While implementation had its challenges, we are pleased with the process thus far. Paycom has shown a willingness to partner with us, listen to our needs, and find solutions. Pros:

Excellent implementation team collaboration: The Paycom team worked closely with us throughout implementation and communication was spot on. They remained engaged, responsive, and genuinely worked to understand our business needs. Strong problem-solving for unique setups: We are a very unique organization with many specialized payroll, HR, and timekeeping requirements. Although there were hiccups during implementation, the Paycom team stayed on top of our special requests and worked hard to find workable solutions. User-friendly platform: Ease of use has been a big plus. The IWant feature is especially helpful and makes navigating the system much easier for both employees and administrators. Continuous improvement mindset: Even when challenges came up, the implementation team stayed focused on getting issues resolved rather than letting things stall.

Cons:

Implementation hiccups: As with any major system transition, there were bumps along the way. Some processes took extra time to configure due to our complex and unique business requirements. Learning curve: We are still learning the platform and finishing up a few items for full implementation, so there are areas we are still exploring and refining internally.

Reasons for switching to Paycom

Too expensive, not as user friendly, creating custom reports was difficult.

Overall my experience has been good. Again, we had a rough introduction but once we got a solid team- shout out to Heather Stanbury, it went fine. Now that we are fully integrated, Ashly Carter has been extremely responsive and supportive. I appreciate that she calls me without request so that things can be resolved quickly.

Pros:

Paycom is extrememly user friendly. As an HR leader, I have always wanted to have a HCM platform that provides payroll, HR, time tracking and talent management all in one platform; and Paycom does that.

Cons:

The intergration process started off rocky. A couple of key players in our integration team left which put us behind. We then had to invest more time in getting our new team player up to speed and on track.

Reasons for choosing Paycom

We went with Paycom due to it's single Database and onboarding & certification tools.

Reasons for switching to Paycom

Financially it did not make sense. The Admin fees kept going up and the service and support we were given did not match the price point.

Ease of use in the system and mobile phone compatible. The Paycom app is very easy to use and navigate.

Cons:

Still some glitches with location mainly on non-iphone devices. Sometimes harder to login when switching from mobile to desktop.

Pros:

The all in one solution makes things easier as I only have to enter an employee one time. It keeps me from being redundant in my work.

Cons:

Customer service is hit or miss. While their customer service is great if you get a tenured rep, if you get someone who is not tenured it is a mess trying to get them to understand what you are trying to explain and the issue at hand.

Reasons for switching to Paycom

Our COO at the time wanted Paycom and they made the decision to switch. Also, we were two companies that merged and one company was using it already.

A Platform That Has Grown with Our Business

We've used Paycom across multiple retail locations and corporate operations, and it has become a central part of our HR and payroll processes. As a multi-state employer, I've found payroll management to be well organized and relatively straightforward across different state requirements. The digital onboarding experience creates a professional first impression for new hires, simplifies the hiring process, and has helped us create a more consistent onboarding experience. The employee self-service features have reduced administrative work by allowing employees to manage many routine tasks themselves, while timekeeping has improved accountability by encouraging employees to review, correct, and approve their own timecards. No HRIS is perfect, but Paycom continues to evolve with new features and has been a reliable solution that has supported our organization's growth.

Pros:

Paycom has significantly streamlined our payroll and HR processes by bringing payroll, onboarding, timekeeping, benefits, and employee self-service into one platform. Payroll processing is intuitive once configured, and Payroll Preview helps identify potential issues before payroll is finalized. The onboarding experience is seamless for new hires, and the timekeeping tools have reduced manual work while encouraging employees to take ownership of their timecards and approvals. Overall, the platform has improved efficiency for both HR administrators and employees.

Cons:

The area with the greatest opportunity for improvement is after-hours support. As an organization with retail locations operating seven days a week, many payroll, scheduling, and timekeeping questions arise outside of traditional business hours, particularly on evenings and weekends. While the AI support tools have improved and continue to get better, they aren't always able to answer more complex questions or guide you to the right solution. That said, my dedicated specialist and support pod have consistently been responsive during business hours and genuinely work to resolve issues thoroughly. Expanding access to knowledgeable support beyond standard business hours would make an already strong platform even better for organizations that operate around the clock.

In the end, we chose Paycom because of our salesperson. They took the time to understand our business, answered our questions honestly, and demonstrated how the platform would meet our needs rather than simply giving us a sales pitch. That level of confidence and partnership made a significant difference in our decision.

Reasons for switching to Paycom

As our company continued to grow, we needed a platform that could scale with our business and consolidate many of our HR and payroll functions into one system. Our previous payroll provider met our basic payroll needs, but we were looking for a more comprehensive solution that offered payroll, onboarding, timekeeping, benefits administration, employee self-service, reporting, and performance management in a single platform. One of the biggest factors in our decision was Paycom's Payroll Preview feature, which allows us to identify and resolve payroll issues before payroll is processed. As a small HR and payroll team supporting multiple retail locations and employees across several states, having predictive payroll reporting and automated workflows has significantly improved our efficiency while providing employees with a centralized place to manage their payroll and HR information.

We found ADP Workforce Now’s user interface to be a bit dated and clunky for both administrators and employees. We switched to PayCom to provide a more modern, intuitive, and mobile-friendly self-service experience for our team.

I like how simple and intuitive Paycom is to use. The payroll process is seamless, and features like timesheet management, PTO requests, and access to pay stubs make it very convenient for both employees and administrators.

Cons:

Pros:

Our company switched from a different payroll system. I have worked with HRIS systems my entire career, including the 3 letter big name and similar systems and this by far is my favorite.

Cons:

A bit of a learning curve, but the interface is pretty self explanatory. Any questions we have, we just reach out to our rep.

Reasons for choosing Paycom

Pricing and company needs. ADP will always be the more expensive one. Gusto wasn't big enough for us.

Reasons for switching to Paycom

Too expensive with a lot of bugs. Timesheets were in a silo and didn't always transfer correctly into payroll.

Pros:

The customer support and how easy the reporting is within Paycom. I also like the fact that you can geed instant feedback from your account manager.

Cons:

The only issue I run into is when you upload a tax letter there does not seem to be any notification or communication back once the issue is resolved.

Reasons for switching to Paycom

ADP was not able to give us the support we needed or the reporting that we needed.
