PROCORE Is Getting Better

Ease-of-use

Pros

The GUI is simple and easy to navigate. The features represent those most often utilized by a CM team.

Cons

The system can be a bit laggy at times, especially mid-week. There have been several instances where it has taken a Client 60 + minutes to receive a Transmittal and/or Submittal.

Pros

Procore is very user friendly. It is intuitive and the mobile apps are extremely useful. It really felt like I was able to hit the ground running with it.

Cons

Not to many cons but perhaps more ability to customize submittal or RFI transmittals. I don't like the way the the PDF files are named when they are generated. It is a very long title.

Pros

Great tool for collaboration with field workers. RFI's are a simple. The submittal process is excellent, and specs and plans are easy to manage.

Cons

Change events could use some work to make it easier and less complicated. It would be nice if contracts and customer change orders would sync with sage so no double entry is required.

Procore has made getting information to and from the jobsite markedly smoother. This in turn makes for more efficiency between the office and the jobsite. More efficiency means more profit!

Pros

The ability to have up to date drawings, submittals and RFI's in the field is a great advantage that keeps the personnel in the field and not back at a job trailer.

Cons

There could be some more functions available on the mobile platform on the project management level.

Data is flowing faster and is more secure

Pros

Ease of use and connectivity. The paperless environment requires a secure data base that can be easily accessed and edited by all team mebers.

Cons

sporadic connectivity issues have created a few hiccups while onsite. Inexperienced team members need to know conventional naming protocols. This should be automated by the software.

I always like to recommend people to use this for document control. So many options to use.

Pros

Easy to use. So many options to navigate. Always updating for improvements. The document option is a plus. Any sub/general contractor can share large files through Procore easily.

Cons

Cons always diminish due to improving updates. For now the software could provide more filtering options to process reports more easily. (example: submittal with attachment, or marking critical RFI or submittals)

The Procore Support Staff folks are ROCK STARS! In ALL areas, the help is amazing.

Pros

I think the field products are beyond compare. The ability for our field staff to pull up subcontractor information, plans and specs is crucial to the overall production.

Cons

We still struggle some with the ERP to Sage. If I had any advice, it would be to establish Procore in the field first (especially on projects in progress) and add the Change Management slowly, maybe one or two jobs until you have a good grasp of how Procore and your Accounting system interface.

This was a helpful tool for managing RFIs & viewing plans & project documents.

Pros

The biggest differences between this & BIM 360: Ability to break plans into sections (Arch, Mech, Struct, etc.) and the RFI / email functionality is pretty great - you create an RFI & assign relevant team members. They get an email, and when they respond to the email, it becomes part of the RFI record. They can even upload/download all attachments!

Cons

The automatic download to the iPad is nice but a double-edged sword. It will fill up a 16GB iPad extremely quickly.

There has been nothing but positives when looking at the investment we made and the returns we have experienced. We are finding that we have cut down the submittal process by almost 2 weeks throughout the typical 6 weeks process due to being able to streamline the information for approval.
We have seen a substantial difference in logistic mistakes as superintendents are now being advised when purchase orders are issued and able to track the return of an executed copy. When they find there is nothing in the system this is triggering them to make calls and track down the status of delivery.

Pros

I am a project administrator that utilizes Procore for all aspects of the projects I am a part of. We find that it is super beneficial for our commitments, RFIs and submittals, as well as scheduling and document processing. It helps streamline the documentation process as well as getting information to other parties quickly. This system also has been wonderful for generating historical data about our project which can be very hard to collect with as many people as there are typically involved in the construction process. All departments of our company use Procore in some fashion, our superintendents utilize the punch list feature, as well as the drawings tools, daily logs, and manpower logs. We have office personnel that also use it to track commitments and purchase orders as well as documents that are passed between owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Cons

The bidding tools are not yet where they need to be but we have seen major improvement over the course of the last 6 months. We know eventually they will be as easy and efficient to use as many of the other features their software offers.
