I like the application, server and even the network flow monitoring of the application. My best part of the application feature is it drill down capability in determine root cause of an issue.

It's not user friendly at all. And instrumentation of non-web apps is a slow painful process.

No access to get AppD DB for capturing specific things. Scenario - I want my URL or API to be send in the app d alert but there is no provisioning , i raised ticket as well, but so far no provision.

The good thing about the tools is its integration with the load runner tool for performance testing. We can get the exact method and class names from the code which helps in finding the bottleneck.

I like that it is really easy to implement, add AppDynamics agent to your code manifest and it starts to monitor your application. Easy to set up triggers for events which should be monitored.

The UI is fairly intuitive making it easy to find what your looking for. Integration is also fairly easy through the use of setup wizards for their agents.

Sometimes could be difficult to troubleshoot it if they agent cannot start with JVM process.

One negative point that I can see is that the Lite version records data from only the last two hours, that´s not enough.

One benefit that we love is adding and modifying fields in the ticketing system to keep track of certain information of the customer.

Spiceworks IT Help Desk aided me a great deal in managing IT tickets within the office and to be able to prioritize and track them.

It does lack some features that you get from a paid alternative such as Autotask,, things such as integrating into an RMM system.

Great library of extensions, integrations, and more. The forums are extremely helpful too.

Of course, cost is a big factor here as other monitoring tools are quite expensive. This tool does provide a good set of features and provides alerts to monitors critical network components.

What I dislike about the software it crashes most of them based on feedback from Adminstrator. And as End-user, the URL is not available for use.

My only complaint would be the network inventory scanning. On large networks it will destroy your network.

I love Spiceworks so much and very satisfied with it, especially how we can be proactive by using widgets like drive space on machines and get alerts to proactively resolve issues.

The UI is amazing, tons of options for the tickets easy to use and they also have an inventory tool and app and the implementation was a breeze.

Overall I like the simplicity of their product. They make it easy enough that anyone can figure it out.
