Everything is fairly automated, and with the right training and knowledge, everything becomes very seamless. If used properly, Marketo's automated services will satisfy all your needs. It is a very functional, high quality product.

Likes Least

For large amounts of customers or databases, there are some limitations. Also, there is a bit of a learning curve when starting off.

Recommendations

Definitely a great buy for small companies that are looking for an automated marketing solution. However, take the time to do some training and learn how to use the product effectively.

I like the ease and simplicity of the product, as the interface is fairly simple.

Likes Least

The database limitations and pricing put limitations (albeit justified) on our usage.

Recommendations

Learn HTML beforehand. It helped me out quite a bit. Also, taking the Marketo training course helps.

It's a powerful tool with a lot of marketing capabilities if used properly. It can give great info. There's ways to manipulate the system to get give people insights. There's a huge community of people who can help. It's a popular item. They have roadshows and webinars. They are the industry leader. It provides a lot of functionality that its competitors don't have. I use Mailchimp and it doesn't have half the capabilities of Marketo.

It's mostly for companys with large lists of customers and databases. It doesn't always make sense how to do things, as it's not easy. Unless you have a consultant or take classes, it can be diffcult to learn. The community can be hard to navigate, and I think it takes too long to wait for responses/

Recommendations

Take courses, pay the money and hire a good one on one consultant. It's worth the money. Training videos help, but unless you actually go through your specific company's needs, it doesn't matter. Each company has to do things differently and therefore need to use Marketo differently.
