My experience with Microsoft Planner
It has gone quite well for us, we managed to reduce costs by purchasing everything from a single provider (Microsoft). Previously we used Google apps for mail, repository and Zoho for projects and tasks, but now we have mail, planner, office software in a single dashboard.
PROSIt is a tool that comes included with the licensing that we already pay for along with Office 365 and Exchange. It is very easy to add new users, which we link to our corporate Microsoft account. It helps us reduce user administration and licensing since all those who require this service and others from Microsoft are managed on the same platform.
CONSThey are not dynamic like other tools we have used in the past. Obtaining gantt or flow charts is not something that simple. Although it helps the entire organization in general, users who manage projects still use project software especially when we have to follow up with third parties.
Reasons for switching to Microsoft Planner
It was primarily a business strategy to unify tools and reduce licensing costs. In the administrative part it also helped since a single license administration portal is maintained.

A basic but versatile tool forms an important part of the Office 365 suite.
I have really enjoyed using Planner for what it is - basic project and task management. Within the context of a team it ex excellent for Agile project management. Outside of this context and when more robust project management is required Planner is often too limited and leads us to look for more able tools.
PROSSuper simple to use and with a good range of functionality, Planner is a light project management tool that is an important part of the Office 365 suite. Tasks for part of the task engine within Office 365 through Microsoft To Do. Information and categorisation that can be recorded on a task is versatile and, when coupled with search and filters, makes keeping track of tasks easy.
CONSThe most frustrating aspect of Planner is the lack of a public view of the board and tasks. Only members of the team can follow progress. Planner is so closely coupled into the team membership of Office 365 that it limits its uses. Also, the lack of gantt chart functionality weakens the ability of Planner to be considered a serious project management tool.
Reason for choosing Microsoft Planner
Planners integration with Office 365 is a massive benefit.

Basic task management tool
The service is easily available as it's part of Office 365 subscriptions. It integrates fairly well with other Microsoft services and does fulfill the basic task management needs.
CONSFrequent issues with lost updates and such, especially on other browsers than Microsoft Edge. No support for tagging certain users (in comments or such). Poor support for workflows (tasks can be assigned to multiple people at a time, with no other means of ensuring that other people get updates, so it's hard to determine who should act on a certain task at a certain time).
Reason for choosing Microsoft Planner
Since it was already included in our Microsoft 365 subscription and fulfilled our GDPR requirements.
Reasons for switching to Microsoft Planner
Since the Atlassian stance on GDPR compliance was unclear.

Planner user review
In general, I have used the planner weekly. However, at the beginning, it was a bit difficult to understand, but now it is very simple for me and helps me assign tasks without forgetting to follow up.
PROSI love being able to set the priority level of a task, and especially being able to customize the target dates to suit the user's preferences.
CONSI would seek to improve the way tasks are modified; it can be somewhat complicated if it's your first time working with it.

Review of Microsoft Planner
Overall I am very satisfied as this help us to finish our task in the convenient manner and also we can keep an eye on the tasks assigned to the team.
PROSCreating, assigning, and arranging taks using Microsoft Planner is very easy. A team can organize their tasks, collaborate and coordinate with ease, and track the status of their tasks assigned with the help of the program.
CONSLimited information in the App and sub tasks can't be assigned and intergrated in Mobile version.
Reason for choosing Microsoft Planner
Ease of use and very easy to implement all the issue and assigning it to the team

The sweet spot between accessibility and complete features
I have been pushing everyone to use it for Project Planning. Getting others to use it has not been painful, which is saying quite a lot.
PROSI love how quickly I can get other team member using all the features they need with Planner. It holds a lot of information and is much better than a static "To Do" list, but not as complex as most Project Planner software out there.
CONSLittle things like selecting a card and adding another person are not quite as effortless as they could be. Adding the option to "repeat" tasks is a game-changer as now I can make a detailed Planner for an annual event and not have to clone it.
Reason for choosing Microsoft Planner
Part of the bundle included with Teams
Reasons for switching to Microsoft Planner
I love Trello but we are Microsoft org and honestly Planner does all the basics of Trello in terms of a Kanban board.

Buckets of Tasks!
Overall, Microsoft Planner has improved our teams productivity and workflow. We will continue to use it on a daily basis.
PROSThis program has many pros. The ability to attach files, comments, notes, and detailed steps (that can be checked off) within a single task is amazing. Not only can you assign a task to a person(s), you can also sort them by buckets (or categories). We like to celebrate when all our "Buckets" are empty!
CONSTwo major things would improve this software tremendously. The ability to schedule a task for a specific time, and the ability to assign the steps within a task to individual users.
Reasons for switching to Microsoft Planner
We switched because we liked the way Microsoft Planner integrated onto a SharePoint site better than Microsoft To Do.

