The BEST booking software

I love everything about this software. It looks great. My clients have the option of booking appointments themselves. Canceling the appointments via the client portal. Intake forms are generated and available for them to sign prior to their appointments. If I ever have an issue or made a mistake the Team at BusyPaws are available to me. I actually can talk to them and they’ve always been able to resolve my problems. They answer questions in a timely manner and take suggestions regarding improvements that can be made. I have recommended this software to other dog grooming professionals in the industry. It’s so much better then other platforms.

PROS

This software is extremely useful, easy to use and full of features.

CONS

The only con I had and will be implemented soon is the option for clients to add a tip at checkout.

The price was a major factor but more importantly the features. The reliability of the system, functionality and the ability to contact an actual person for help was my determining factor. It does everything I need and it keeps getting better with all the recently added features.

I made the switch because in my first month of opening I realized my clients were not able to book available appointments online. It would show zero available appointments. I lost revenue and potential clients. Moego did apologize for taking several days to try and mediate the situation. Offered me a free month. However I just felt that I couldn’t risk that happening again.

Easy to use pet professional software

Very positive. The customer service is excellent and the company is frequently adding new features to increase the customer experience

PROS

I can add clients and services easily as well as organize invoicing and scheduling calender all in the same place. My clients also say they love how easy it is to use to sign up for services and upload documents.

CONS

The one things that I like the least about the software is the inability to change overall tax rates and add product inventory that has a different tax percentage than a service. I have to use seperate accounting software to do this.

BEWARE: LMS (online course creator) is incredibly misrepresented.

My overall experience with the CMS was good. The software has a lot of functions that save time and help me stay organized.However, the misrepresentation of the LMS is so disappointing that I would not recommend Busy Paws.

PROS

I like being able to create templates and automatic messages based on an event. They offer document management, so I can send multiple docs with one click.

CONS

Busy Paws advertises that the Learning Management System is comparable to "Kajabi or Teachable, built for dog trainers." This is misleading and FALSE. The LMS is nothing like Kajabi or Teachable.If you plan to use the LMS, look elsewhere. Pricing for Busy Paw's CMS and LMS is equal to or greater than Acuity tiers with any LMS (Teachable, Kajabi, Ruzuku, LearnWorlds, etc.), but they do not offer the same feature list. Instead, they offer a bare-bones WYSIWYG without the ability to add templates or columns, in-line images, or any formatting aside from text. No embedding or ability to open links in a new window.No ability to resize images. Images size to fit, so they are huge and grainy. No assessment features, quizzes, or surveys.There is no way to track courses. 'Courses Completed' is not accurate. I have to log in to the client to see the progress.No landing page or ability to preview courses. I must build a page from the ground up to showcase my courses. Then maintain it.The client must go through the onboarding process to sign up for a course. While the Client Management System features are great, the Learning Management System is seriously lacking and should not even be called an LMS.

I wanted to integrate my courses into one place. This seemed to be comparable to Acuity and Teachable monthly. I didn't know how poor the LMS stacked up until I was in course creation. I trusted Busy Paws when they said they had a comparable product, and they let me down. Foolishly, I paid in advance for two months free, and now I can not get a refund for months unused.

Lots of features for a lower price

It's pretty good! It's not as expensive and because of that I think it's great. They're constantly improving the product and I hope it becomes even better.

PROS

I love that I can have so many services and that I can search clients by their pet's names. It's easier for me to remember their dog! It's also way more affordable compared to competitors.

CONS

Some things are tedious like changing a blocked section in the calendar and I'm hoping their courses creation will become more robust. It's lacking in the ability to add in photos.

Amazing customer service with a solid product

Their customer service is top notch and it seems like they are continuing to develop their product. I save a lot of time and can have all my business needs met in 1 place vs. paying for and sending clients to different softwares.

PROS

This product is pretty intuitive and they have helpful article detailing the set up process. Their payment process for clients is the easiest I have used yet. I love that they allow actual signatures so you can set up contracts too.

CONS

There are some features that don't work ideally for my company, such as not being able to set different time frames in availability. I can only set one chunk of hours per day.

It seemed to have the best features and client experience of all the products I considered. I heard good things about their customer service and that has proven very true.

Reasons for switching to BusyPaws

DogBizPro was a bit pricey for not having enough usable features for my business. Signing up for classes also seemed challenging for my clients, I often got emailed questions and had to register clients myself. They also didn't seem big into integrations like other softwares are (ex. Mailchimp). DogBizPro is also not the most intuitive to use.

Great platform overall!

Very good! Highly recommended.

PROS

Great developers and service, vaccine records tracking and customer management.

CONS

Some issues with usability that I believe are in progress of being rectified. For example customers consistently have issues with drop down menus selecting the wrong service - this could be changed somehow. Calendar could be more functional/easier to organize/use if multiple services/service categories. Need to be able to customize reminders and when they go out but happy they have added reminders.

User friendly

I love the system, the support is outstanding they take on your requests of innovation and changes are implemented quickly. It’s a nice one stop shop for my business.

