Voip.ms is a feature-rich, inexpensive VOIP solution
I've saved myself, my clients, friends, and family dozens of dollars a month and hundreds of dollars a year by switching them to voip.ms over traditional telephone service. In the case of small businesses, at less than $200 capital cost and $10 per month, we've been able to provide full-featured auto attendant answering with custom recordings for hours of operation, routing to phones in various departments based on customer's responses, call hunting for managers/owners to their IP desk phone and then their mobile phone, blocking of unwanted numbers, voicemail forwarding to e-mail, and other future capabilities.
PROSLike me, you'll be amazed at the range of features you get for the vastly reduced price when comparing the service to that of a traditional telephone service. Once you learn the admin interface of voip.ms, you'll find it simple to set up an auto attendant for routing calls within your business. You'll love the ability to forward a voice mail message to your e-mail address, with the message attached as an mp3 file. Many more options for call routing are offered, such as hunting.
CONSWhile the admin interface is not cluttered or broken up into multiple sites, the intuitive visual flow could be improved. It took me 5-6 times of using it to remember where to drill down for a voicemail setting or configuration of an account for a secondary ATA or IP phone.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms
Now that homes and businesses have more than adequate Internet service provided by the traditional telephone service companies like TELUS, there's no need to be paying for telephone service at $30-$40 per line/DID per month on top of the Internet charge. With the cost of just one ATA (Analog Terminal Adapter) at $40-$100, one can switch over to voip.ms thereby dropping the monthly telephone bill to less than a few bucks.

Bad Customer Service Experience with VOIP.MS
We have been using VOIP.MS for over 5 years. The last 12 months were the most terrible: service was intermittent, customers complained about missed calls, delays when connecting calls, text messaging forwarding to mobile devices was not working correctly. All of this was peaches comparing to the last two weeks when we decided to cancel. Contacted via email to cancel the account and remove all VOIP numbers since we won't be porting; they replied that I need to remove the numbers myself (a few hundred numbers) while I am still being charged for the renewal VOIP numbers. I insisted that they could remove them themselves; they said that I needed to put more funds into the account before they could do it. The bill went in negative because we had a few dollars only when we asked to cancel the account. We put the fund on the budget, but it has been two weeks, and nobody ever got back to us. Contact support again. They said that our ticket was closed. If your options or budget to go with another provider, you may consider other options. VOIP.MS is cheap, and you get what you pay for.
PROSCheap rates, a large number of Canadian numbers available
CONSComplicated or outdated UI, zero help from customer support, intermittent service, delays before connecting calls
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
Price

Customizable experience for your users, if you have a little know-how.
I would say VoIP.ms is the perfect service for a somewhat-experienced consultant or employee to deploy a customized VoIP solution for their customer/company.
PROSVoIP.ms gives you power tools and "just enough" customizable features to deploy unique solutions for your customers, but you don't have to learn the guts of Asterisk or another overly complicated phone system.
CONSThere is not a ton of polish in the admin UI, so it can be confusing sometimes.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms
Twilio is expensive if you are not using the advanced features such as AI or drawing call flows.

Best VOIP In Town
Outside of the DDOS attack it has been the best service around. I have tried many others and they are either more expensive or very difficult to setup properly with our PBX system.
PROSI have looked over all the VOIP providers and checked price. They are the lowest and easiest to setup.
CONSThe only thing I didn't like was when they had the DDOS attack and my phone lines were down and we did not have any alternative.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms

The SIP trunking provides great rate, great wiki documentation to setup everything, no restrictions such as verified caller IDs on outbound (making it useful to forward calls to another phone and preserve caller id)

Low cost and very performant solution
It was easy to integrate older and new devices into the system with no real issues or support.
PROSOne of the best features of VoIP.ms are the well documented and explanatory Wiki pages allowing to start from scratch new projects with very little support.
CONSWhen navigating the website, it seems that you need to re-enter your user credentials quite often. May be this is needed for security issues to protect hacking.

Overall excellent experience. We started with Voip.ms when I needed to redirect calls to multiple devices when an employee was off. The local phone company could not offer this service.
PROSThat incoming calls can ring on multiple devices simultaneously
CONSInitially because of our location in a non-mainstream country Voip would not accept card of PayPal prepayment from me, only direct bank deposit, but this has now been resolved.

