Jobber Software


 

Jobber is a cloud-based field service and landscaping solution designed for small and midsize businesses. The solution offers features like scheduling, invoicing, a client database, quotes and more.

The scheduling module allows users to update jobs in real time, including information on progress and completion. Jobber can set up individual jobs or a recurring contract, assigning multiple employees on a single job. Jobber offers drag-and-drop functionality when moving appointments. Invoices are sent automatically via email and follow-ups are built in. Jobber partners with various electronic payment apps, such as Stripe and Paypal for all its transactions.

Jobber’s customer relationship management (CRM) module tracks contact information, and users can create custom fields, tags, attach files or phones and more. It links multiple properties under an account. All of this is connected back to the billing and work history.

Jobber offers services on a monthly subscription basis that includes support via email and through an online knowledge base.

This software keeps track of your customers current and past orders, stores signed agreements, helps with scheduling and even inventory of chemicals if you need it!

Cons

There are so many applications of this software that it was difficult to implement the software as we were working in our previous system. Once we got past the first few weeks the initial fear that we bit off more than we could chew was gone.

Good Short Term Solution for Small Businesses

I did a lot of research to find the best software for our small business and Jobber solved most of our problems, but created a few also. It's not flawless and it needs some improvements, but it's the best thing out there to help keep you and your team organized with jobs and reporting time.

Pros

Set up online payments, work order submissions, recurring jobs, etc.
Very user friendly, easy-to-use interface.
Modern design and looks good and feels good.
Instant chat is quick and people are fast to respond.

Cons

No good way to make product suggestions for software.
Customer service usually gives you a round about answer that doesn't solve your problem.
They implement new ideas, but it never seems like the ideas are coming from their customers.
Time sheet reports are only shown by time entry and not by day (making it VERY difficult to calculate overtime)
No way to easily download or access all photos taken and attached to jobs.

We love Jobber because their support is great and there product is great! Its been going on 4 years now and still no resolve on the notifications issue. Not even an update. WE NEED SMS AND EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS TO WORK PROPERLY! PLEASE!!!!!

The way it organises our daily processes. Without it we would just be another business

Notifying our customers that their service is due, is crucial to our success. Notification emails and sms are just not working correctly? Right now if you have anyone unassigned in the grid view while sending notifications, all of those people will receive notifications too, when they shouldn't! Only the people on the calendar who are scheduled for that day should get the notifications. My customers who are unassigned get pissed and call me telling me "I didnt schedule service for this date". Any other users of Jobber using the notifications via email or sms having the same problem? Please let me know if your having the same issues? The reports need work, There are limited reports and no ability to shell out to a custom report writing utility. Things like new activations, disconnections so you can track how many active customers and non active customers you have. Love the quote signing ability they just came up with, but it would be nice if they had a Check box that has to be clicked acknowledging they read the service terms. Forms are lacking for our pest control industry. An inspection report of the home/office needs to be dont to let the customer know the deficiencies that need to be corrected for proper pest management. Invoices are great!

Customer service is beyond appalling! Features that you pay for just don't work.

You can sign up and pay them money without ever speaking to anyone but when you want to cancel they say that you MUST call there office in the US and if you don't and your subscription expires, you have no access to your account. Meanwhile, your clients are still getting appointment emails and the program keeps going along without you able to stop it. Customer service is beyond appalling, you send a request and you get a response after 4-6 days with a question and then you have to wait another 4 -6 days for another one-line email with another question - it is beyond frustrating. Features I am paying for just don't work and it has been 8 weeks now and I am being asked the same questions over and over with no answers.

Pros

Absolutely nothing worth the price they are asking. Super expensive with features that just don't work and they don't seem to care.

Cons

I signed up because of the payroll and employee scheduling capabilities but it turns out that during my first QB sync that this doesn't work. It syncs employees time in at 5 hours earlier so I am having to manually input them every week. Appalling customer service - minimum 4 days to reply to emails (new person each time who asks the SAME questions over and over) its been 7 weeks and they haven't worked it out yet.

First off, we would like to apologize for all of the frustration you experienced with our team and the issues happening with time entries not properly syncing over to QuickBooks Online. What happened here is far from our goal at Jobber, which is to help people in small businesses be successful.

