Created by Ceridian, Dayforce HCM is a complete human capital management system housed in a unified suite. It supports applications for core human resources, payroll, benefits administration, on-boarding and more. The system is Web-based and browser-agnostic for ultimate compatibility and flexibility.

Made to fit the needs of all of an organization's workers, Dayforce HCM is a one-stop shop for employees to check work-related information and transactions, for managers to get access to real-time reports—with embedded analytics—on their team and for executives to get key data from across departments and applications. With only one interface and one record for every employee, redundancy and errors are minimized.

Ceridian’s experts can also assist with tax filings, garnishments and other payroll-related necessities. Multi-currency and language support is available, with additional support for international personnel tracking. For the few HR applications not included in Dayforce HCM, such as video interviewing, seamless integration with other platforms is available.

Dayforce is such an easy to use system that it has decreased the work load for our Payroll and HR department. We can now process pay in half the time than our old system. It has also decreased the usage of excel spreadsheets to track information such as TAFW, schedules and accruals.

The customer support team needs a little more training on resolving incidents in a timely matter. Representatives should be assigned to an organization so they can gain the knowledge regarding that particular system, this would help to help their clients faster.

Recommendations

Take the time to configure the system correctly during implementation. Utilize the implementation team's expertise as they are able to teach you the ins and outs of your own system. No one is better qualified in your system then you are.

Dayforce is a one stop shop that houses all information on our employee's and give them the ability to manager certain aspects of their personnel file as well as managers. Ceridian listened to our needs and continues to do so.

The previous version of Dayforce reporting was not user friendly but they have listened and reports are much easier in the new version just released.

Recommendations

Take the time to listen to your companies business needs and wants from the President right down to the employee. Once you know what's wanted then start shopping for the product that is best going to supply the companies business needs.

not sure - look at how it functions based on your everyday use of the product. Don't accept what is offered in the software at face value - ask questions about how if pertains to your daily workflow

Payroll!!!!! It's the best on the market. So easy to use, so easy to configure and adaptable to ever-changing needs of the business. If you get any other system for Payroll you'll be doing yourself a disservice.

I hav eto be honest, the implementation. The product is great, but I would highly recommend they staff their implementation team with people who have a background in Human Resources.

Recommendations

If you are going to use Dayforce's Benefits, start them RIGHT AWAY! Gather requirements and contact information from you carriers and what they need on the feeds and get that ball rolling immediately. Also, prepare your organization early. If you have early engagement, you'll have less resistance.

It is very user friendly. When I joined Pronto I didn't have time for in depth training and I pretty much learned everything myself.

I must say the least thing I like is the timeliness of a response when I submit a ticket. When I do get a return phone call it takes me a moment to remember what it was I submitted a ticket for and by that time I have usually figured it out myself.

Recommendations

I was not part of the team when the evaluation and implementation took place.

Dayforce HCM is the way to go. Once you have configured YOUR Dayforce to fit the needs of your company it saves time on payroll, time and attendance, benefits. The self-service module is easy even for users who are not "computer savvy". The icons in Dayforce tell you exactly what you need to know when dealing with time and attendance and where you problems or issues are. 24/7 support is available as well as online interactive training for ALL users which is extremely helpful.

The reporting is a little tough, however with a system upgrade coming up here soon it seems as if they really have listened to their customers complaints or ideas and reporting will be much easier.

Know how you want your system to work to fit your business needs. The system is configurable so once you have your expectations of the system in place, you will be good to go! After many demos of different payroll systems, I am extremely happy about choosing Dayforce HCM.

Ceridian stays on top of hot topics and changes that effect payroll on a State and Federal level. Like having the integration of the timeclock, payroll and HRIS systems together. Ability to review payrolls prior to a final submission.

Technical support wait time when calling in for issues. Support staff does not appear to be as knowledgeable as in the past. Some issues are resolved on the first call and at times the support individual is incorrect having to place another call in for the issue to be resolved.

Recommendations

Review your needs for your company and match those needs with the software solution(s). Make sure the technical support is available when you need it and able to grow as the company grows.

