Dayforce HCM by Ceridian is a cloud-based human capital management solution designed for medium to large sized enterprises. Ths solution provides a unified suite of applications for managing payroll, attendance, timesheet, benefits administration, workforce planning and recruiting.
The solution allows human resource teams to manage employee payrolls and timesheets. Employees can also track their attendance history and other work-related information from their personal portals. Dayforce HCM's built-in ATS functionality allows organizations to hire the right people and manage benefits enrollment using a single interface. Managers or administrators can set annual goals for their team members and can then score them based on their performance at the end of the year.
The software's built-in management dashboard provides relevant insights into data and helps to make valuable business decisions. Other benefits offered by Dayforce HCM are workforce management, document management, recruiting management and appraisal management.

Why is this software so slow to enter data? Takes forever to complete fields and doesn't update or maintain data from one day to the next for easy repetitive entry. Each field has to be manually entered from a drop down for each day. Why not maintain data preference from one day to the next or allow copy/paste? Even the "conveniently" filled in hours fields don't activate hours until you reenter them manually or increment/decrement them numerous times which gives you partial fractional hours.
Can't enter data for days in advance if you happen to be going away or don't want to revisit your time sheet on the final day of work schedule.
Therefore supervisors have to review all time sheets on the last day of work schedule rather than ahead of time.
Makes a 2 minute task take 20 mins.

We implemented Dayforce almost a year ago. It has been a good product for our HR needs. For the most part it is easy to use and has enabled us to run our HR processes more efficiently.
Easy to navigate
Good user interface
At times the system will run slower than anticipated
It can still take many clicks to get to the information you need

In the middle of an implementation for the HR and payroll modules. Very easy to use, great for both the back office as well as employee facing pieces. Great support as well. Revolutionizes what HCM should be. Able to manage and process through multiple countries, and not as an aggregator. Great reporting functionality.
Do your research but this is a game changer. Partnering with their implementation team made this a success.
Danna from ABC Inoac Exterior Systems

ABC Inoac previously utilized the Ceridian HPW platform solely for payroll management. Due to personnel changes and attrition over the years, we were down to only two users who could operate within HPW. As the obvious need for change was being discussed, we became aware of the Dayforce application and could not wait to see it first hand. From day one we knew this was the solution would best fit our needs and objectives. The implementation and go-live process was fairly seamless. With a great internal team and wonderful support from the Ceridian staff, we were able to navigate many custom programming issue in order to accommodate the many policies and processes already in place. The change has been largely well received by all employees. Within a couple months we were able to stop printing paper earning statements. This was a huge leap for our folks and not without some stress but has gone very well overall. We look forward to growing into the many features the application has to offer including attendance and document management.
Fairly seamless transition from HPW to Dayforce platform. We used to utilize a separate Kronos system for timekeeping so having timekeeping and payroll all in one application now is so much easier. Our HR and support staff are able to focus on other important issues rather than spend hours on timesheets. Utilizing the benefits functionality has been a bit of a transition but has gone very well. We look forward to a totally interactive open enrollment in 2017.
Implementation team changes caused some delays during configuration which ultimately cut into our testing timeline. This was a bit of an inconvenience but thanks to a great internal team, we were able to navigate the changes without jeopardizing the go-live of 1/1/16.
Depending on the size of your implementation, the best advice I can offer is to have a strong internal team of no less than 4 people. HR, payroll, accounting and an IT component are key players in making this a successful launch. Know your policies and procedures and be ready to support Ceridian configuration team in developing them in the application by answering questions in great detail. Most of all, be organized, stick to the timeline, educate yourself and keep an open mind. All will go well.

I have worked with other HCM products such as Workday, but nothing compares to Ceridian Dayforce. Dayforce has everything you need in one system. No need for integrations with other systems. The support is amazing and the training opportunities are wonderful.
You will save time and money by using a product that has every system you need in one.

I really only have one issue with Dayforce/Ceridian. I dont like that when you contact Customer Service you have to start at 1st level. Both my Payroll Manager and I are fluent in Ceridian, and our issues are NEVER one that first level can answer. Typically we are moved to 2nd or higher.
I would love to see it where you have a designated Customer Service person that whenever you have an issue, that is who you call. They would know your set up, your strengths and weakness (if any) and calls would be more productive.
Have 1 or 2 people in your company very familiar with Ceridian. It will help tremendously.

