Pros

What I like most about Quickbooks is it's simpleness. If you did your own payroll, you would know exactly what I'm talking about. Quickbooks payroll has been the easiest and most effective payroll tool I've utilized.

Cons

The only problem I would say I've had is that it sometimes lags. It can make my computer really slow at times and also, it crashes from time to time.

Value for Money

This suits our small business needs and keeps track of our invoicing and expenses. I think that if you gave it more time to really learn all the features, it could be more useful.

Pros

As far as accounting software goes, this one seems to have great features that I use weekly. Invoicing is very simple. If you regularly do the same sort of categories for work, it is great to be able to have this info auto-populate when generating an invoice. The financial reporting is easy to navigate and you can also create user logins for your accountant or employees.

Cons

Initially the software is hard to learn. I had to google a few tutorials on how to perform certain functions which I considered basic. There are many layers to this software and I feel that I am not using it to it's full potential as I find the instructions difficult to decipher. Online support is helpful, but I think they could do more.

Finding it difficult to navigate, also the terminology is American and does not always correspond with what we would say in England. I have been trying to find where to put down money I have taken out of the business, hear its called drawings or personal payments, there is no section for this on the online quickbooks that I have just subscribed to.

This software is worlds better than it was 2 years ago. Quickbooks has made changes based on customer suggestions.

Pros

It is cloud-based, so accessible anywhere; tries to be user-friendly and has a pleasant look and feel.

Cons

Can be overwhelming without tutorial or training due to the volume of optional features. Sometimes it is hard to find the desired feature hidden in drop-down menus.

Quickbooks Online is Super Effiecient

QB Online has a lot of great new features that you can even add to your mobile device. If you're a small business or just starting out, I would definitely consider using this program for its features, price point, and ease-of-use.

Pros

QuickBooks Online is easy to use. It is different from the desktop versions, but you will acclimate very quickly to this version. One thing I love how it links up to your bank accounts, pulling your credits & debits in, so you can easily modify, code, and post them to your GL. I also converted a desktop version to the online version and it was so easy to do. Everything came over without a hitch.

Cons

One thing that I didn't like (which may be different now) is that you cannot go back and undo a reconciliation, you instead have to go into the register and clear the transaction. I find that this can be a bit more difficult to do when you have simple issue to fix. Also, keep in mind that QuickBooks does not have the best reports. They can give you basic information that you need, but if you want to re-format it to your liking, there's only so much you can do with this program.

We had difficulty setting up our initial online account and as a result a second account was set up properly with help from customer service. Long story short...we've been charged for 2 accounts for 13 months even though the initial account was never utilized. The best customer service would do for us is 4 months of credit for the initial account. In my opinion it's much easier for a billion dollar company to implement safe guards to prevent double accounts (simply flag accounts w the same tax i.d or bank account etc..) vs. a small business catching a monthly charge over a 13 month period. Best case scenario this seems unethical and worst potententially criminal. Overall, just not good business practices and treatment of a loyal, 20 year customer.

Pros

Online services and accesibility. Convenience and banking interface is very appealing. East of credit card importing.

Cons

Questionable company policies / ethics. If there is a dispute prepare to be on the phone a long time. My experience latest over an hour and a half. Unreasonable comprimises.

Pros

This software is very Friendly and easy to use. It is good for Invoicing, tracking your employees hours and expenses. The Apple apple is very easy to use and you can do pretty much everything from you phone as well.

Cons

I am a 2nd administrator , but for some reason just my accounting and the owner of the company can edit the RECONCILIATION that I did myself. Every time that I need to fix an reconciliation I need to contact my accounting. There is not set up on my profile that allows me to do this. I wish Quickbooks would have more specific permissions setup .

As a CPA I provide client accounting services and only recommend QBO to all of my clients.

Pros

QuickBooks Online is a true accounting software package. Intuit is constantly making improvements and adding features to make this product as good or better than QuickBooks Desktop. There are also multiple versions of the product with different price points so you only need to buy the bells and whistles if it is appropriate for your business. Your data lives in the cloud, so no worries about keeping it backed up, or data corruption of a file on your local server. If you need additional features that are not available in the QuickBooks Online, the software also integrates very seamlessly with a huge number of cloud based 3rd party applications.

Cons

Very poor and can't seem to get any sort of common sense answer to why I can't access my account that I already been paying for as recently as the 10th April 2018 and still they're requesting a payment to access my account and still can't get inot my account without making another payment that I don't owe

Pros

It's good as it connects your bank account and works out what your monthly incoming outgoings are, and was going really smoothly up until recently, I signed up for the 6 month discounted trial and have done 3 months so far, they have taken out the monthly fees fine but can't seem to access my account anymore as a screen coming up keeps saying I have to make another payment before accessing my account even though I have already paid

Cons

customer service is very poor, trying to sort out the billing for using their online accounts and they don't seem to have a clue

Pros

What I like most about QBO is how I can freely customize reports and how I can see real-time who else on the team is logged in while I am working on the books.