If you're IT inclined, voip.ms is the best there is!
Al l in all, it's packed with features ranging from group-ring (having multiple phones ring at the same time) to full Virtual Receptionist (on-hold music included!). It supports soft-phones (I use jitsi), IP phones (I have Cisco phones), Cell phones, Landlines (you can add "standard" phone numbers to ring-groups for instance), and PBX (I do not use this feature, but it's there). They offer support but I do no recall using it. The system just works. Documentation is clear and precise (they offer guides to configure pretty much everything you can think of).
PROSNot only did it fit my needs about 10 years ago when I began using the service, but they keep improving it, adding features months after months. I just started using the call recording feature this month! IVR works like a charm; managing recordings is straight forward as well.
CONSIt can be intimidating to setup at first. I personally don't mind, but I wouldn't recommend it to the average grand-mother.
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
Price first. It was about 1/20 of the alternative I used. Features got me totally hooked!
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms

Solid, reliable service ... great value
Extremely satisfied; have already recommended the service to several others in my industry.
PROSInteractive voice response menus, call routing and blasting, ability to specify "allowed" and "not allowed" countries to prevent fraud
CONSThis service is more do-it-yourself than others of its type, but I suspect its users are seasoned corporate customers. Also, good quality tech support is always available via chat and email. So this has not been a problem.
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
More expansive feature set and configurational flexibility at a better price.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms
Despite being more expensive, Nextiva did not offer the feature set and flexibility that VOIp.ms does.

I Recommend VOIP.MS many times a week
I changed from a different provider because of cost. It soon became obvious that I had also been missing many features which have enhanced my usage of the system. I manage websites and sell website hosting for customers and have encouraged them all to consider Voip.MS. Many now have either local or toll-free numbers with the service. Even though toll-free numbers are not required these days, they tend to show a company in a better light and look more professional. Oftentimes these toll-free numbers are chosen to spell the website, company name or function. Recent examples they used were 1-8xx-KONA-FARM for a farm which gives farm tours. I have need to open a couple of tickets and their response was quick and accurate.
PROSVoip.MS has many free features which telephone companies charge for. The software is easy to configure and fairly intuitive. The usefulness and cost savings are one of the largest drawing point.
CONSThere are only a couple of issues I have had. One is the ability to internally call a ring group, and their time conditions are not based upon my own time zone. These are very minor issues and not deal breakers for me and I have opened Feature Requests for them.
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
Callcentric had some options which Voip.MS didn't such as some free inbound numbers in New York and a free fax service. This allowed me to receive free faxes on a DID number. The free DIDs eventually went away. About that time, Voip.MS added a fax service.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms
The 808 company was purchased by the local landline company so they (my opinion) could shut down the competition and offer their own more expensive service. I also started using FreePBX and IncrediblePBX which run on unis servers. I was using a Raspberry Pi ($35) and although it worked for me, I tired of trying to keep things running. I opted for an Internet service which would do that for me.

Very Good service
been with them over 10 years, and its been overall pretty good- it is glitchy at times and a bit more hands on than say Twilio- where I have not had any issues with connectivity.
PROSEasy to set up IVREasy to buy DiDsGood pricing on new Dids and month to month feesHappy with them but I do have pretty low volume calls with them and the numbers I have with them are not "mission critical" -support can be outstanding to sub marginal, depending on who you get. -have made many improvements over the last year-pricing where voip should be for a small business. -has TLS encryption where most voip providers don't
CONS-texting (SMS/MMS) could be better setup and out of beta, as it is 2023 already, come on guys really. -they should really have a app they made that can manage and that users can call and text with. -slow to roll out improvements-could have better higher quality codecs-could have STUN servers to use. -a multi week DoS that they handled very badly couple yrs ago-still not 100% about the back-end of the company- would not use for a business doing over a $1m in -revenue a yr unless you had a backup provider. -not innovative like Twilio, you are not going to find any integration with AWS and polly or advanced things like this.
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
easy to implement and get Canadian DiD's.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms
callcentric was down and they were unreliable.

