Very useful tool for any company with a decisive turnover

Pros

With installing Adaptive Insights it has become possible to manage our budget much more effectively. We have been using AI for quite a long time now, and so far haven’t considered replacing it by anything else. This program has everything we need in work. If you need a solid assistant that would reduce the time spent on dealing with financial disorders of your organization, Adaptive Insights is exactly what you should give a chance to. I think it would be better to get familiar with some available learning materials in advance, so that there will be no need in wasting time on that in the process.

Cons

There’s a list of programs similar to this one, which have their integration abilities holding back an overall potential visibly. This is not about AI, though. During installation and linking all needed software to it inside the network, I didn’t get to face any considerable problems. The only thing that bothers a bit is, like was already mentioned, the time needed to figure everything out.

Helps with filling financial gaps a lot

Pros

I would claim everything AI offers to be satisfactory enough for me and my team, but there are some things that need to be underlined. Firstly, an ease of use and adaptability make the platform the most apposite of the kind in terms of efficiency. Secondly, there are no flaws in analyzing data concerning financial operations at all, which reflects in AI’s work by its predestination. I like the way a customer service is made in. There are not really that many opportunities to contact those who are responsible for dealing with customer dissatisfaction, but all of them work and work better than I thought. Online help is available for everyone who uses this piece of software, and this option is pretty much all that an average user may need at this point.

Cons

I don’t think there’s anything that would deserve being mentioned in a section about disadvantages, but for the amount of time required to get to know how the program is to be operated with, which, to be honest, at first seemed confusing to me as well. There’s also a lack of possibilities to learn all the needed stuff from tutorials and user guides, as there are not really that much of them. Besides that, though, usage of AI is more than beneficial.

Great Excel alternative

Pros

At first, there is an insignificant learning curve, but it is very easy to cope with. In the future work very rarely there are difficulties with understanding the program. The workflow has become much more effective thanks to Adaptive Insights and its great functions.

Cons

The complexity of studying this product arises again and again for a long time. Perhaps, it is necessary to simplify some processes a little.

Powerful budget managing tool

Pros

I was very pleased with this tool mainly because it is very easy to use and the user does not have to spend too much time to fully understand all of its functions and features. A distinctive feature of this product is the ability to choose the method and change the planning settings throughout the process. I was very impressed with the ability of this product to adapt.

Cons

Despite the convenience of using this product, the interface still needs some slight improvements. I very often had problems understanding this product while I was learning to use it. And this is a very common problem, since it occurs when working with almost every function of this tool.

A generally "adaptive" tool

The tool does a good job of replacing excel for critical business planning functions like forecasting.

Cons

The software can be expensive and time consuming to get set up correctly and occasionally gets glitchy.

Powerful aid in planning effectively, visualising performanc,e monitoring results, intuitive

Pros

Adaptive Insights is called 'adaptive' for a reason - it has a dynamic response to data and reporting- it takes planning, budgeting and forecasting processes out of the realm of slow and manual planning. You can personalise and generate self-intereactive dashboards and charts.

Cons

Its use of Java slows down responsiveness at times dependent on the browser or version of Java installed.

Adaptive Insights for Dynamic Businesses

Pros

There are so many dynamic factors in today's business climate. As a start-up MSP as we are adding partners and capabilities - both software and software across different verticals in our business plan daily, we have a very elastic business model. Yet, we are still financially constrained in start-up mode. So, our projections for revenue, allocation, and hiring as we build our short to long term business plan requires more agility. The ability to aggregate more nimble data to make adjustments in our projections, justifications in key areas like hiring or expansion, and where to focus our budget allocations requires the sophistication representative of what Adaptive Insights offers as opposed to something more static.

Cons

It is too soon for us to measure the impact, but we can't imagine undertaking our growth without something like this for managing and forecasting.

Forecasting made easy!

We were able to better forecast for a large multi affiliate company.

Pros

I love that Adaptive Insights made forecasting so easy. I liked that we could have every department contribute to the forecast and have it all roll into one easy to read report.

Cons

I don't like that changes didn't update in real time, but rather after a refresh. I believe you can have it refresh often so it can be close to real time.

Awesome tool for budgeting and forecasting. We don't even maximize the product and still love it!

The ability to ditch Excel for our annual budget process

Pros

The ability to track payroll, depreciation, and other "sheets" to roll up in the data. Also, we load actuals from our G/L to help with forecasting. Overall, an awesome product.

Cons

Not to much to say here, but there are some complex formulas that need to be written at times. Need to be very careful the data is pulling from the proper sheets when creating a new version(s).

Robust FP&A software. Implementation is costly and seems cumbersome.

Ability to see important financial data necessary for accurate forecasting and budgeting.

Pros

The NetSuite integration, and the connector to MS office applications to automatically update decks is excellent.

Cons

Setting up reports initially can be time consuming, and requires a lot of assistance from the vendor.

While good, I wish it drilled down lower

It aids in our budgeting process

Pros

Adaptive is helpful for accounting and P&L statements from a big picture standpoint. When you need to see your overall profit or revenue statements, it's good. When you need to drill down to find exactly what's in each cell, it becomes much harder.

Cons

I wish more users could access it for our work group. We have additional users that need to have access for budgeting purposes, but it is cost prohibitive to add them on to the package.

Good tool

Pros

It seems to be adaptive from the free trial. Good forecasting based on revenue and expenditure. You can easily customize and the options to import and export is pretty easy. You can easily export to excel.

Cons

Little bit of a learning curve but once you get it, you got it! It's fairly difficult to get set up and get it going but when that's done, it's easy.

Pretty flexible and adaptive

Adaptive is a good substitute for the good old Excel. While it may automate most of the manual work, Adaptive has a quite a room for improvement and I am very hopeful they will continue to get better.

Pros

Adaptive Insights allows to effectively manage both actual data and budget data in one place. Interactive dashboard and data visualization provide real time metric. Another good feature is that it allows collaboration on projects across various departments of the company.

Cons

There were issues with foreign currency conversions that just shouldn't be there in this type of software. It also uses Java which sometimes gives inconsistent user experience (or just won't respond) depending on the browser used and the version of Java installed. The security permissions for users were also not very intuitive to set up.

Great Analytics Software

I would recommend this product hands down over the competitors.

Pros

Full-featured software with all the bells and whistles. It has unlimited flexibility in reporting and analysis options. The reporting features are extremely easy to use, and they can be customized and shared with ease.

Cons

Requires a lot of training to use, but it's worth it in the long run. The software is expensive, and it does require assistance with implementation since there is so much to do to get it up and running.

Cons

Set up took awhile. Slight learning curve. At times page loading slow. As a netsuite user I have had data integration issues. Adaptive did its job. No other complaints.

Super fast and easy to use

Pros

I have been in FP&A for for 5 years and have become somewhat versed in different systems and adaptive has been the best. Super fast updates with the ability to create different forecast scenarios.

Cons

Some of its features don't work on Macs, but otherwise nothing to serious here.
