Widen Collective is a cloud-based brand and digital asset management solution designed for mid-size and large businesses. It offers features like content creation, distribution and analytics within a suite. It also offers document storage using Amazon Web Services.

Widen Collective offers a centralized repository for storing all images and brand logos that can be referred to by users creating branded sales and marketing collateral. The product also features a portal where users can upload and share brand assets with colleagues based on their departments and roles.

With the help of asset-level analytics, users gain a complete view of the usage of brand assets across the company and are able to measure the performance of their content on their website. The asset lifecycle management module enables administrators to manage asset versions, approval process and document expiry dates.

Widen Collective is available on an annual subscription basis that includes support via email and phone.

Hundreds of very helpful features; enhanced well over the years with great advancement in marketing

Pros

Widen Collective is being used greatly by many individuals in similar roles in our company due to its many features that allow each of us to achieve our tasks with ease. I use this product for the sake of its archiving purposes, project and workflow management accessibility. The possibility to manage minor tasks, access controls and track employee milestones are important jobs I have to do which is made easy by Widen Collective.

Cons

Widen Collective is a broad software with multiple available features, with this is the difficulty to maneuver around this program at a first glance. It may take a few tutoring sessions and practice to be able to perform tasks with this software, especially if you are not that inclined with technology.

I have used Widen in a prior role and have done testing to make a switch - love it and wish we could

It is more user friendly than our current platform, and the sales team has been very generous with their time and insight

Pros

Easy to use. Great support even in the vetting process to make a switch. Reporting and support are far superior to any other DAM platform I have used.

Cons

Unfortunately their templates process is not comparable to what we currently use, and therefore we cannot make a switch to this platform

Perfect tool for managing documents and other resources for easy distribution.

Pros

Widen easily organizes all documents, videos, and other files in an easy to use online tool. Makes disseminating material easy.

Cons

The layout and user interface are less than desirable. This is one area of weakness that could drastically improve the customer experience.

Awesome Digital Asset Management tool I have ever used.

This tool have some good features that saves the time. It allowed our organization to manage the digital assets in effective manner.

Pros

Amazing customer service. Users can be added very easily. Uploading an asset is simple. We can find the newly added assets easily.

It's easy to use and great for organizing, tagging, and retrieving your digital assets. It's also very scalable, which is nice.

Cons

It stores assets on the cloud, which sometimes makes me a little uncomfortable, but they assure us that it's secure, and we haven't had any problems with that.

Fantastic, Love it!!

Pros

Customer Support, website functionality, ease of uploading new assets and then finding them later, user control, sharing capabilities including the file type selection. Love the zoom feature!

Cons

Honestly, it's not with Widen itself. My biggest complaint is with my own team because I keep having to reset people's passwords for the site because they forget them. Luckily, it's really easy to do in the Admin functions!

I am a digital asset manager for my company, which uses Widen.

Many time-saving features in asset searching and sharing both within my organization and externally with customers.

Pros

What I like most about Widen is that they are very open to receiving feedback and improving the software based off of user comments. They host annual events to bring other clients together to share ideas and knowledge of how their users work in the software. All of the Widen staff is available for comments.

Cons

What I like least about Widen is that all of the connectors and API's that help integrate our DAM into other business platforms, such as Salesforce, Sharepoint, CreativeCloud come with an additional annual fee.

I am on communications forthis company, I produce a lot of media assets, and this tool stores them.

Pros

It can accommodate a lot of media assets and organized them in a way that is manageable. It is fairly user-friendly.

Cons

Many different departments within our company will need access to this software, and that may require some training, because I don't know if the tool is intuitive enough to just turn them loose on it.

I am a DAM administrator. So far there has been a slight, but easy learning curve.

The ability to upload various type of meta-data and manage user rights.

Pros

I like how there is a web-based app and the meta-data function, plus the ability to manage the image rights.

Cons

My manager does not like how a search for "hospital" results in our images of hospitals as well as hospitality. My manager would like the search function to be smarter like Google's, so it knows we would like to only see hospital-related images.

Easy to use, puts all our assets at our fingertips.

Lots of time saved. Ease of access to our creative assets and digital libraries, giving a visual catalog of content to review.

Pros

Easy to access assets and distribute them to teams, or have employees grab their own assets to save our Creative department valuable time. They're constantly improving their features and adding new ones, and are responsive to user feedback.

Cons

Integration with marketing automation costs extra. It'd like to see more of that supported in the future, and included in the base price.

Widen Collective is the best DAM tool we have used.

Pros

The user interface is so simply we can add new users quickly and easily and they can find assets with a minimal amount of training.

Cons

Some of the role permissions arent explained ver well. There were a few settings we needed to have turned on in order for users to be able to use the system effectively.

Widen helped us to organize the thousands of assets we used to house all over our network folders.

Company-wide self service, insight analytics, and quicker webpage loads.

Pros

The tag and search functionality. We no longer have the chief marketing officer instant-messaging our team to find awards, accolades, images, and illustrations. Other departments can self-serve as their needs dictate, and we can track usage of key assets with Insights.

Cons

The Insites analytics are not intuitive to use. I would like deep practice, usability, and best practice webinars and or forums to better understand the power this feature.

Our usage of the collective is not intense. We only use it for upload and download of images.

Pros

Easy to use. Nothing complicated about it. Every one in my department that has to use it, even if they are not computer savvy are able to use it without any issues.

Cons

Maybe images should have an expiration date of 2 years. Once the expiration date came the images would be gone. This way we would not have 10 of the same image that only 1 or 2 are used.

Widen's DAM system is intuitive for our users and has made sharing assets effortless

Pros

It is very easy for me to onboard people, I don't really have to do much training since the program is so intuitive. I am able to permission out who sees what. Widen's customer service is also second to none with any software company I've ever worked with.

Cons

There are a few minor things, but nothing major that would make me start looking into other solutions. One example being that I wish we could organize global collections better

Most of my day was spent searching for assets and usage rights with our old software. I love that Widen has empowered users to be self sufficient.

Pros

The DAM is user friendly, customizable, adaptable. I love each user can create their own "experiences" by sorting, thumbnail sizes, etc,

Cons

Some of the administration tools can be hard to navigate, and it is not always intuitive on where to access or make changes if you aren't in there often.