Microsoft Planner is a great solution if you don't need a ton of advance features. It really does a good job as a basic project management solution to keep action items and due dates in check.

Microsoft Planner Review
Personally, I have used Microsoft Planner as a tool for project management and it has tremendously helped my organization become more efficient, improve our jobs and create more customer satisfaction.
PROSMany of the features included in this software are very easy to navigate. They provide and include the three objective things needed for task management which includes, status progress, time/schedule and task lists. This software like I stated previously is very simple and easy to use which what I like the most about this software. This software includes certain alerts that can prove to be essential to help a business reach their goals and meet deadlines. This software has so many great benefits and many businesses should take advantage.
CONSA feature that I felt was missing includes, not being able to set recurring tasks, only being able to track one task at a time and not being able to see who is assigned to each task. Not being able to set recurring task and only being able to track one task at a time creates more busy tedious work and takes the efficiency away to the entire task management. If a company isn't able to see who is currently assigned to a task, it makes management's role more difficult assigning tasks and being able to oversee team availibility.

Microsoft Planner: To Plan or Not to Plan
Overall is say this is a must have when an office or a business has tasks and projects that their employees engage in. With the ability to manage the program with ease and the ability to track the productivity of the employees with said tasks and projects helps out as well.Don't hesitate to get this and try it out, I am sure you will keep using it as we have!
PROSHands down amazing. Very simple and easy to integrate with your systems. Easy to set up and use and pretty straight-forward options and controls. The amount of control you have when making tasks and assigning them is absolutely amazing. Being able to track so much and see when stuff has been missed and not completed.
CONSThis is really more so when using MS Planner on your company mobile device. Sometimes it gets confusing when you have many tasks and group tasks. They get shown differently on the mobile device and this leads to some tasks being missed completely and ignored. As long as you take your time though and check all the folders and swipe to check the tabs for other tasks you should be fine. The desktop version definitely lays it out way better!
Reason for choosing Microsoft Planner
We are a dedicated Microsoft using office. We will always try out their products and see how they work for our company. Expect good reviews.

Efficiency and Organization: A Student's Take on Microsoft Planner
Overall, as a student, my experience with Microsoft Planner was very positive. The platform provided me with a simple and effective way to manage my tasks and collaborate with my team, which helped me stay organized and on top of my work. Despite a few limitations, I found Microsoft Planner to be a valuable tool that made it easier for me to succeed in my studies.
PROSI liked how Microsoft Planner made it easy for me to stay organized and on top of my tasks. The platform's user-friendly interface and intuitive design made it simple for me to create and manage tasks, set deadlines, and track progress. I also appreciated the ability to collaborate with my team on tasks and projects, which made it easy for us to stay on the same page and ensure that nothing fell through the cracks.
CONSThe only thing I didn't like about Microsoft Planner was that some of its features and capabilities could be a bit limited. For example, I would have liked to be able to include more detailed information about each task, such as subtasks and notes. Additionally, I found that some of the mobile app's features were not as robust as the desktop version, which made it a bit harder to manage tasks on-the-go.

Transformed how I manage my team
For some time before finding Planner I had wished for a tool that allowed me to remotely monitor how my team members were progressing against their to do lists without having to nag and ask them directly. Not only does Planner allow you to do this but it can create goals and objectives for people and allow managers to monitor their productivity. Asides from this you can also create project mapping tools and upload all the relevant files for a project, assigning smaller tasks to different team members.
CONSIt took some time to convince my team of its benefits. It's probably more useful for managers than team members. It can also make an additional layer of activity for team members to regularly check which some may find overbearing and not helpful.

A very flexible and effective planner for teams near or remote from each other
Microsoft Planner is very userfriendly and easy to use which makes it easier to collaborate with others on projects. The interface is simple which makes it easy to understand what is being done, also I like how it integrates with other Microsoft products, such as Office 365, OneDrive, Sharepoint and others which makes it easier to share tasks with my team.
CONSGenerally Microsoft Planner has been great for us but there are some features that could be added for example, it does not have a Gantt chart so some of our team have had to use a third party solution that offers this which breaks the integration slighty so this could be something to be added in future and another is that it would be more challenging to have assigned tasks for persons outside of our organization who does not have an account with our company.
