UDA ConstructionOnline software


UDA Technologies’ ConstructionOnline offers a web-based, integrated approach to project management, project scheduling, and customer management. Designed for emerging construction businesses in the homebuilding and remodeling industries, the system allows users to remain apprised of all project changes and updates.

The solution includes Gantt chart style schedules, where tasks can quickly be converted into groups. The project management module provides photo management features, includes document control and helps with budgeting and cost management. The customer management program provides customized buyer portals, contract management, and home configuration.

Punch list items are automatically updated and shared complete with documents and photographs through a fully-integrated mobile application, and nothing falls through the cracks with the To Dos interface. 

The client portals feature helps customers view project calendars, approve upgrades, make change orders, and even see files and photos of their project through a secure, password-protected online portal. Each client interface is branded with the buyer’s company logo and color scheme, and the company retains complete control over what each client sees.

ConstructionOnline is available in a web-based format and is accessible on Mac and Android mobile devices. The system works well for small to medium-sized businesses and up to 50 users. ConstructionOnline is best suited for commercial and residential design and build firms, custom homebuilders, real estate developers, and residential remodelers.

    Organization of all aspects of project management into one place.

    Pros

    Ability to customize who can see what information. Redline Plannroom is full of wonderful features. The software integrates all of the aspects of construction project management into one tool.

    Cons

    Construction Online does not have the ability to "feather" revised drawings into an existing set of drawings.

    The program is very user friendly. The notifications that it is able to manage is very helpful. The capability to link with my customers as well as all the subcontractors is fantastic.

    Cons

    A general company storage file would be nice to have, actually it is vital to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of using Construction Online for my companies.

    Pros

    The user interface is a lot easier. Uploading files and adding clients/team members is significantly better.

    Cons

    The user interface feels not up to par with what i'm able to see. I wish the clients had more of same look that i have on my side.

    Construction Online has helped organize Core Contracting by using the technology of construction online. Construction Online is always improving, which is one thing I like so much. We are able to complete estimates, create dynamic schedule and connect with our customers using this one product.

    Cons

    When you use the product as designed, I don't see any negatives. I think scheduled ongoing training would eliminate allot of issues. Pick as section, get to know it, by using it, and then aim to learn another section anothertime

    I vetted PM software for 4 months and found Construction Online Commercial to have the most features that were on my essentials list. We heard that the customer service was good, and even at this early implementation stage, we have found it to be exceptional. We really look forward to implementation in the field for our production teams. Its mobile capabilities are just what we need.

    If you work in construction, then you should be using this software. It is completely construction focused and what the construction industry needs.

    Pros

    Their customer service is unbelievably good. If you have questions or don't understand something, they work with you until you do. I'm impressed by how much time and effort has gone into putting this platform together and their constantly willingness to listen to their customers for feedback.

    Cons

    For there most part, I love almost everything. I wish the ToDo lists and/or punch lists had the ability to repeat those items you do on a daily basis. At the moment that's all I can think of.

    The project and team management tools will be a huge asset to our system. I like the ability to create templates. I think the estimating is easy to use and very useful

    I would like to be able to have some initial set up control power on my end when setting up sub contractors. It's absolutely essential that I be able to pull up the estimating docs from the app, so as to cross reference different items. Simply looking at a pdf version is not the same. I think there should be a way to classify projects. For example, once a contract is signed I would turn the project over to live. At that point, the estimate can't be altered, only change orders created. Some of the projects we begin building will never turn into jobs, so they will only have the estimating portion done more than likely. I wouldn't want that project to count as an overall project and go against the total amount we are allowed. But I would want to be able to at least be able to estimate through the system so if it turns into a job, it can carry over. I also think it's really important to be able to use the scheduling system through the app. I wish there were more options to customize the estimate reports to look more professional.

    it collaborates with ConstructionSuite and that's a benefit but it's so glitchy and unreliable that it seems to make more work than it's worth. i am eager to find a WORKABLE solution.

    so much possibility! potentially very robust. the idea that all of these elements can be coalesced into one program is brilliant.
    customer support is very good but it's too bad that they have to be so involved. it would be better for the program to be cleanly developed and exhaustively tested so that the user could rely on the software instead of technical support. i tend to call or email tech support 4-5 times a week and they can generally help me solve the issue but this is a waste of time. i had hoped that ConstructionOnline would SAVE time...

    extremely glitchy. many unexplained complications that get brushed off as anomalous. the program does not live up to its potential

    I really appreciate their support. Whenever I call them with questions, they are excellent in wanting to make sure that my questions are taken care of. They also have training on their system on Utube which is excellent.

    Pros

    The ease of use of the software in putting together schedules, estimates, budgets, etc. I like the idea that it is on the cloud so that you can invite others users, customers to become a part of the scheduling system that provides information about their project without having to load software onto their company systems. With the use of the mobile phones, the mobile app is excellent for field people to see their schedules. The price of using the software is excellent and was hard to believe that you could provide this type of information to your customers.

    Cons

    There are a few things I would like to see in the software such as letting me know when a person, piece of equipment or something else is already scheduled for a job on those dates.

    Professional presentation of project information via reports is helpful

    I like the report generation, streamline processes, and ease of sharing...

    Cons

    Not seeing a true full screen of tables (particularly with estimating) - having to scroll L to R is annoying.
    The phone applications have "bugs" and often fail by crashing - I experience this the most with the photo application

    One thing we enjoy most with UDA is the customer service. If we ever have a question about the services we use, it is easy to find the answers. There are also multiple platforms that allow us to manage projects from many different perspectives.

    Cons

    There are very few things we do not like about UDA, but if we had to choose one thing, it would be that sometimes the software slows down in the middle of a command.

    Currently we see much of the program as a benefit. Some specifics are the ability to turn estimates into schedules so we can send to the field with notes to our superintendents.

    All in one solution for everything you need to run a successful construction company. Estimates, lead tracking, scheduling, you name it, it's in there or on its way to being implemented.

    Cons

    Still in development. App needs work still. Can't wait for everything to be fully functional. System makes you have an email address for every contact which is not the case for some if my clients.

    I like that you can keep track of what everyone is doing with out having to physically check on them at the job site.

    Cons

    The calendar could use some updates. A color legend would be nice so you could tell what schedule is associated with what project with out having to guess from the drop down screen. Also when you click into the scheduled task such as "clean up" you can not see what the project associated is either.


    Automatically sending a Game Plan if anyone's tasks are changed before the game plan 'renewal' date would be helpful as well instead of having to change the settings to a daily game plan.
