The system records billable and non-billable time for employees and can separately track non-client time for contractors and consultants. Time entry can be done in the office or on the go, the system can convert appointments into time entries for billing purposes. The software offers billing rates, batch invoicing, and automated payment integration with 24/7 client access to invoices via secure client payment portal.

I really like the option of adding/creating multiple cases under one client without having to duplicate the client. I also like the Add Expense option, which allows you to specfically categorize what your expense is (i.e. mileage, copies, filing fee, etc)
I wish they would create an app for it for cell phones. I have a habit of forgetting to enter time that I need to enter whenever I am out of the office (i.e. phone calls with clients on the weekend or in the evenings).

Pricing seems confusing. Charges for the 1st user, then for each additional user. Why not just charge the same per user?
I was able to generate an invoice (customized with my logo) within about 30 minutes of signing up. That includes configuration of an online payment portal where the client can pay via PayPal. Covers most everything I need for routine time tracking, expense reports and billing for clients.
It has 5 user types, which is more than I need for a one-man consulting firm. Probably better for larger firms.

I've used Bill4Time for more than 5 years, and they have continually worked to adapt and add additional features. It is a very good product.
Bill4Time is very intuitive, and the customer support staff are responsive and very easy to work with. Bill4Time provides a very functional platform that allows busy professionals to have the tools they need at their fingertips wherever they are.
Bill4Time is great at tracking time and providing reports for the time and invoices, but it is not a full scale CRM. That has not been a problem for my firm, as that was not the purpose.

You can't show write offs on the bill. you can't print an invoice with your own notes on it. You can't apply one check to multiple invoices. So I can't use it to track payments. It doesn't differentiate between checks and wires.

The interface permits users to enter information for clients, matters, and amounts billed each month.
We changed plan mid-month and were billed twice for adding the same user, even though Bill4 Time does not disclose anywhere on its website that it refuses to pro-rate bills. So, beware that if you need to add a user and also need to change plans, you will be billed twice for that same user. The Company's support representative (which appears to be a single person) does not seem to grasp why this is inappropriate. We requested a refund of this double billing charge, and they refused to honor it.

I've used several time and billing programs and this is head and shoulders above the rest. Very user friendly with more options than you need, this makes tracking time and billing it actually fun, believe it or not! I put another screen on my computer just for time entry, and that has been a big plus too.

I have had the trial version of Bill4Time installed on my iPhone for two weeks. I am working as a solo practitioner between GC positions, and I just wanted an app that could act like a clock in my pocket, easily tracking time billed to clients. Bill4Time in the iPhone has several problems. If you shut off the app before hitting the "save" key, it loses the time (the entire data entry) for the time you are tracking. The clock that shows at the top of the screen only counts time while the iPhone is awake (although you find out later that the time was actually being counted in the background even though the time count of the face of the app was wrong). You can not over-ride time entries with corrected time or make time entries that were not clocked by the app itself on the iPhone. Those are only a few of the problems I found with it. The iPhone app must not have been beta tested with a large number of users to catch these flaws, because they should have been easy to correct. Since this app has been in use for several months now (as of December 12, 2015), they also should have had time to fix the flaws and re-release the software. This indicates a team that is not supporting their product with needed releases. In fairness, I did not call customer service because I am not interested in waiting until beta test flaws are corrected and re-released.
