A Platform for Less Tech Savvy Event Planners

[SENSITIVE CONTENT] and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] provided consistent and diligent support throughout the platform development process! I appreciate how attentive they were with answering our many questions. We felt extremely prepared for the event day. And I learned a lot about tech! The support team was fantastic with answering our questions and making adjustments to our platform. The support materials are super helpful as administrators and for users (event attendees). The materials made our event guide more robust to answer specific tech questions.

PROS

The ease of the platform from the user experience perspective. It was clean and easy for attendees to find information as well as enter and engage in breakout sessions (booths). The capability for attendees to use video and text chat in the booths. The information tabs made it easy to share specific information pertaining to the event. The ability to brand the event with images and logos throughout the platform makes it unique to the organization.

CONS

The live and booth chats didn't have capability to have live/hot links. Attendees would need to copy and paste a link into another browser. Attendees were not able to private message each other to network or share 1:1 information without sharing with everyone. It would be great to have an all-in-one platform instead of having to learn and use another platform to stream to the livestream stage/page. It would be great if the admin log in could "open" the booths instead of having a separate log-in for each booth. The admin could assign admin capabilities to each booth for presenters to have access to share slides, record, and manage attendees.

Reason for choosing BoothCentral

Budget constraints and BoothCentral provided a more cohesive event for our attendees.

Simple booth registraiton

I plan events, and have used this software to handle in-person vendor applications and booth space.

PROS

Booth Central is very easy to use, both for the vendor and the vendor coordinator. The only issues we have had is sometimes vendors try to sign up using their phones, and can't do it... I recommend a real computer. Booth Central allows us to curate vendors, which is important to us (approving the ones you want; denying the ones you don't want). I REALLY like how the vendors have to put in a credit card and pay 1/2 down at registration, and the rest is charged automatically. Super convenient and no chasing down of money. It's a little clunky if a card fails... I have had to contact customer support a few times about those issues, but they're not a big deal. Customer support has been responsive and helpful.

CONS

Booth Central is not a communications vehicle... you can't email all your vendors about an update in plans, for example. For that, you have to download all your vendors and upload into something like MailChimp. Also, if you want more than one or two custom questions on your form, you have to have the Booth Central support team put them on the form for you (can't do it yourself). But, I did find support to be very responsive and helpful, so not a big deal.

I decided we did not need the map feature of many other softwares.

Reasons for switching to BoothCentral

I have tried lots of booth management softwares. They all have their pros & cons, and depends on what you need. Booth Central does NOT have mapping... so if an interactive booth map is important to you, this is not your software. However, those softwares are typically very expensive as well. Booth Central is really affordable and no up-front costs, which is great.

Booth Central for School Fair

2 experiences with Booth Central were positive and well received.

Great vendor management tool for event producers

We starting using Booth Central for the virtual experience and quickly shifted to having them run all of our vendor signup forms. The team have been great at being adaptive and helping build the software to meet our needs. We have done about a dozen events each year and the Booth Central team are involved n every step, helping us make the process as easy as possible. We rely heavily on vendor/exhibitor signups for our events so having an easy, intuitive, software program is key to our success and Booth Central has done just that. We have used a lot of vendor management programs over the years and we have found that Booth Central is by far the best out there.

PROS

The software is easy to use and allows us to put multiple events online so that vendors can easily signup for all of our events. We use the software for a variety of events (community, wine festivals, beer festivals, vendor festivals, etc) and all of them have run smoothly from a vendor/exhibitor standpoint. Our vendors have loved the ability to signup for multiple events using the same program so that they don't have to continue to enter the same information over and over

CONS

Being able to email more information to the participants would be a big help. The software allows for reminders to pay, but to have an in system email service would be great to communicate with all the participants. Accounting can get a bit messy when running multiple shows on the platform, but the BoothCentral team have always been quick to assist where they can.

Reasons for switching to BoothCentral

We were having troubles with the backend on Lennd and we weren't able to customize things as well as we have been able to with Booth Central.

Booth Central review by new user

Excellent! We love it!!