We took a look at the history of this issue and it looks like there were some communication issues between our Tier 1 and Tier 3 support team and a breakdown in our normal processes. We know our customers are busy people, so our goal is to provide quick solutions, and the fastest possible turnaround time when issues do occur. What happened with your issue is far from what we see as our standard of customer service, and we're very sorry this was your experience.

In terms of the timesheet syncing errors, our developers are still looking into what went wrong by working with the QuickBooks Online development team. This is an issue we haven't seen before, and we are working hard to understand the root of the problem. The goal of timesheet syncing is to save our customers time and guarantee accuracy, so we absolutely want to make sure this is resolved.

I would highly recommend for anyone running an HVAC business.

Pros

Easy to set up, we were up and running in about a week. Simple to use, training was couple of hours. It is reliable and saves me time every day.

Cons

There is a pretty big jump in price to switch plans and go to unlimited users. I can only have 10 employees in the system.

I really wanted to use it, but it just wasn't built for my type of business. However, to those that are in the field service realm, you will absolutely love what Jobber has created for you in this simple to use and feature-rich app.

Pros

The ease of use and seamless app interface really made it easy to get started and keep going without spending too much time setting up.

Cons

Despite the rich feature set and awesome functionality, it caters more to landscapers, painters, and general contractors (among others), and wasn't suitable for my chauffeured transportation service.

Cons

For a pest control company, they need to improve the chemicals management. They have some forms, and maybe there are not exactly what you are looking for and, for the moment you cannot customize them.

They work hard to give you a good costumer service and solve all your doubts very shortly. It is very very easy to use and the interface is very confortable.

Cons

We are a Pest Control Company and the software has a lack of some important things that a company like this needs, specially the reports. They have forms to manage and fill chemicals but unfortunately they are not quite useful.

Jobber is fairly easy to use once you've had it for a while. They payment integrations are fantastic and the workflow from quote to job completion is great as well.

Cons

This team is VERY unresponsive to feature requests. Basically, if you have a feature need they'll all but let you know that they are not interested in hearing about it. Simple things like being able to mark all tasks as complete are not available and when I requested it I was brushed off. I have been asking, for years, for a way to link Jobber to external "form builder" software so that when a user requests a quote from my website it shows up in Jobber. Hasn't happened. Also having to move an employee to "Pro" jsut so they can use the timesheet feature is just stupid.

JOBBER HAS IT ALL BUT FALL SHORT ON THE BASICS

The basics of what Jobber is built around is route scheduling and can do so much more. The basics of being able to simply organize routes while out in the field (like other apps offer) has been overlooked

Pros

Jobber is a great idea with excellent customer support. The support for this product is through the roof excellent! The overall programming is huge, you can do a ton of stuff with Jobber.

Cons

The Achilles heel is this; jobber is designed to be used as a route manager for administrators and employees. The idea is that an employee can load up his or her daily tasks and go to work. From an employee’s stand point that is easy enough. Click on the first job for the day and they are off . . . . .

First part of the problem we are experiencing with jobber is that if the employee is not within a good service area the photos and service notes for that home will not upload AND WILL NOT be kept in cue until the employee gets into a decent service range. If you have spotty service where your route is this will not work for you. You'll end up going back to paper logs.
FOR AN ADMINISTRATOR - jobber really sets up work nicely for the day, week, and month very nicely BUT has some really important short comings that you should be aware of PRIOR to starting this service..... As an administrator you cannot mass assign or unassign routes to and from employees. You cannot memorize the modifications to a daily route but one click.
JOBBER needs to be able to allow us to set up routes as a whole NOT just individual’s one at a time to create routes. FOR EXAMPLE: we need to be able to go into a master list of clients, click and drag those clients into a “MONDAY A” route and or a “MONDAY B” route and the same for Tuesday and Wednesday etc. etc. . . . . if we want to make changes to a route as a single entity we should be able to do that as opposed to what we have to do now which is change each individual client to be on a different day one at a time for the next 6 months and or 10 years
FOR EXAMPLE, we have three routes per day each route has approximately 20 visits. If an employee calls in sick and we need to reassign 20 visits to another employee we have to do it manually for EACH CLIENT as opposed to just reassigning and entire route to another employee.

