Paycom is a cloud-based payroll management solution that enables organizations to automate payroll processes. The platform stores all employee-related data in one place and ensures that changes are reflected in real-time across the system. The product also provides an in-person client specialist to each customer who requests help.

Paycom is able to create reports that can be imported to other accounting solutions. The expense management feature automates the expense reimbursement process and defines rules, categories and parameters for employees to monitor claims. Employees can also upload bills related to expenses by using a self-service portal available within the tool.

Paycom is able to debit payroll taxes on time, depositing them on or before due dates and handles all other payroll tax filings. Other features offered by the solution include garnishment management, online payroll processing and payroll analytics. Paycom is ACA compliant and handles all requirements related to 1094 and 1095 reporting.

* I am not the admin but just a user of this software. My feedback could potentially be about how our organization uses Paycom and not paycom itself...
That being said, I am not a huge fan. It seems a bit clunky to navigate, clicking around several times to get anywhere. It seems to have lots of functionality that we do not use, therefore it would be nice to be able to remove those in order not to confuse those in search of something.

Went from ADP to Paycom back to ADP

Pros

At first, Paycom seems like a viable alternative. The support team was MUCH better than anything you'll get from ADP.

Cons

We had to abandon this because of differential shifts. Meaning we have a 3rd shift that starts at 10pm Sunday night and clocks out at 6am Monday morning. Paycom couldn't handle the date change and ended up reflecting as two work days.

Excellent Payroll System

Paycom has allowed us to go fully paperless, instant employment changes, and fast payroll processing. Even better, we've cut down on the time our HR and Benefits Department spends assisting our organization with its intuitive, easy-to-use functionality. The best part is our ability to encourage our organization to use Paycom via the app, so payroll and accruals, and other necessary information is one-touch away in the palm of our hands.

Pros

What's the most important element of a software your entire organization uses? Their payroll system and Paycom accomplishes that and much more. Paycom is universally seamless to use and navigate. The best part is how intuitive it is to view and manage timecards, request time off, and change employee information...fast and at your fingertips.

Cons

Paycom has been seamless since our launch about two thirds of a year ago, and there are no cons. This was accomplished by the phenomenal job the Paycom team did to train our organization.

Mostly good...

Pros

Easy to use, time clock accurate, ability to view pay stubs for multiple time periods, payments on time.

Cons

We used this time clock/payroll system at a very large practice. On one occurrence, we received the wrong amount for a paycheck and 200+ employees bank accounts were compromised.

Great product!

great software to have handy at the ready for any of your financial set up with your employer.

Pros

This software is extremely intuitive and easy to use. login, clock in, clock out. Any information is available to you at any time via App. Everyone I work with who have used this product rarely ever has anything negative to say about it. 4-5 stars every time. During my recent purchase of my house i was able to pull up all my verifyable finatials through the app in a momments notice in just seconds.

Cons

App view vs desktop view is a little different and made it a little difficult for the first 15 minutes. Other than that, there are no cons.

Not a good experience at all

We have been with Paycom for three years and the money I have spent with them has, many times, felt like I am being taken advantage of. If anyone wonders why we still use them, it is not easy changing payroll companies for a 300 person firm. I am sure their intentions are good, their product is not bad but their handling of problems is atrocious. It is unbelievably frustrating and 2019 is the year we start with someone else. There are a lot of good people there and a lot of poor management. Maybe they should take some of the little guys and move them up the ladder.

Pros

The time it took to convert from ADP to Paycom was good, but not high quality. Daily tech support was very good but levels above that began to go downhill.quickly.

Cons

Just about everything. Promises were made in the beginning and some of them were, literally, just lies. These empty promises were just completely ignored.
Initial implementation was riddled with problems and very little support from tech side. Follow-up issues were addressed with "I promise to make sure everything is resolved". I heard this from a number of higher level people and never heard from them again. Every year our W2s were sent out incorrect without being allowed to review them prior to posting them to employees. Adjustments were made to our bi-weekly payroll without our knowledge and it took sometimes days or weeks to get explanations. We were charged for things that we were told were part of the payroll processing fee. There are so many things they do wrong, consistently, it is hard to give them any credit for what they do right.

Human Capital Management approach e.g. recruiting onboarding, payroll, benefits administration and compliance features.

Cons

Payroll processing costs for bi-weekly is expensive. First demonstration did not seem like they listened to our needs e.g. Healthcare industry, so examples they provided "missed the mark."

Paycom is definitely a better option than we had when we used ADP, more intuitive and much easier to navigate and much less manual processes.

Cons

Still a little clunky. I’m not a fan of the ATS they provide and would rather use something else.

Inferior Technology

Pros

Paycom is consistently working on new updates. They have an online system that is seldom down. The login feature is user friendly.

Cons

The system technology and capability to process basic payroll schedules, and basic custom reports are extremely limited. The ATS system foes not retain a candidate pool of applicants that have applied and were booted out. There technology does not offer a 360 401k EDI file. There timecard can not total hours outside if payroll dates.

It is so complicated to use this app or website. The worst part is that every month it signs me out completely and just to log back in, but my security questions never seem to work.

Paycom is an all in one system...but not everyone will use it

I think Paycom helped us consolidate programs, and sheets, and software, and platforms. But we then ran into the issue of people not accepting change and migrating into Paycom.

Pros

I did like that it's all in one. For a very lean HR team it's heaven sent! Having to login to multiple systems is tedious and Paycom bundles everything up.

Cons

There are a lot of clicks - which is anticipated since it does so much! Possibly too much? Out Accounting team was not a fan and that made it difficult for my team to completely utilize.

A great option for small businesses

Pros

Working in finance operations and HR, I was able to use the software as an Admin and as an employee. Paycom was extremely easy for employees to use to view paychecks, tax documents, PTO, etc. On the back end, it was a pretty good option for a small business to run payroll. With employees working across the country, Paycom support was helpful in setting up local and state tax accounts, and making sure that we fulfill legal requirements. We also had the option to make corrections to payrolls (such as if an employee fails to report a change of address in time) in previous quarters, but at an extra cost.

Cons

When I first started using the software, we had 50 employees and now have 150. I find that as the company grew, it became a little difficult to use Paycom in special cases. I had to use CSV files in a very specified format and sometimes support would not know which template was appropriate. It required a lot of manual work. If you deviate even slightly from the format, it would either not work or make changes that you do not intend. Also, we had issues every year with with how travel reimbursement expenses were reported on both W2 and 1099 individuals, despite contacting support well in advance.

Simple, Clean and Easy to Use System

Pros

Single point of information from applying for a position to automating notices that need to go out when an employee is terminated. We started simple with the basic features and have been continuing to add and add using more and more of the system.

Cons

My only big complaint revolves around reporting on the manager side of the system. It can be a lot of trial and error to get the report that you are after. The only nice thing is once you do have a report you like then you can save and just go back and re-run that same report which makes it easier to replicate.

The very best company for all HR and Payroll needs!

Pros

I have found that everything you need within the HR world is right at your fingertips with Paycom. Now that we use Applicant Tracking and Document and Task Management, our onboarding process has been simplified for our new employees, our supervisors and myself. The ease of use within the entire system makes my job much easier.

Cons

The only thing I can think of as a suggestion is that Paycom have an interdepartmental communication system be in place so that supervisors and employees can message each other within Paycom.
