Pros

Effective at streamlining communications and have a detailed record of all for future use, does a great job of tracking changes to drawings and plans, makes bidding project simple, great way to interface office staff with field staff.

Cons

A lot of functionality which can be overwhelming, our company started using it three years ago and we are still integrating more of the features into our standard practices. It does have a learning curve that was at times difficult for our staff that wasn't quite as tech savvy, but over time they have picked it up.

Customer Support

Procore has been an excellent addition to our company system, and has helped streamline our site management system and communication with both consultant/designer teams and our subtrades.

Pros

Tools and interfaces that cover all aspects of project supervision and management, unparalleled customer support, RFI communication and response tracking, Submittal and shop drawing communication and tracking, change order communication and tracking, and budget/contract interfaces that integrate throughout the platform.

Cons

Steep learning curve for new users (off set by amazing customer support), and some unnecessary inconsistencies in data entry methods from tool to tool that can become tedious.

Great Construction Software for a GC

Ease-of-use

Value for Money

Pros

Procore easily lets the contractor and subcontractor work together within one system. RFIs, Change Orders, Drawing Submittals, and much more can all be done within the same area in minutes.

Cons

This software is really geared towards a general contractor. I work for a subcontractor and while it seemed like this was going to be a great fit for us, we felt that we were paying for more software than we were actually using.

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Value for Money

Pros

I like that you have access to documents and information all in one "hub". Everything is easily accessible from the Procore app or website. This allows for quicker responses in the field and allows for smoother interaction between subs and GC throughout the project.

Cons

The only down side to using Procore that I have found is that if you are having technical issues then everything is online and unless drawings have been previously downloaded it can be frustrating to access the items that you are looking for.

Pros

The ability to find everything you need for a project in one place. The scheduling tool along with the dashboard helps us identify issues as they arise.

Value for Money

I highly recommend Procore. The product is excellent but the best part is the customer service we receive on an ongoing basis. Our account representative schedules meetings on a regular basis to help us find the best ways to use their product. This is addition to the training tools already available. These have been invaluable when bringing on new engineers and foreman.

Pros

Procore allows users access to all of the project information instantly. It is easily accessible from mobile devices which has let us put project data into the hands of the foreman immediately.

Cons

It is difficult to share information when both users are using the Procore Platform. This results in duplicate uploads.

Good Project Management Software

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Value for Money

Pros

Nice features for drawings, submittal/ RFI tracking. A focus on efficiency is clear i.e.; emailing data directly to issues (as if it's just another person on your contact list), distribution lists, drawing updating and distribution. The company is obviously working to perfect their software and improve their capabilities.
Also, the ability to get everyone involved in your project and the information they need just through an invite and for free, well it's something that's almost priceless.

The company is active and rolling out updates, building and keeping the community active, and always seeking feedback which is always good to see.

Cons

There is a lot of detail in the emails that participants receive that either needs to be condensed or their are some tiered options for how much information you receive. At this point I'd still argue that if your company had a decent software for project management before, the improvement you see in efficiency may not cover the cost of the software. If your coming from only utilizing email and excel spreadsheets there is no argument that you'll see much increased efficiency and an immediate ROI, but coming from another established project management software you'll want to really dig into some of the unique features.

Out of the box this software is the most comprehensive construction project management software that I've seen. The number of different tools that they've developed a really good process for is quite impressive. The RFI, submittal, and transmittal functions all work in a manner that is intuitive to anyone who's ever worked in the construction industry.

Cons

I believe some of their process are a bit too rigid they have continual upgrades based on user input but the software has gotten so comprehensive that I feel the quality in the advancement of the new features is getting less and less.

Procore Training path is well defined for each role within the construction project.

Cons

It can be complicated sometimes and can take some time to learn about all the features. E-mail notifications can overwhelm the pace of first response to tasks assigned to project team members.