WHAT WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL AND CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FROM JOBBER, would be to adjust routes on the "map" page and have it ask us if we want to memorize the reorganization of that route for all future visits or just that one day. The way that it is limited requires me to go in and manually change EVERY JOB ONE BY ONE to the route organization. This process takes approximately 1 to 2 entire minutes to complete depending on whether or not the visits are reoccurring for the next 6 months or six years . . . . . 1 to 2 minutes times 20 minutes obviously doesn’t work for any administrator at all.....the only way around this is to make the changes daily or weekly which is labor intensive and your will be paying for this each time your employee has to redo the routes.

Overall, this is the best program IMO of the 4 or 5 I tried while looking for something that would work for my business. Customer support is great. And I like some of the different ways I can customize information for unusual jobs that come up from time to time.

Pros

The ability to generate quotes, then turn them into jobs, and once completed into invoices, and do it with minimal steps. This frees up time for me to focus on building new business, and enables my employees to do some of what I used to have to do. Also useful is the ability to attach notes both to a customers information, as well as to individual jobs, which is useful for both passing on special requests a customer may have for all jobs, as well as information that is specific to a particular job.

Cons

The program rounds financial numbers slightly different than accounting programs such as QBO. Which means that when we sync to QBO, there are often several minor corrections of 0.01 cent that need to be done. Would be nice to see that changed.

I would also like to see an email notification 'OPTION' where customers would be notified if a job was skipped. There should also be a section for the reason why it was skipped. We should be able to make these reasons whatever we want in the settings... THIS IS HUGE!

The amount of time I spend notifying clients we have skipped a lawn cut due to "Minimal growth" or "The lawn too wet to cut" or "Cannot access the back lawn"...

This is such an important need of ours. I want to use Jobber for the next 30 years but if these changes do not happen we may create our own program one day - I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT!

OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND JOBBER TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP WITH SCHEDULING & INVOICING!

I like the fact that Jobber will not allow you to forget about any jobs, quotes, & most importantly invoices...
The invoices are very professional looking. The ease of use of the software is awesome! The help/support there for you from their team is 10 out of 10/Tops/ the best! It does NOT get better as far as customer service goes...

Cons

I would like to see us be able to "Bold, italic, underline, etc" the fonts in invoices, jobs, everything! We should be able to format the font the same way we can in say - Google email!

This is a great product for a small, startup business or a business that is just getting started with a digital workflow system.

Pros

This software has a nice, simple interface which is easy to use and navigate. It does not require a bunch of setup to start using it. The cost is a great value for what you get based on our research of other products.

Cons

Intuitive. It acts as our main program during the day. Jobs closed are billed in real time. Saves time and effort. It is also helpful to be able to tag a message to the client.

Jobber really provides us with everything that we need for client services in the field. There isn't a single feature that jobber has that we don't get benefits from.

Pros

Jobber helps us manage so many different field staff in one place. They are always updated and trying to improve their product. We like that field staff schedules, client invoices and staff time-sheets are all in one place and easy to use.

Cons

The reporting is a little lacking and sometimes when we have issues it feels like customer support is saying good luck chuck, we understand that they can't fix every problem but there has to be a way to say "sorry we can't help" and not make your clients feel like you breezed over them. The reporting is really their biggest area for improvement.

All functions are in one area such as: Scheduling, Reminders, Billing, Links to QBO. Has a mobile app for employees which allows clock in and clock out and it tracks via GPS. Awesome to be in the known of employees during working hours.

Cons

Jobber does not have an open API. Does not link to Quality Driven Software or many other software's. This is a true bummer because most software's have the ability and are open to connecting with other applications.

The best thing about Jobber has been the way it has changed what used to be a tedious, time-sucking chore into an effective, painless process. I'm more organized, and our customers benefit from it. They love that they are reminded of upcoming visits and can receive and pay invoices electronically. Brilliant!

I would love the app to evolve in-pace with the desktop version. It is sometimes hard for me to communicate how to do something effectively to app users, because I'm only accessing Jobber via the office computer.

Will change your business forever

Pros

This application is amazing. It allows us to schedule jobs for our employees and track their location/expenses with ease. We can see job costing for each project and quickly understand which jobs are most profitable and cut out jobs that have a smaller profit margin. The app also lets us send invoices and estimates to a customer. Once the customer accepts the estimate, we click one button to schedule the visit and then one more button to create an invoice. It will automatically send payment reminders to customers. This automates many of the processes that we have always manually completed. This frees us up to focus on closing deals. We like being able to create invoices and collect payment immediately. This used to be about a 30 day process for us and now it all gets done same day. If you ever have a questions the online help chat option is very fast. They are able to help me with any issue or question I have within in minutes. It did not take us or our employees using the app to learn this software. Previously we were using all paper and were worried about the transition to the phones, but our employees picked up on it the first week and are enjoying it. Our customers are actually happy to receive electronic invoice and have the capability to pay their bill immediately online. Within the first week we received several positive feedbacks.