VOIP.MS Pros and Cons
Overall satisfied, but improvements needed such as being able to pay in CDN funds.
PROSI like that it is self-administered with Pay-as-you-go feature. I also like that voicemail messages are emailed as an attachment.
CONSThere should be option to pay bill in CDN funds rather than just in USD funds to avoid paying unnecessary foreign exchange fees and poor rates on currency fluctuations. Also, there should be an option to pay exact amount desired rather than just in increments (i.e. $5, $10, $100, etc). If a customer wants to pay say $22.43 exactly because say he/she has a credit balance on his/her credit card for that amount and he/she wants to deplete those exact funds, he/she should be allowed to do so. That is also why being allowed to pay specifically in CDN funds is so critical.
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
Was recommended by Voice Network.
Reasons for switching to VoIP.ms
They were exiting the business.

Great value business and home phone VoIP system
Tech support is quick to respond, overall very satisfied with support. Number porting goes quickly and with out issue typically. I would love to see an app for this service, haven't tried 3rd party VoIP phone apps with it yet but I think it has great potential as an enterprise system with the ability to compete with Nextiva, RingCentral, etc. if it just had a pre-packaged app to offer.
PROSExtremely low cost, only about 5% of the cost of many competitors. Reliable enough for Fire/Alarm systems and daily use for the entire company! Configurations have a bit of a learning curve, but much of the documentation has been updated recently which helps. Offers many features only found on much more expensive systems such as SMS, Call Recording, etc. but many are in beta. Ring Groups, e911, voicemail to email are all working great and well established. Low cost reliable phone system for your business!
CONSOccasionally issues with Polycom VVX series going offline, or needing to switch servers. May be related to a configuration issue/template, as I don't have this issue with any other hardware. Grandstream devices seems to be the most reliable, the best just FYI for whomever reads this.
Reason for choosing VoIP.ms
Cost, and general feature set is quite good. Definitely not as convenient from an admin perspective as many devices require manual configuration and remote provisioning. But for a small company it's still practical to manage and can't beat the price to features/support offered!

CONSPrefer not to require a fax number to send a fax via the web portal. I liked this feature more when it didn't require a monthly cost for a fax number. Would love to be able to block a number by simply dialing a star code after the call is received and then be able to further manage those blocks via the web panel. Would love to have voicemail transcription to email if not already available. Maybe make VOIP.ms branded hardware available, as well as a soft phone app.

Easy to configure, administer and use; also very low cost for so many great features
I used to run a home brew phone system that I configured using ATAs, UNIX servers, and assorted POTS phones. Now with voip.ms I leave 95% up to them and it all just works. I have extended the functionality to include my own DB-driven anti-telemarketer blocking system by adding in my own custom configured Asterisk instance running under FreeBSD and it was pretty easy to configure a SIP trunk in voip.ms to accommodate this.
PROSVoip.ms has provided me with a way to operate a complete SOHO phone system in my home without the headaches of maintaining a full PBX there too. I connect multi-line VoIP phones over WiFi for the ultimate flexibility. I have access to large enterprise features for pennies, and I can integrate my own specialized features by attaching an Asterisk PBX running at home on a mini-PC.
CONSThere's very little I can find fault with. I've been having intermittent issues with BLFs on the VoIP phones but this could be almost anyone's fault, possibly the VoIP phones themselves. Voip.ms support has done their best to assist me in debugging the problems as they pop up now and then. But really BLFs are not super critical anyway, just a nice-to-have, so I'm not concerned.

Great voip provider with even better service!
Honestly I love everything about using VoIP.ms from the platform to the product to the support. They are always there to provide support if you need it, although I rarely need it because the platform is really great and stable.
PROSI love the fact that they are really easy to setup and use. I use it more for personal use and absolutely love how I can stay in touch with my family for a fraction of the price. Ive set it up for many family members and even provided them with simple instructions and they were able to set it up for themselves without issues.
CONSI wish that instead of having multiple servers in the same location they had 1 customer facing server and they had multiple servers behind the scenes. That would make life easier in case there is an issue with one of the servers. Would also love if they had an iOS App that would be amazing and make life easier when making calls.