Single record experience has allowed us to consolidate from four logins to one! No more duplication of work and overlaying of reporting.
Working with product development on expanding automation of recruiting messaging to candidates applying.
Take the discovery process seriously, dedicate a solid team for implementation and involve all levels of employees when making configuration decisions.
Dayna from Terrane Metals Corp
Dayforce is such an easy to use system that it has decreased the work load for our Payroll and HR department. We can now process pay in half the time than our old system. It has also decreased the usage of excel spreadsheets to track information such as TAFW, schedules and accruals.
The customer support team needs a little more training on resolving incidents in a timely matter. Representatives should be assigned to an organization so they can gain the knowledge regarding that particular system, this would help to help their clients faster.
Take the time to configure the system correctly during implementation. Utilize the implementation team's expertise as they are able to teach you the ins and outs of your own system. No one is better qualified in your system then you are.
Stacy from Convoy Supply
Dayforce is a one stop shop that houses all information on our employee's and give them the ability to manager certain aspects of their personnel file as well as managers. Ceridian listened to our needs and continues to do so.
The previous version of Dayforce reporting was not user friendly but they have listened and reports are much easier in the new version just released.
Take the time to listen to your companies business needs and wants from the President right down to the employee. Once you know what's wanted then start shopping for the product that is best going to supply the companies business needs.

easy to set up your own "View' if applicants and sort reqs.
limited ability to attach interview feedback and eval forms - reporting function is very limited and very hard to use have to run many reports and manually combine data to get what your looking for
not sure - look at how it functions based on your everyday use of the product. Don't accept what is offered in the software at face value - ask questions about how if pertains to your daily workflow

flexibility to configure it to our specific local needs. Great support team to work through challenges and identify solutions with us. streamlines processes, better line of sight reporting and live data for the organization
nothing comes to mind here. matched out business needs
have the end users see the demo / part of discussions upfront. Have a strong implementation support team on your end to drive the project and keep on track

Payroll!!!!! It's the best on the market. So easy to use, so easy to configure and adaptable to ever-changing needs of the business. If you get any other system for Payroll you'll be doing yourself a disservice.
I hav eto be honest, the implementation. The product is great, but I would highly recommend they staff their implementation team with people who have a background in Human Resources.
If you are going to use Dayforce's Benefits, start them RIGHT AWAY! Gather requirements and contact information from you carriers and what they need on the feeds and get that ball rolling immediately. Also, prepare your organization early. If you have early engagement, you'll have less resistance.

Dayforce HCM is the way to go. Once you have configured YOUR Dayforce to fit the needs of your company it saves time on payroll, time and attendance, benefits. The self-service module is easy even for users who are not "computer savvy". The icons in Dayforce tell you exactly what you need to know when dealing with time and attendance and where you problems or issues are. 24/7 support is available as well as online interactive training for ALL users which is extremely helpful.
The reporting is a little tough, however with a system upgrade coming up here soon it seems as if they really have listened to their customers complaints or ideas and reporting will be much easier.
Know how you want your system to work to fit your business needs. The system is configurable so once you have your expectations of the system in place, you will be good to go! After many demos of different payroll systems, I am extremely happy about choosing Dayforce HCM.
Jamie from 1st Liberty FCU
Ceridian stays on top of hot topics and changes that effect payroll on a State and Federal level. Like having the integration of the timeclock, payroll and HRIS systems together. Ability to review payrolls prior to a final submission.
Technical support wait time when calling in for issues. Support staff does not appear to be as knowledgeable as in the past. Some issues are resolved on the first call and at times the support individual is incorrect having to place another call in for the issue to be resolved.
Review your needs for your company and match those needs with the software solution(s). Make sure the technical support is available when you need it and able to grow as the company grows.

We are always looking for a way to provide visibility to our Managers and employees. Automation is key, with Dayforce we are able to go paperless and automate most manual functions.
Implementation is time consuming, but worth it. The workbook is very intense and everything requires mapping.
Consider a product for the further, Ceridian is constantly evolving and this is important when picking a partner.

The software is web based and very user friendly. The vendor is highly supportive and provides great customer service.
I felt like implementation could have gone smoother with a little more detailed information provided during testing.
I recommend that you actually work with the software for a decent amount of time prior to submitting your review.

Their willing to listen to the customers as it relates to areas in which they can improve the product.
The MyMove product is a bit behind the times as it relates to moving the data from our current system into Dayforce.
Make a list of all the things that are important to you from a system standpoint. Create scenarios and make each vendor demonstrate the exact same scenario. This allows you to see how each handles, versus allowing the vendor driving the demonstrations showcasing their best areas.
Michelle from Farm Credit Foundations
Dayforce HCM is continuing to change and evolve and clients have had their voices heard in many instances. Ceridian has come to the table with open ears to hear the business case behind functionality needs and has proven that they will listen to clients needs and implement changes that make sense for both the client and the direction of Dayforce. Each release has improved the usability of the application and has made it more flexible to meeting different organizational needs.
The application is robust and allows for several different approaches to configuration. Because the product is relatively new and ever evolving, understanding all of the capabilities of the application and how the pieces work together can be a challenge when attempting to determine the best direction in configuration/implementation.
Before looking at software solutions, spend the time internally evaluating what functionality is most critical to the organization. Identify the top 5 must haves in order to be successful. Develop test cases around these items and ask the vendor to prove out the functionality. Each vendor will approach the request from a different angle and this approach will allow end users to see the critical/must have functionality in action. Move beyond asking to see how an employee/manager submits a transactions. Ask about a complex payroll, benefits, time tracking process.
