Advataxes Review
Overall the experience is positive. The software does "its job". I hope that the price range will continue to be an affordable one.
PROSUsers' feedback was good, overall users felt that "the software is easy to use". In terms of implementation, it provided great flexibility and required very little adaptation of our current accounting policies and various types of expenditures.
CONSOne feature would be helpful to have is a connection to the banking credit card system, where users can log in to Advataxes and view their outstanding credit card expenses and match the expense with the receipt in real time. This would streamline the process and eliminate the follow up work on missing receipts.
Reason for choosing Advataxes
WE explored 3 options. Each had its own pluses and minuses. Nexonia offered an integration with our accounting system but it did not allow us to test the product which made it hard to envision the process before implementing it across the organization.

As for the credit card integration, we have been recently doing business with a third party provider (Plaid) that maintains a link with +100 North American banks. Nice tool !
- We no longer need to have different excel spreadsheets for each provinces (for different tax rates), and we do not need to update some of the changing tax features, such as large companies. - Reduce paper printed. - Easier approval process - Very good customer services
PROS- Ability to directly save invoices into the system from a camera - Automatic calculation of mileage - Calculation of taxes according to the applicable rules.
CONS- The speed of the system; when you click on a tab it takes a few seconds to get to the new page. - The mobile application could be more complete and allow to never need the computer.
Reason for choosing Advataxes
Advatxes is a local supplier and we feel customer support is important.

We're glad you like the Canadian sales tax functionalities as well as the distance calculator, as these are core functionalities of Advataxes to properly claim recoverable taxes and lower the time required to fill out an expense report. As for your other comments we are also working on increasing the speed of certain features.

Good concept, still place for improvement
Good! But definitively place for improvement on user friendliness.
PROSScanning of invoice right away. Easy place to store the invoice picture
CONSUnable to write a title to a scanned invoice for easy usage later on. Unable to forward a pdf invoice received in an email (from an hotel). No app on iPhone so not able to use without Internet access. Not able to start simultaneously two separate expense reports (for example, one for expenses on Company credit card and one for expenses made on personal credits card or else, like traveling kilometer expenses).

Recommended by Accounting. Only option presented to me. Still better than Excel file...

Great expense software!
I always get my proper reimbursement because of how Advataxes organizes my expenses.
PROSThis software is very user friendly and includes all the options I need. The response from the team whenever I have contacted them is very fast and they fix any issues ro explain to me what is needed.
CONSI wish the "stay logged in" feature on the app actually worked.

Easy, clear visual and time saving
Less time needed to process our expense reports is the right thing for every business,

CONSWhen I received an e-mail asking to approve an expense report, it should be great to open the expense report related to the e-mail I received.

Easy to use and very friendly
One of the easiest and friendly expense report app I have used. The visual is clean and everything is simple.
PROSThe new feature where you only have to take a picture and all the fields are filled by themselves. You only have to check to realize that the app entered everything right!
CONSSometimes, I can't send the report on the mobile app, I need to open my computer to send the report.

Good sofware to share costs
Globaly, Advataxes was used to refund some travel costs and it worked pretty well.
PROSThere's a lot of flexibility with the content of the product we are putting in an advataxe report, permitting to be more in line with the need of the people.
CONSThe modification of the dates is hard to do and sometimes we need to cancel some entries.

Much easier and faster than our old Excel spreadsheet
I don't use it very often but still saves a lot of time vs our old Excel spreadsheet.
PROSThe way the forms were customised in our business, I have no second-guessing to do about things like taxes and currency. Also the approbation workflow works without the need to print or send any email, that's great.
CONSThe fact that a report cannot be renamed after creation.

Je recommande le logiciel, car il est très simple d'utilisation et moins dispendieux que plusieurs logiciels sur le marché.
PROSLe logiciel Advataxes nous a permis de réduire notre temps de comptabiliser les compte de dépense et d’avoir une meilleure précision dans la réclamation des taxes. Il nous a permis de réduire le temps de procès, meilleur contrôle des couts, avec des règles. Si nous avons un problème, le support nous répond dans la même journée.
CONSIl est moins facile d'utilisation pour des devises étrangère quand nous devons payer les employés en devise étrangère. Nous devons produire un rapport et le travailler avec Excel. Nous aimerions mettre des départements par défaut dans certaine dépense mais ce n’est pas possible.

The ability to enter the information and push to the next level for approval and processing eliminates paper and is one of the few instances where apps move us towards the ideal of a paper free office.

Thanks for this review. You should know that we have on our "to do list" plans for additional reports, in the "Reports Tab" that is available generally to account administrators. Also Advataxes is a great enabler with the reports that can be exports to Excel, so that you can filter, yet we will add other goal oriented reports such as KM threshold per employee. The best option for expenses

It is a good software
I think it is very easy to use and also not complicated at all.
CONSAfter an expense request is done, it's not clear the next steps. I didn't receive and email saying it was approved nor when it would be happening

Too long too complete.
PROSEasy to read screen. Clear visual and avaialble when needed.
CONSToo many steps to complete the expense report. We must put in a seperate expense account for mileage and for meals if it is the same visit.

Hello Carmela, thank you for your comments. In order to limit the number of steps to fill out an expense report, we suggest that you use the feature "save +" after you enter an expense, as it allows you to keep adding expenses either with your smartphone or a desktop.

CONSLag between operations needs more options, not the same KM between results… need more boxes to be filled when you travel. When you have to stop more than one place.