PROS

I love how easy it is to use, the help functions. I have a computer software background and it has been designed so well to be versatile for the different pet industries.

CONS

It’s currently only web based verses having its own app, although it still has not caused me any major problems so far, I just have to ensure I have signal/data on my phone.

Wish I was happier with it!

We were very disappointed that we could not get BusyPaws to work for us. We tried. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] tried. The amount of time spent on: "...if we could make this do this..." or "...let's try using their series format for our puppy training ..." nope! how about this way or that way .... try this try that .... after working in BusyPaws, with it and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] , it just was not a good fit . It seemed easy during the trial, so we signed up knowing we had full tech support. We paid the annual subscription of $900+ to find out 2 months in, it will not fit our needs. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] will not refund unused subscriptions. Their team is patient and knows their own software program. We struggled to make it work. Then the glitches started. That was when I called it quits. Asked to cancel and get a refund for unused months. Our account was not cancelled back in July, and today (end of September) another email blast went out to our client list of "reminders of services in September and October" for appointments never made. I don't know why this is happening. These appointments were not made by us or our clients. Yet when [SENSITIVE CONTENT] looked in to it, he sees that these were made on our end. But they were not. We have not used BP since June/July for anything. Somewhere this software has like a backdoor that is glitchy and making so much extra work on our end. For this reason, I cannot recommend it to other small businesses. But I wish I could because they are nice people, who work hard.

PROS

Integration with Google contacts is helpful to get client base moved over to BusyPaws. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] did his very best to help us with glitches and trying to make it all work. You can save money by buying the annual subscription. But if things go wrong, you cannot get your money back if you decide to cancel your subscription - like we had to do. We just could not get this software program to work with our agendas. Too bad really, as it is a lovely Canadian company.

CONS

Could not easily have one account for a client with more than one dog. Could not easily book more than one service at a time for one client on one day . Unable to colour code anything. Could not choose our own time of day - must use their 15 minute increments from drop-down menu. We had email blasts go out unknowingly to our entire client base. We were told the glitch was something from "our end" (our fault) for multiple clients receiving the same "reminder" for appointments that were never booked, for months in advance! Maybe it was our error, but tech support to make it stop the first time would have helped the same glitch re-occurring THREE times! The second time this happened was so frustrating, our key staff member resigned - couldn't handle the stress of dozens of clients calling in the error in their account. BP Calendar can not keep up with our revolving schedule and multiple programs. Their "credits" for payment was very menacing.

Ferghus & Company's BusyPaws Review

Excellent! The product just keeps getting better and the support team continues to exceed expectations.

PROS

The customer support provided by the BusyPaws Team is THE BEST we have ever experienced. They are responsive, quick to troubleshoot and offer solutions and seem to always be working to improve the product.

CONS

The integration with Quickbooks was a challenge for us and created some administrative challenges. More flexibility with reporting features BUT, you can easily export data to spreadsheets and manipulate it that way.

[SENSITIVE CONTENT] did an amazing job of listening to what we needed and getting the product to meet those needs. They are also extremely patient with a fabulous business owner that has limited computer skills ;)

Could run our business without it!

We could not run this business without Busy Paws. It has substantially reduced our admin time and enabled us to expand our business.

PROS

Busy Paws has saved us at least 20 hours a week of admin time. It has also allowed us to grow and expand the business. All the admin time saved has provided more opportunity for marketing which is helping us grow significantly. And we could not have supported the number of customers we have now without this management system.

CONS

I think there could be more support of some sort for people who are not as competent with online management systems. I find some of it not intuitive but fortunately my business partner is better than I am. Maybe more online tutorials on how to set up the various systems. In the membership program it would be really helpful if I could include text documents as well as the videos.

BusyPaws allows me to more to do my job: Train Dogs!

Fantastic. Everyone is quick to respond, and they fix any blips quickly.

PROS

Constant improvements to the features and functionalitites. I often submit a "wish list" request, and shortly after, the feature appears in the program. I operate my training business a little different than others, and they've accomodated my style with ease.

CONS

It sometimes take a while for the page to load. Not that big a problem.

BusyPaws

I was doing things like double-booking myself and always too far behind in administrative work.BusyPaws keeps me organized.Clients appreciate the prompts to send me questions or updates in their training. They know it an automatic email (I tell them), but having BusyPaws makes sure the all-important follow-up care is done.

PROS

This software has organized my business and saves me a lot of administration time.

CONS

It is not very intuitive.Clients often need me to walk them through, but once they figure it out they like using it.

I researched and did the trials of a few. My IT person calls BusyPaws the Lamborghini lol because it offers so much.

Great tool but can improve

It is a good experience. Sometimes there is some details missing but the customer service seems to be available for listening.

PROS

How easy it makes for the team members to get to schedule and be aware of each other calendar

CONS

Sometimes the app lacks of some options as easily returning credits or providing more information about what the client is booking. It would help to make the classroom list available to the clients sothey can see how many and the dogs that are enrolled for class.
