Housecall Pro is a cloud-based field service management app for service professionals to automate their workflows. This solution includes a native mobile app and complementary web portal and serves a wide range of industries, such as cleaning, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and more.

Housecall Pro allows companies to forego paperwork in favor of digital automation. It offers features such as job scheduling, dispatching, payment processing, estimates, automated receipts and invoices, customer notifications, company chat, as well as postcard and email marketing automation.

Customers can book services via the HouseCall mobile app, communicate through a centralized messaging system and make online payments.

The mobile app can be accessed on both Android and iOS devices. There is a free version for single owner/operators, which offers many of the core features of the paid version. Premium pricing is based on the number of users, and an enterprise license is also available.

This solution is available across the U.S. and Canada.

    I enjoy using Housecall Pro. I like the ease of use, text to customer feature and many other options that it provides. I would recommend to other businesses.

    Pros

    My favorite feature of this software is how easily it allows your company to stay in contact with customers.

    Cons

    There are a few more options that can be added such as customizable templates for emails BEFORE a job (without existing estimate template)

    Pros

    Easy of use and customer feedback. The one thing my customers all say is they feel totally connected to the job with the notifications. The payment processing is seemless and has not failed once. 100% satisfaction.

    This is a good program to use if you have a small service company with less than 6 employees. They probably have one larger for larger companies as well but I haven't used it.

    Pros

    I like the fact that I can store all of my customers and manage my scheduling, payments, and advertising all in one place.

    Cons

    There were some issues with the mobile app. I wasn't able to combine invoices to create one easy payment method.

    Housecall Pro is the easiest system I have ever used. If you do have an issue or something you can't figure out. Someone will be there to answer anything within 5 min. There have been so many things that I just knew could not be done and they have proved me wrong every time. I can not say enough about the people that work there. They are incredible, always there to help, very pleasant.

    I've had this for over a year now and can't think of one thing that I don't like about it.

    Fantastic!

    Pros

    I switched to this software for it's time tracking capabilities, but had no idea it would be this great!

    Cons

    Sometimes the software can be a little fragmented, and visibility from a project management perspective can be near-sighted, but that isn't really what it was built to do so I'm not sure you can truly say this is a con.

    This is a very easy to use system. It's intuitive, elegant, and functional.

    I wish I could manipulate the time card functionality a lot easier. Putting people on different times for different things.

    I am one of the first customers:-) Using for my house cleaning company. These guys are really trying each and every time to improve to your satisfaction. The change they are doing are not hard to adapt. Small change do big difference . I know is hard to create 1 software for all but these guys are on the way to become the best in their industry. Highly recommend to try software. Ones you will implement you will never want to stop using it. Save you time in every way they can.

    Streamlines many functions and improves our office management efficiency.

    Pros

    Combines scheduling, invoice, estimates, notifications to the customer that the service tech is,on the way to their home, etc..

    Initially importing customer data. Wish we had this app when the business first started. So really no negatives.

    Overall my experience using Housecall Pro has been great. Easily the best software I've used to manage my business. Highly recommended!

    Housecall Pro is intuitive and easy to get started with. I love the options to automate communication with my clients, dispatch jobs to employees and accept payment directly through the app.

    Discussed that in the first box. Overall it makes our company look more professional and organized with customers and with employees. It's all of the part in growing your company. For me it's about safety of my techs.knowing where they are at all times. Maybe a button could be added where help is required at the job site causing dispatch to get in contact with tech or notify supervisor. The faster someone can respond the better in most situations. Especially emergency situations. Overall I'm satisfied with Housecall Pro.

    Pros

    The scheduling of techs. Each of the jobs are listed for each tech. Each tech can review the jobs and comments from the estimator and office. Each tech can plan their day out before the day starts from their phone. Emergency calls can be placed into their schedule. The customer knows when the tech is on their way. The office knows when the tech is on site. That is great from a safety and security stand point. Knowing where our workers are at all times could be critical. Just having as much information about the customer and neighborhood they are in before hand is really important to us as a team. Also the customer gets an invoice immediately after the job is done in digital form. Which allows for faster cashflow for the company and less non payments. Overall a great investment for your service company.

    Cons

    Would like to see better apps for the schedule for the tech that is bigger and less confessing. More graphs would be an asset to me. Especially from the phone/ app.

    Purely dispatching

    Pros

    I love how easy it is for my technicians to complete jobs and invoices are automatically sent to them! It’s awesoms!

    Cons

    Certain functions don’t work for convenience sake. 1 function is the copy and create invoice tool. I don’t think it’s possible to do that on mobile app. I wish it was because we help the same clients monthly and bill the same. Recurring invoice doesn’t work because the date changes when their cleaned. All I want is a copy and paste function like Quickbooks. The 2nd downside is the time tracking report isn’t visible to admins on mobile app.

    Pros

    Fingertip organization of a complications business. Teams works on it, developing it as their customers suggest improvements.

    The very best decision we made was going with this software. No regrets at all. We actually wish we had started with this from the beginning. I wish however they provided training at the beginning instead of us learning on our own. Maybe this is available but we did not reach out as we wanted to do it on our time and since we work outside of our business this needed to be done after their business hours.

    Pros

    We praise everything about this software and are amazed every day what it does do. We are still learning new things about it every day. The interactions with our accounting system is amazing. Makes life much easier.

    Cons

    The only issue I have and it is likely our own error is that it does not recognize out GST account in quickbooks and we receive daily errors of this and I am not able to fix. I need to reach out to them for help and I am sure they could fix it.

    I love being able top automate notifications top my customers. Also, being able to offer different means of payment easily accessible makes it even easier to get paid.

    Pros

    Customer service is fantastic! The webinars are easy to understand making it easy to figure out everything I need. The system in general, flows and is very user friendly.

    Cons

    I've only been using horse call pro for about a week. So far I haven't been able to find anything that really bothers me about.

    Inexpensive, relatively simple tool to manage a service business

    Its very effective at the main tasks of running any sort of service to the home type business. We transitioned over from a much more complicated and expensive tool. This saved us time and money.

    Pros

    Its relatively straight forward to learn and use
    Support is there and effective to help you get whatever needed fixed (dont need to rely on a help search tool, its real people)
    Relatively inexpensive for a small business.
    Credit card processing is more cost effective than most banks.

    Cons

    Its a business planning and execution tool. It doesnt have provisions for bid planning or a recommended outside tool approach.
    The price jump as you go beyond 5 users is pretty steep and you cant go back once you cross that size, regardless if your business needs to contract seasonally or not.
