Fishbowl is a hybrid manufacturing and warehouse management solution designed for small and midsize companies. Key features include inventory control, material requirements planning (MRP), job shop floor control, work order management, manufacturer orders and bills of materials. The solution can either be deployed on-premise or hosted in the cloud.

Fishbowl also offers features such as barcoding, asset management, raw materials management, cycle counting, reporting, automated ordering and purchasing. It provides real-time updates on the stock level to multiple warehouses of an organization. The solution can predict inventory requirements based on sales trends and allows organizations to transfer stocks from one warehouse to other.

The solution also features automated batch and repair work orders based on lot tracking and serial number tracking. Fishbowl supports integration with e-commerce, shipping, merchant services and CRM systems such as QuickBooks, Magento, Shopify, Zencart and Salesforce.

Support is offered via email, phone and other online resources.

Definitely recommend Fishbowl

Implementing Fishbowl was 100% the right move to take our business to the next level in terms of efficiency, ability to report and evaluate data and make educated decisions about direction and growth.

Pros

We are a small business (14) with more than one location and in light manufacturing. This tool has helped improve the accuracy of our financials, allows us to see our true COGS, provides a process to prove parts from PO to sale or to the manufacturing process and ultimately to sale.
This was the right tool to move our business to the next level.

Cons

I can't yet say. I was responsible for set up and training, and we only implemented 10 days ago. Set up was laborious in that I had a lot of information to collect to build our database, but logical to use and with a super-solid support team. My support person was readily available, clear in his training/instruction and patient.

Manage your inventory and more with Fishbowl

Pros

This software was easy to use and easy to implement. The hardest part of the entire process was inputting our huge inventory into the system. Once we had a great method set up though, that part became easy. With the ability to scan barcodes, this program became our go to for inventory tracking. Would happily recommend this to anyone working in a warehouse who needs to keep track of all of their material.

Cons

I just wish that they had a cloud backup of all of the data we collect. Other than that, everything about this software has helped tremendously.

My overall experience was and continues to be great.

Pros

What I like most is the all encompassing nature of the program. All aspects of business are covered.

Cons

Great Customer Support

From the get-go, whenever I contacted Customer Support, I received helpful and patient techs who were able to walk me through any snag I encountered. What a pleasure!

Pros

From an Accounting vantage point, I really like the QB integration. After my Receiving Department receives and reconciles and item, I schedule FB to integrate overnight with QB and the next day, I'm ready to book my Payables!

Cons

My least favorite aspect of Fishbowl is the restriction to "undo". If my Receiving Department has marked a PO as "received" and later found that to be incorrect, its difficult if not impossible to undo that step.

Fish Bowl Reports Support

I have noticed over the past several months that FB is making many change to be more available to users that are having issues.

Pros

Fishbowls Reports division is a huge asset to Fishbowl user. Recently I had an issue with a FB report and Rep. from the reports team provided me with multiple creative solutions to my problem. I am out of the office a lot but rep. persistently followed up with me until we had a solution.

Cons

That the software doesn’t come with free Netflix subscription for life including multiple users....

good software but I need unlimited inventory number

Pros

The software are included all POS feature that is needed and very easy to learn and to use. The Matrix inventory item setup is very simple and not confusing. I would pick this POS over other if not the inventory number is limited.

Cons

We need to create more inventory item, but Fishbowl is capped the inventory item number and require customer to purchase high package to get more inventory item number available. If your industry is required many inventory items and keep on grow, you are better ask for the price before moving over to use Fishbowl.

Fishbowl capability

Fishbowl is a great for usage forecast and daily inventory management. I am in brewing industry so I can see the material usage forecast and I can plan my orders accordingly.

Pros

it is a great platform for inventory management system. it is great tool for a business who have annual turnover less than $100M I believe. it is a cloud base so easy to log in anywhere in to server. great for placing order, receiving inventory, consuming goods through work order.

Cons

Fishbowl is not an accounting software so if you willing to use fishbowl to reconcile inv and process the payment, I dont this it can be usable.

OK Software but Glaring Support Issues.

Great at signing you on, then difficult to get live. Customer support is under-staffed.

Pros

The accounting side is great. Shipping is pretty good.

Cons

Inventory allocation is difficult and there are basically no modern forecasting tools for ordering.
Self-help pages aren't much help and that is what you're constantly referred to instead of live help that would take 30 seconds to answer basic questions.

It is a great software and has many features. It is user friendly and customer support is great. The trial period was very helpful and allowed us to practice on hand.

Cons

It is not specific to food manufacturing, so it made it a little difficult to adjust. There are other software systems in the market that are specific to food manufacturing and ability to add recipes and change them, which fishbowl did not have.

Fantastic Inventory Tool, Great for eCommerce Sellers

I have only recently discovered Fishbowl but intend to purchase this software.

Pros

Fishbowl integrates with QuickBooks and is perfect for an eCommerce seller who uses Amazon and eBay to sell various items. Knowing what items sell fast and need to be a main focus in my inventory vs. which ones are slow movers is very helpful!!

Cons

I found nothing to dislike about Fishbowl.

Good but misses the mark for higher levels of controls

Very good. Though the software misses the mark for higher levels of controls, planning and visual tools in a manufacturing setting regarding material management to a product it should serve many companies who are on a budget and want a modern, growing MRP.

Pros

Simpler than many like MRP software. Fairly reasonable learning curve, good documentation and help files.
Good price points.
A progressive company that does seem to make a number of improvements regularly.
Great customer service and support.

Cons

Does not have a manufacturing scheduling system. There is no way, once an order is entered, to have cycle times of processes calculated for planning, logistics and proper coordination of multiple product paths for manufacturing.
Does not integrate with other common accounting software.
Some of the elements of the GUI could be learned easier by staff if there were some wizard guides and tutorials that one could turn on.
If you are already running Fishbowl and want to integrate with a "new to the company" compatible finance software, it is not too clear how to do and there is a lack of set-up help from the Fishbowl on this. Requires a fair amount of high technical skill to do; not too smooth.

it is a pretty good inventory system

it is very useful the fact that the program allows to have different virtual warehouses so we can keep track of returns or orders that are shipped from a different location than our main warehouse

very thorough and helpful training

We had an awesome 2-day training with the representative. He listened to all our concerns and questions and after the second day really hit all the points where we needed help with.

Pros

My favorite part of this software is the versatility of the program. There are many fields we can add to feed our needs.

Cons

the con I have mostly about fishbowl is the price to add more users. we are a big company and we need more users, however, it just doesn't make sense to me how expensive it is

Teaming up with CJ Global

Kenyon Flake was very helpful in training us on fishbowl. He showed us in depth how to create reporting and new functions we can use. He was able to answer all our questions as well as solutions to issues we were having.

Pros

Fish bowl is very is easy to navigate and to learn. On day one you are already become very productive in your job.

Cons

Wish our scanning was more at a case level. Right now when we pick it scans multiple boxes at once. This can lead to accidental miss picks

pretty helpful

i like the fact that we can scan the inventory in and out either per box/item or by quantity. also the locations modules is very helpful

Cons

unfortunately the program doesn't offer us the option to be able to scan different barcodes for the same SKU which makes receiving and shipping hard for us considering we have several case packs for the same item

Ordering and receiving are very easy to use.
Sales orders are easy to use.

Cons

Not very good interface, The reports is not easy to read and the export is very hard to read, it needs a lot of cleaning.