We are always looking for a way to provide visibility to our Managers and employees. Automation is key, with Dayforce we are able to go paperless and automate most manual functions.

The MyMove product is a bit behind the times as it relates to moving the data from our current system into Dayforce.

Recommendations

Make a list of all the things that are important to you from a system standpoint. Create scenarios and make each vendor demonstrate the exact same scenario. This allows you to see how each handles, versus allowing the vendor driving the demonstrations showcasing their best areas.

Dayforce HCM is continuing to change and evolve and clients have had their voices heard in many instances. Ceridian has come to the table with open ears to hear the business case behind functionality needs and has proven that they will listen to clients needs and implement changes that make sense for both the client and the direction of Dayforce. Each release has improved the usability of the application and has made it more flexible to meeting different organizational needs.

The application is robust and allows for several different approaches to configuration. Because the product is relatively new and ever evolving, understanding all of the capabilities of the application and how the pieces work together can be a challenge when attempting to determine the best direction in configuration/implementation.

Recommendations

Before looking at software solutions, spend the time internally evaluating what functionality is most critical to the organization. Identify the top 5 must haves in order to be successful. Develop test cases around these items and ask the vendor to prove out the functionality. Each vendor will approach the request from a different angle and this approach will allow end users to see the critical/must have functionality in action. Move beyond asking to see how an employee/manager submits a transactions. Ask about a complex payroll, benefits, time tracking process.

Going into our discovery and configuration, we didn't know what we didn't know. We have found many more areas that are helpful to us that we are step by step learning to configure on our own because we didn't think to ask on the front end. The system is so robust and capable, we couldn't begin to understand it's capabilities. Now that we have, we are learning to configure things for ourselves.

Recommendations

Go to a Dine and Dayforce event, and go to Insights. Check out all of the capabilities of other systems before making a choice. Some things you just have to see for yourself to know how amazing a tool like Dayforce can be to your organization.

We transitioned from a multi-system process to Dayforce HCM. The ability to operate in a single system is a huge time saver. It is real time record keeping so no transferring of data to a mainframe. From a payroll processing perspective, we no longer need to lock the system down from other users in order to process. Our commit time has also been greatly reduced from hours to a matter of minutes. Our employees are more active in approving their timesheets and allows the employer to hold them more accountable, reducing the amount of corrections after the fact.

Our implementation team was awesome and gave us great attention. Now that we are with customer support, I don't feel that we have the same level of importance. Maybe we just got spoiled....but more frequent correspondence with customer service would be nice.

Recommendations

The implementation process is a huge part of getting the system set up correctly. Make sure you have a strong internal team that can commit the time and effort. The implementation team is there to help so utilize them at every opportunity.

Very user friendly and easy to use, especially for employees who are proficient in technology. Timesheet and scheduling modules provide a great snap shot of employees approvals, balances and work schedule. One of my favorite features is the ability to delegate user access and privileges for holiday coverage.

Slow client solution response times. If you are requesting a special report or task, it can take awhile to have that request completed. I had to wait over a month for my custom compensation report. Solution response time for any issues that impact the business are a lot quicker (a couple of business days) however I would still prefer it was quicker.

Recommendations

Call other customers for reviews. I checked out many software solutions and found this system was the one that checked all the boxes. We found it had everything we wanted (and more) in a software solution and was a lot less expensive than others. The customer service is really what sets them apart. Even if you happen to have any issues throughout implementation, the team ensures your issues are resolved and always strives to exceed your expectations.

I love the fact that I can go into a future pay date and see if future increases or changes have worked. This takes away the stress of having to wait until the day I am processing payroll. I also really like the test portal. In the test environment I can see the results of new earnings or deductions before putting them into production.

Report Writing - I find it difficult sometimes to find the topic I am looking for in the report writing tool, so it takes me several attempts to collect the data I am trying to report on.

Recommendations

Make sure you know what your company needs from Ceridian and relate that to the implementation people to make sure they can build it into your system. Communication during implementation is the key. Keep an open mind when it comes to changing the way you currently process payroll.
