Craft Is THE BEST Way to Build Complex, Custom Websites
I just built a massive website with Craft and it was a pure joy to work with.
PROSI love everything about Craft. It is easy to setup, easy to structure data, author templates, and shape content the way you want. It is powerful, secure, and backed by a helpful team and robust community. I can't recommend a website building tool more highly than Craft. I've used many and it is simply the best.
CONSLike any CMS, Craft requires you to learn new techniques and tools that can feel foreign at first. This isn't unique among website building software so you have to be patient and give it time.
Reason for choosing Craft
Craft was able to out-perform other competitive products in the space for our site with thousands of section entries.
Reasons for switching to Craft
Statamic stumbled on the thousands of entries we were porting in to the new site. Moving to Craft allowed us to handle these large sections gracefully from the admin panel.

Robust enough for Power Users, Easy for Beginners
Overall, our organization has been very pleased using the Craft CMS tool to power several different websites. It is robust enough that our developers/agency and easily create new modules and accommodate our requests, but easy enough that several entry-level administrators can update the content of the site and make simple changes.
PROSThe administrative tools used to change website content, add modules, and update pages are very user-friendly and it takes little training for a new administrator to learn. I also especially appreciate the Preview Feature which allows you to see your web page but then real-time edit it using the side panels.
CONSThe search function for finding certain pages could be a little more robust. As it stands, it searches within certain types of pages (like entries, single pages, unpublished pages, etc.) but I wish there was a way to search from all categories at once and to be able to search content on the page, not just the title.
Reasons for switching to Craft
We made the switch to Craft when we brought a new agency on board who was more versed in Craft and could show us the easier user interface.

Flexible Solution for Complex Needs
Our experience was excellent. We were able to build out a custom platform to house all of our data and benefit from the CMS features inherent to Craft.
PROSWe needed to build out an event management platform to suit our custom needs and were able to use Craft for a variety of functionality and it met nearly all of our needs.
CONSWe had to build out a custom admin layer as the current admin layer was not customizable. Member management could also be improved, there are some kinks in permissions and viewing members that don't always make sense.
Reasons for switching to Craft
Expression Engine did not have the power or features to support our needs

A CMS That Grows On You
Overall, I believe Craft will always be on my short list for content management systems to consider for new projects. Given the ethos with which it was developed (as a purely vanilla CMS) it can be a little quirky for those that come from WP, Drupal or a proprietary platform. But if you can work with a development team that prefers Craft over other platforms, it makes for a great CMS.
PROSCraft is a CMS that feels a little odd at first, but after you reorient yourself it is really easy to navigate. The user interface is clean and everything loads really quickly. And based on what I hear from our developer team, the platform is extremely customizable.
CONSIf you come to Craft from a Wordpress background, you will miss some of the functionality that Craft does not yet offer. In particular I miss bulk editing of posts, as well as the simplicity of just dealing with pages and posts. Craft can be set up in a much more complex way and that obviously makes the user experience more compex.
