Google Voice is the BEST way to have a second phone number on your cell phone. It's been our primary work phone number for many years.

Being mobile and working perfectly on my cell phone is by far the best feature.

There are a lot of options like recording live calls and voicemail transcribing but it could have so much more but honestly you can perform nearly everything you need from it's free package. It does become an issue with some services because the phone number is considered VoIP or an internet number and not a "real" number and using it to sign up for things can't be done. However; it's becoming more and more accepted as life becomes more intwined with technology

There isn't much that I dislike about Google Voice. Once the settings were set up right for our business, it is pretty flawless.

Google Voice has been a fairly reliable phone number with Voicemail that is very easy to use and pretty easy to set up if you have a gmail, but it doesn't compare with a cell phone or a landline. I alternate using it with another service called TextNow on my PC, which rings audibly more often but also fails to dial out more often! Also sometimes that number will work in cases where Google Voice is blocked. This is a pretty good way to have a "landline" through your desktop computer, and a nice way to not give everyone your cell number.

I was mugged and I temporarily have no cell phone and after having tried many wifi calling solutions for my pc, Google Voice has remained my primary go-to phone number. I am grateful there is a free option. Also there is the ability to port your number but you have to pay $20 so I didn't do that. You can also forward calls.

I'm glad I signed up before my cell was stolen because it is really hard to get a Voice number without already having a number... and I think it has to be a cell number too! The phone doesn't always ring and many people have phone settings that block a Voice number. Also I often have trouble in situations where I need to use the keypad to type in an account number.

This was so easy for me to set up. As a senior, ease of use is important for me. I can use this from my smartphone and it is much more affordable than adding a line from my cell phone provider or the other online alternatives.

It is free for the USA but not for Canada, it is $10 a month which is not bad, but it doesn't seem fair that this doesn't expand across north America.

I find calling different people on Google Voice to be a very simple task. The cost associated with Google Voice is very reasonable and probably lower than other carriers and is therefore a very money saving option. Some of my favourite features are how Google Voice can switch your voice message into a written message to the reciever. Another great feature is that you can call multiple people at the same time. The quality of Google Voice is good most of the time and therefore is highly recommended. You don't need much experience with technology to be able to figure out how to use Google Voice.

I enjoyed my experience using Google Voice. I used it heavily while working remotely in my previous position in the Records and Registration office. After about 1-2 years of working remote my company purchased an electronic phone system from MITEL COLLAB and employees were required to switch over. I still enjoy google voice for personal use to make and receive calls not using my personal number. I would encourage anyone to use this product as it most likely has improved even more.

The service was reliable and had good audio quality. I was always able to place or receive calls and voice mails would usually arrive promptly. I liked being able to set my preferences to using wifi instead of my cellular data. Being able to choose what the caller sees protected my privacy which was an important feature to me.

The software would glitch every so often and had to restart a call or refresh the application. Additionally, I would sometimes get a voice mail later than expected, since it didn't push a notification to my iPhone. Overall, I had very few complaints as most were normal glitches any tech user encounters.

Thought these changes one thing has been the same and that's my Google voice number that piggybacks off any carrier I am with and if in not I can still be reachable by my Google voice number

I don't like that u need an actual phone. Number already to set up your own number caus otherwise you get. Number that either u can't call out or call in...I forget Im 13 years in from the I initial set up

Google Voice was created to be a personal text line, and limits what you can do if you use it in any other capacity. You can not set any away messages, auto replies, and if multiple people are accessing the text line, you can't see if anyone is texting the same person at the same time, causing some confusion. As our needs grew to now reach groups of donors, other organizations, and clients, we outgrew the helpfulness of Google Voice and have since moved on.

Google Voice is FREE. But more importantly it provides a way to manage our phone calls, voice mail, emails, and forwarding calls when away. We use the Google Voice number for all of our Marketing. We have changed VOiP providers several times without having to change our phone number as it was linked to Google Voice. We just forwarded the calls to the new number provided by our VOiP providers.

For a Free service, I have no complaints. The software improved over the 9 years we used it. It improved on providing accurate conversion of Voice to Text that was sent to our email system.

Easy to setup forward calls to other devices. Having the Do Not Disturb is a great feature too.Using the google voice page makes it easy to do texts! Very handy when typing a lot of information.

Honestly the thing I like most about Google Voice is the price. We use it as an alternate business line so that leads and potential clients can call into us without having to use a personal phone number, or pay for another line. They assign you a number, which is really great! The interface of the software and app is also very nice and clean, as you'd typically find with any Google software!

The cons to Google Voice tend to be that a lot of calls get dropped and sometimes I have trouble answering the phone cleanly. Definitely a major downside, but again being that it's free, it's hard to complain. If you have a strong internet connection it should be serviceable and once connected, the calls are generally clear.
