Regular updates
Responsive. I can get help when I need it and get attention to a requested change.
PROSTekMetric offers most everything we need but is responsive to requested improvements and upgrades. With every other software application we have used we are bound by the system architecture to make needed or desired changes. We haven't run into similar limitations with TekMetric. They are always improving and listening.
CONSReporting is good but it could be improved with additional access to information.

Limited security and zero ability to change or improve previous platform.

Simply the BEST!
I have been extremely satisfied with Tekmetric since day one. Data migration from my old software was fast, the learning curve for my staff was painless, and customer support is immediate. My clients appreciate being able to review, approve or decline jobs via text/email and see pictures of inspections and worn parts. Being cloud based has significantly decreased the amount of time spent on the phone with clients and vendors; our phone calls are much more productive and my staff is more efficient. I can manage my shop without physically being at the shop! If I run into a client at the grocery store, I can now intelligently discuss their car's history, explain needed repairs, schedule appointments or order parts. I can review workflow and analyze shop performance from anywhere I happen to be.
PROSMy favorite thing about Tekmetric is their responsiveness to user suggestions. They truly listen to the needs of their clients and quickly adapt to new industry trends.
CONSI wish I had joined Tekmetric sooner. Switching software is always hard. While no software is perfect, Tekmetric has proven to be a solid product for today and the leader of the pack for the future.

Tekmetric was more user-friendly, more robust, and less costly than the other two products I considered.
Reasons for switching to Tekmetric
My old product has no plans to go cloud based and customer support had become frustrating and slow; this was causing inefficiencies for my staff and lost revenue for our company.

Unhappy purchase-company does not actively fix issues
Its tough. there are benefits to the program-so many little things that could be fixed that they simply acknowledge but don't. Their sales people present the "great product out there" in sales-after the sale it gets a little snarky.
PROSSmoother modern style program. Work screen is easy to work with. Authorization on large tickets is nice. Nice clean invoice.
CONSSo many ease of use details that were skipped. This software needed to be beta run for a year or at least be willing to fix issues-not Phone friendly-

TekMetric is well on its way to becoming the industry's best shop management system available.
Everything about TekMetric is gold standard. Their team is diligent in addressing any concerns, issues, bugs or upgrades and always do so in an efficient and kind manner.
CONSThe only complaint I had about Tekmetric has now been resolved and that was their labor time guide. They have since made upgrades and changes and this is no longer an issue for us.

We made the switch because Tekmetric is not a server based system and the whole system is available anywhere, anytime, on virtually any device.

No Regrets - Has been a game changer for our shop.
We went online with the software and never did the training, it is so intuitive we didn't need to. That's huge. Our customers Rave about it, our employees love it too. The customer support is unmatched as well. Any questions or issues are responded to shockingly fast.
PROSThe deeply integrated digital inspections, estimates and digital approvals are the highlight of the software. The ability to text the customer the inspection and any work that needs to be done and have them approve the work from their phones is unmatched in the industry. My customers love it.
CONSThe advantage of this software is that it is new software taking advantage of the latest tools in the industry. The disadvantage of the software is that it is new software and doesn't have some of the bells and whistles some other products have, although they are closing that gap at an amazing pace.
Reason for choosing Tekmetric
Integrated online approval process that pushes the approval right back into the shop management software without any add ons. We have a lot of customers who can't answer the phone for approvals but easily can respond to a text. They LOVE it.

Best shop management system out there.
I have 2 locations and Tekmetric makes it easy for me to monitor from either location.
PROSI have used this software for over a year now. It does so much and is improving on an almost weekly basis.
CONSCan’t really say anything hear. If there’s is something that needs changed or improved they listen and fix it.

Stuck in my ways
Smooth operation from day one
PROSAs a long term user of the other guys ,I am afraid I was reluctant to change. After the initial demo-I was sold. Ease of use and customer support being right there when we need them is fantastic,
CONSOur employee pay structure isnt main stream .. i know others pay similarly. Program did nt allow for that but i understand may be a future update

CONSI don't have any concerns or issues with the software because they are constantly rolling out new updates and features.

Prasanth & Sunil seemed very eager to create the best shop management system. We joined in Tekmetric's younger days (shop #136). Best decision we made.