Cons

There can sometimes be glitches cause by server lags especially on the banking page. Also, it's not really so intuitive in a sense that it doesn't detect duplicate transactions. You would have to exclude those on your own. Rules also can make or break the books. But these cons aren't really cons per se but rather challenges that can resolved by a professional bookkeeper.

I have used QBO for many years and have found it to be the easiest to operate in, even if you are a novice bookkeeper. Because it is online, you can access it from anywhere with only an internet connection. It is extremely easy for your accountant to go in and make any necessary changed/adjustments without you being down for any length of time. I have not found one client that I have worked with that has any issues using the software or having an issue that is not able to be covered by the software.

This is a very simplified version of QuickBooks Desktop. I use both QuickBooks Pro 2017 and QuickBooks Online and I do not have any issues with either one of them for now. Online subscription for a month which I think is a little high but compared to buying outright for the desktop version, the online version is well worth the price. The best part is being able to access the account anywhere with internet.

Cons

One feature that is quite frustrating for me right now is the vendor part. When I enter a bill, it does not caption duplicate reference number (or the invoice number) There was a time where I paid a vendor twice because I entered a bill and another admin entered the same bill but QuickBooks didn't capture that double bill. Needs to be fixed

As a personal trainer I am often using a lot of miles and expenses for equipment and Quickbooks has all of the categories that I need for correct expense tracking.

Cons

If you purchase your subscription through Apple, it goes through Apple and not Quickbooks. That means if there is any issue where you'd like to cancel your subscription, you have to call both parties to get it cancelled or refunded. Probably the best accounting software on the planet however if you had to choose between the online vs the desktop version--trust me and get the desktop one!

Hope this helps :)

Pros

This is probably the best accounting software I have ever used. Even if you have ZERO accounting experience, you'll be able to navigate the basic features of this software. There's also a massive community that uses QuickBooks so if you have any questions, more likely than not, it has been answered by someone. Honestly, you can't go wrong...

Cons

That said.... if you ask me--SKIP the online version and get the desktop one instead!!! While you will pay a larger portion upfront, the software is yours, and you do not have to put up with annoying monthly billing. Unless what you're doing requires the software to be the latest version (which is usually not the case for the majority of small businesses out there), go right for the desktop one. This is what my CA accountant recommended to me at the time of purchase and a year later I am not regretting a thing.

Pros

It's the industry standard - so people are familiar with it. Several platforms and banks will integrate it with it. The online version makes it easy for others in our organization to have access to the information they need. The reports are as detailed or simple as you want them. I like that you can import transactions (but see comments in the cons section on some of the issues that need to be resolved with import). The help, tutorials, and customer support have been good so far.

Cons

It seems cumbersome at times. One of our main payment platforms does not integrate into Quickbooks which mean a lot of manual entries. Also, with imports, you still have to enter sales receipts or invoices manually if you want to track entries by customer or venter - then you can match your entries with the downloads in your accounts. Very time consuming. No way, as of right now, to import transactions into sales receipts - that would save a lot of time and hassle - or if the deposits window gave you the feature to automatically create a sales receipt when posting deposits/downloaded transactions.

Also, would like if they had a way to archive past fiscal years. Our organization has been using Quickbooks since 2006 and our file is huge with a lot of information we don't need anymore.

Still a fairly new product for QB and they seem to try to be working out the kinks .

I don't like how it only does 90 days of data. If someone accounts every year instead of monthly/quarterly, you have to input everything manually which is a waste of time vs. automation through online.

QuickBooks seemed like a great way for me to track my expenses and income. But it was very confusing

Pros

It was very good at linking to my banking account and sorting all of my expenses and showing me what I was spending and on what types of things which made me very aware of my spending habits and helped change some for the better

Cons

It is very hard to learn. This software is definitely for people who know accounting. As someone who is fresh into personal banking and budgeting it was a very intimidating software to use and learn. It doesn't have a tutorial and so I spent much time reading stuff online and watching videos. QuickBooks just doesn't seem like an easily approachable software

I love the time it saves in entering all the credit card receipts and the budgeting add on that comes with the plus edition!

Cons

I don't like he process you have to go through from banking to the accounting tab. Having to link the bank accounts can be a pain as they don't always work.

Great way to stay on top of your business financials

Pros

The software is Easy to use, the ability to export information to excel is excellent and when there is an issue, the Customer Service team is very helpful

Cons

Reporting is good but not outstanding. There are a number of templates that provide good reporting, but if you are looking for something unique or non standard, there isn't a good Report Generator tool

Pros

The ease with which my team can connect to the API in order to integrate it fully with the applications that we develop.

Cons

The feature set does not match the desktop version. This makes it a tough sell to get our existing clients to move to it.
