team members.

CONS

We had a learning curve at first, but that is typical. The software has met our needs so far. It would be great if you could print off a hard copy map to be able to use.

Maptician Implementation

Outstanding. We have implemented Maptician in over six offices.

PROS

The entire team at Maptician are outstanding to work with. Their product was selected to help manage our office utilization during the COVID pandemic and it completely fulfill our needs. From training through map creation to implementation, I was never disappointed in my experience or in our decision to commit to this platform.

CONS

The most critical comment I can make is that some features are hard to find. I have the ability to perform most any task I need to but navigating to the proper page is not always intuitive.

If you have hybrid or traveling employees Maptician will make your facilities planning much easier

Overall the product has been simple to use and the team at Maptician has been great to work with.

PROS

The product was very simple to set up, the integration with Microsoft Azure made setting up Single-Sign-On a breeze. The maptician team was able to quickly take the office drawings we had and convert them into a usable format at a very reasonable cost point. Lastly, my success manager has been amazing at keeping us in the loop as new features come available.

CONS

I'd like it if maptician had user and admin documentation as well as change logs that you could read to outline new features as they come available.

PROS

Integrating this product into our business has been beneficial since several of our employees now have a hybrid schedule and we have limited space. Being able to reserve a space to complete our tasks helps with efficiency and productivity.

CONS

It would be nice to have a feature we you can schedule reoccurrences for your days that you come into work instead of having to manually do it every week. Another feature that would be nice is if you had a diagram explaining the different types of seats since that can get a little confusing. Other than that the service is easy to use especially through the phone.

Every one at Maptician was responsive, flexible with schedules to make sure it worked for us, and always followed through with any action in a timely manner.

PROS

With having our employees starting to transition to a hybrid work schedule we needed a transparent way to see who was in the office and when. Partly for collaboration efforts and partly for safety measures.

CONS

One feature that is not available yet is to be able to program your schedule to repeat. I am on a set weekly schedule so it would be nice to be able to block the calendar in a chunk instead of having to do it every day.

How easy it is to build and edit maps. The ability to custom design individual office spaces and seating charts really sets this product apart.

Excellent product with a solid support team.

We could not have been happier with our rollout of Maptician. Their support and assistance was available through the entire rollout process though hardly needed as the software is very user friendly.

PROS

Too many to list but a few are: Ease of Use Mobile version for quick check-ins API connection to Key-Card system for accurate presence reporting.

CONS

I don't really have any cons worth mentioning. Maybe if we could have a way to set a default dashboard for all users by access group, that would be nice.