PROS

It is very user friendly. Easy to use. The Booth Central support team is very helpful and responds quickly. We only have to use one software platform, to jury the artists and to manage the show. One other feature that has been very helpful, is that we can accept applications until our show is full. Our old software had a rigid deadline, and applicants could not apply after the deadline. Due to Covid and the effect it has had on art shows, it is very helpful to be able to accept applications and jury on a rolling basis. I have not yet used all the features that this software offers because we are still just accepting applications at this point. We also did several Virtual shows with Booth Central, which were the first of their kind at the time! They were awesome!

CONS

There are a few small tweaks, that I can think of, but nothing major.

Reason for choosing BoothCentral

The other product was not updated much over the 10 years we used it. It was focused on the jurying process primarily, rather than helping a promoter manage a show. We had to use yet another database program to track and manage those things, and had to transfer and input information from that platform to the database that helped us manage all aspects of the show. That was very time consuming, and left room for error working in 2 programs all the time. Booth Central really helps me from the business side of things, as in the payment processing I mentioned previously for example. They are adding new features all the time that are helpful.

Reasons for switching to BoothCentral

I became familiar with Booth Central and what they offered, by having a Virtual Show with them when our event was canceled due to Covid.their team is great to work with and once we learned more about it, we decided to make the switch!

Spread the word!

The customer service is top-notch both for myself as an event organizer and for my vendors. The payment plan options for vendors plus giving them the option to auto-charge their credit cards has saved me hours and hours of chasing folks down for late payments. Being able to quickly see who is 'overdue' on payments is also a time saver. One thing I've never been able to do before that I can do with BoothCentral is see who has 'started applying' to my event. It allows me to follow up with a personal email to encourage a follow-through.

PROS

Normally, my vendors cringe at any change in the application process. Our festivals are between 8 and 40 years old. So far, there is such little difficulty for our vendors to register, that I'm astounded . I hardly hear a peep about the shift to a new website.

CONS

The images that artists submit are lower quality once downloaded from the site. Also time consuming to download each separately. Not a deal breaker though.

Reasons for switching to BoothCentral

I had used BoothCentral for virtual events and loved the simplicity of the process for my vendors, the jury process, and the price.

Booth Central a Great Pick for Consumer Shows

Ben and the team have been stellar partners before, during and after the pandemic.

PROS

It is easy to use. Events can be copied from one year to the next.

CONS

Would love for the ability to add show features (sponsors that contract outside of BC) on a back end.

Virtual Home Show

PROS

The software platform was easy to use and I really liked that specific dimensions were specified for photos. Customer support was very responsive.

Booth Central has organized, streamlined the applications for our annual Fair and I highly recommend

Booth Central reaches a larger vender audience for us and brings vendors from a much wider circle than we would likely reach on our own.

PROS

All the features and details that make our record keeping a breeze

CONS

None that I can think of. We have had return vendors that have used the service every year since 2017 and they love the continued added features that make the application easier for them to use.

Tech Career Expo

Our overall experience with Booth Central was great, we understood that Booth Central is making improvement to the platform to better serve their clients. I am looking forward to seeing updates in chat functionality, one on one video, stand alone booths. I would also like to have an editor box in the description boxes and for the "About the Event Tab" to be editable and separate from the main event page. Other than those improvements, our event was well attended and pretty easy to navigate once participants and hosts were live.

PROS

I really enjoyed working with the Booth Central staff, they were willing to listen and bring our vision to life. I liked the layout and turn out of our event, it looked clean and professional.

CONS

The ability to archive a chat in the booths or save the chat as well has the ability to have 1:1 videos with anyone entering a booth.

Easy to Use, Fantastic Customer Support

PROS

BoothCentral was easy to use and the customer service is impeccable. The team at BoothCentral will support you and guide you through any process you need assistance with. Their customer support goes above and beyond.

CONS

I feel that the reports could be better. I think Vendors should get reports of the names and contact info of people who entered their booth, and the Hosts should have access to reports that detail each attendee and which booths they entered.

Virtual Enrollment Fair

The technical support was great. They provided training for set up, made adjustments to the platform to make it more user friendly, and were available before and after to assist with any questions we had. I would definitely use BoothCentral again.

PROS

The ease of logging into a chat session with the visitors.

CONS

The only drawback was multiple people in one booth sometimes talking over each other. You may want to consider a break out room from the chat to speak to an individual.

Reason for choosing BoothCentral

The other platforms were cost prohibitive, took a lot to set up, and were not local.
