The main issue, though, is the reporting and review stages. Since you can't just pull a single, unified GL dump like you can in newer system, we have to extract the data peice by piece. All that manual work to stitch the files together ends up slowing down the compilation process and definitely leaves more room for errors. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 4/5 - Functionality: 3/5 #### Pros Tally is a really solid starting point if you're just learning accounting. Since it's so budget-friendly,it makes a lot of sense for small businesses that don't have massive amount of daily transaction. On top of being affordable, it's just very straightforward to use for logging daily entries, keeping ledgers organized, and pulling basic financial statements. #### Cons The biggest headache is just getting the data out of the system. In other software, you can usually just pull a full GL dump in one go, but here we have to extract everything piece by piece.