Tried and Failed
My overall experience with Tekmetric is that I would love to have the program operating in my shop but I found it too hard to implement under current circumstances with the current work force. I was 67 years old and just found it too exhausting so we gave up and went back to our previous system. If I don't get out of the business I make take a future crack at it again. Hopefully I will have better staff to help me if I do and since Tekmetric is constantly tweaking the product it may be easier to implement then.
PROSWhat I like most about the sofware is the ability to implement detail inspections with video inspections. The software has a lot of great features and seems to be cutting edge and constantly undergo improvement. It seems to be the number one software that shops are mirgrating to.
CONSWhat I liked least was it was difficult to learn and didn't seem intuitive enough. The period of time that we had to do tutorials and learn the system was not long enough for me. The other item is the labor guide employed by Tekmetric. There are a lot of comments that the labor time is too low on many jobs. You don't like having to bounce around and verify labor times.

Tekmetric seems to have the majority of shops adopting it and indicating that it is greatly improving the efficiency of their operations.
Reasons for switching to Tekmetric
We made the switch due to inspection features in Tekmetric and also less key strokes to access vendor pricing. We went back just because we were having too much difficulty learnin the program especially closing out tickets.

I hate to hear that you had a hard time in the transition and want to you know that it is our number one goal to make sure all of our shops are comfortable with Tekmetric so we do offer a variety of training options including the training hub videos, live webinars, one -on-one training, and onsite training. We offer these tools because we know how hard it can be to make a software switch, especially if you have been using your legacy software for several years. As you said, we are constantly updating Tekmetric and the Labor Guide is one of those items that we are consistently updating. If you do make the decision to come back to Tekmetric please do not hesitate to utilize the various training rules and ask for some additional hand holding because we are willing to accommodate your shop!

TekMetric for the win!
Our experience with TekMetric just keeps getting better.
PROSTekMetric has been a huge benefit to our business. The ease of use is outstanding, and they’re constantly upgrading the system according to what the users request. The TM team is second to none.
CONSThere’s not much I don’t like. I do wish some of the upgrades could come faster, but I know quality takes time.

Great Sales Tool
The people at Tekmetric are great. They are quick to assist you. The software is very good. I like this product.
PROSTekmetric is a great sales tool. It gives accurate sales reporting. It is fairly easy to use and looks great on the screen.
CONSSince I am the one who deals with the accounting, I can say that there are a few things that could be improved. Tekmetric uses a company called Back Office to integrate with Quick Books. This company has an all or nothing approach to stock items, so there is more to do to have tickets flow into the right categories. It is very easy to change things in the Back Office before integrating, so it is just a matter of a few extra steps. Tekmetric is a sales tool and not an accounting program. We came from a company that did both, but not accurately.

TCS is a terrible software company. They would send minor issues to upper level support and it could take 6months to a year or more to hear back from them. The accounting was not accurate and produced many duplicate tickets and receivers on a whim. You never knew what would happen with that software.

Innovative and Energetic Company Striving to Change Industry Standards
Tekmetric’s SMS is the best bang for your buck and is only getting better as each day passes. Their customer support is amazing to get to know as well! Friendly and passionate about what they do and who the do it for.
PROSThe team at Tekmetric is so very busy making changes for the better with their program daily! I like the fact that they ask for feedback good or bad and are willing to accept and consider the consumers answers. Integrations with other platforms are making our jobs as shop owners/operators easier with building estimates, searching for parts, contacting the customer as well as taking payments. I’m sure there’s more to come, and I’m in for the long haul!
CONSI honestly haven’t found anything I do not like about the Tekmetric system or team.

Best POS system I've used!
I've been using this system since Oct of 2019, could be happier. We came from RO writer and this is a whole new world compared to that. Everything from estimates to making appointments its easy. I was surprised how quickly it was to learn this system.
PROSThe easy of it, I have used some of the black and white POS systems, you literally feel like you're on windows 98' (RO writer) with tekmectric this is not the case.
CONSThe only thing is dont like is when you send an estimate to a customer it doesnt add shop supplies.
Reasons for switching to Tekmetric
The company wanted to get out of the stone age is my guess but whatever reason it was I'm happy they did switch.
