Pros:

Well, the Synology connection was very easy comparing to other software. What I found great was the simple search. And automatic reading of documents. I don't have to learn each document for a long time, paperOffice does what it can - reads the necessary information without my help and stores it as separate property fields.A huuge plus point is of course the price - you will never find any other software for that price and with those features

Cons:

Honestly, I found it stupid at first that the software wasn't easy to find. Reading a review on the Synology forums that the people and the software are top notch got me trying them out, which was free. Support and other video tutorials, we also made the setup easier, everything was self-explanatory. Otherwise, there was nothing I can complain about.

Try each and every product out and you know why. All other are so complicated. I guess they get too big too fast

Price, all very complicated and hard to manage. You are referred to a partner who sometimes wants to work, sometimes not. You pay for everything, whether he wanted to or not. I was fed up and came to PaperOffice and was very satisfied

The product itself is great (love the AI-powered sticky notes feature!), but the support team is the real MVP. When our import from legacy software failed, they built us a custom script in 24 hours.

Cons:

There is nothing that I can say that I like the least about Paperoffice. They are a group of highly trained professionals.

Absolut keine Empfehlung, nur Probleme. Support ist nicht vorhanden trotz PLUS LIzenz

Support ist keiner zu bekommen. Bei mir war auf einmal die Lizenz verschwunden und nur noch eine FREE LIzenz aktiviert. Das Benutzerkonto ist auch gesperrt somit kann ich keinen Support mehr buchen. Telefonisch ist kein durchkommen und wenn ich ein Ticket anlege wird das einfach gelöscht oder ich komme mit meinem Benutzer nicht mehr ins Ticketsystem. Alles sehr dubios von Anfang an. Für Paperoffice PLUS habe ich bis heute trotz mehrfacher Anfrage keine Rechnung erhalten. Insgesamt hat mich das 324,50€ für die Team Lizenz und 401,51€ für die PLUS Lizenz gekostet plus einiges an Zeit und Nerven. Ich kann nur jedem von Paperoffice abraten denn das alles ist nicht besonders professionell und seriös.

Im Prinzip habe ich mich für Paperoffice entschieden da meine Daten auf meinem NAS speichern möchte. Das alles funktioniert auch. Das Programm macht auch was es soll (mit Einschränkungen)

Cons:

Paperoffice braucht eine Internetverbindung (anscheinend nur zum prüfen der Lizenz) was ich aber so nicht bestätigen kann. Einige versprochene Features wie z.B. direkt aus dem E-Mailprogramm heraus die E-Mails zu archivieren gehen nicht. Hier kommen vom Support die Antwort "Das liegt an Microsoft". Aber am meisten stört mich wie mit Kunden umgegangen wird (Siehe unten)

Schade, im Prinzip doch nur eine Cloudlösung...

Das programm selbst finde ich sehr gut und einfach und es machte genau das was ich gesucht habe aber die ständige Nichterreichbarkeit der Paperoffice Aktivierungsserver sowie das ganze Backup und Wiederherstellungsverfahren bei Wechsel einer NAS machen das ganze in der Praxis leider unbrauchbar. Ich suche jetzt nach einer anderen Lösung. Support bei Ausfall der Server nicht erreichbar und es gibt auch keine Informationen über Ausfälle und Wartungsarbeiten.

Ansich eine gute Lösung um Dokumente zu verwalten. Lokaler Datenbestand (Auch auf NAS) grundsätzlich vorteilhaft und war bei mir kaufentscheidend.

Cons:

Leider kein Start der Software möglich wenn die Paperoffice-Server wieder mal down sind. Das ist im letzten Monat bereits zwei mal passiert. Ich habe mir extra KEINE Cloudlösung gekauft sondern wollte eine lokale Datenbank haben, durch die ständigen Ausfälle ist diese Lösung nicht professionell nutzbar. Auch aus Administratorsicht ist der Transfer einer MariaDB auf einem Synology NAS eine Katastrophe. Es ist nicht möglich, aus der Software selbst ein Backup wieder in eine MariaDB herzustelloen. Das geht nur über Umwege mittels der synologyeigenen HyperBackup Lösung und auch nur dann, wenn dort als Backupziel ein angesteckter USB-Stick oder USB-Festplatte benutzt wird. Ein Backup in einen Ordner mit anschließendem Wiedereinspielen des Hyperbackups auf eine neue NAS ist nicht möglich, da in dem Sicherungsauftrag die dann neue Festplatte/ <Volume natürlich anders ist, als in der alten NAS und somit nicht gefunden wird. Ein automatisiertes Backup auf einen USB-Stick ist natürlich auf Dauer Quatsch.

Vorsicht vor PaperOffice

Leider wird in den entsprechenden Ankündigungen und Videos zu vieles angekündigt und vedrsprochen, was dann in der Praxis so nicht funktioniert oder schlecht umgesetzt ist. Beim Support wird man sehr freundlich bedient, vernimmt dann aber sehr schnell, ja dies können wir jetzt noch nicht und weitere Ausreden kann man sich anhören. => dieses Tool würde ich nicht empfehlen.

Ist relativ einfach zu bedienen und man hat schnell die grundsätzliche Bedienung intus. Auch die Installation war schnell gemacht (ist bei anderen nicht immer so).

Cons:

die Erkennungsrate von definierten Feldern/Variablen ist sehr schlecht / die Übertragung von Regex in die Felder (Zahlen) ist unbrauchbar (zwei bis acht Kommastellenfehler, nicht reproduzierbar). So kann man die Automation leider nicht oder nur schlecht gebrauchen. Denn ich will ja nicht bei jedem Dokument noch nacharbeiten (dann kann ich dies direkt von Hand machen).