Cons

0 cons. 1 thing I will say is that it did take us a little while to find our method to schedule. We do have about 3 crews going out every day with 10-20 appointments each. It would be great if there a way to be able to split up the days into sections that reflect each crew. But scheduling is far easier than our previous method.

Since incorporating JOBBER as a CRM and Job management tool we have been able to streamline our processes and increase our close rate substantially. NO MORE DOUBLE ENTRY from Excel to Quickbooks. Now we can sync with QB online with ease saving time.

Pros

Extremely intuitive and easy to use with little to no onboarding required although offered. Support is VERY responsive and takes feedback to improve software. Keeps getting better - product updates regularly with great enhanced, useful features.

Cons

App can be buggy at times. Online payments only accept credit cards. Limited customization for quotes/invoices. Calendar interface could use some improvement but functional for the average user.

Great organizer to keep my meetings in order; The coolest part is that my clients can put themselves on my schedule. It helps me organize my appointments and makes me look very sharp and professional.

Cons

Sometimes the app will freeze on you , but I don't see that as a big deal. The benefits and the cost far outweigh any negatives, which negatives are almost non-existent.

I can have as many users as I want so everyone is in the loop with regard to their installations. Eliminates the paper trail and babysitting the installers making sure they know what they are supposed to do - it is always live information. I can still print out daily sheets for the installers if needed. The software is easy to use, easy to learn, easy to maneuver and very cost effective.

Cons

This isn't really a con, but there are many features that I don't use at all. I wish that when I change something that has already been entered that the new information appears everywhere.

Field staff are able to easily track time in their mobile apps. Client hub is starting to be a valuable tool, it needs work though.

Cons

You can't chat with field workers on their apps. It's difficult to bill from the mobile app. The time sheets don't properly sync with quickbooks. You can't sync your own/bank merchant account to jobber payments. Refunds take 5 days to process, you can't issue partial refunds, or take partial payments. you can't mark an invoice partially paid (construction typically does a 7% hold back of funds) It's tough to see which invoices are still outstanding. Payments do not automatically apply to invoices in quickbooks. No way to edit outline of client reminders to not include appointment times- we would like to only include appointment dates. You can't issue a credit on an invoice. you can't see aged receivables by client. You can't set individual staff availability ie; some needs monday off so it's blocked out. Instead, you have to enter a basic task and complete/delete it so your calandar doesn't get bogged down. You cant batch complete tasks jobs-need to auto complete late visits. you can't set individual payment terms for different types of clients - (one that would be really helpful, would be if issued before a day of the month, its due the following month on a day. needs an hr area for staffing meetings and notes. Clients don't like how they're currently accessing client hub- one suggestion would be a mobile app or a save to favorites button which is easily recognized by clients.

Desktop version is okay to use. The color coding of jobs and keywords was helpful. I like that you can add photos to jobs.

Cons

App does not work well and takes quite a while to sync with desktop input. Also can't schedule quotes as calendar events, and can't merge clients. Ultimately was not user friendly and did not work for us. Now they are saying we cannot get any amount of refund which is absolutely ridiculous. We used it for less than a month.

Pros

The website is easy to navigate.

Employees can easily see their jobs in mobile app.

Entering client & job info is a breeze even for new employees.

Live chat is available and the issues I have had have been easily solved via live chat.

Quotes are easy to find in the system and can easily be converted into jobs with minimal or no extra data entry.

Invoicing is easy and seamlessly integrates with quickbooks.

Once I turn on Jobber payments, customers will have a very easy way to pay their bill that is just as simple as PayPal (our current payment platform).

I can tag clients into any kind of group I can think of. The biggest way we will use tagging is for delinquent Invoice customers (we are blessed not to have many). Any employee who tries to enter a new job for a client in this category will see a tag reminding us to get paid for past work before agreeing to a new job. There are ways to track past due invoices but not all employees can see that info.

Automatic emails and sms templates in Jobber can be easily customized for our business needs.

Automatic customer reminder emails and sms is awesome way for customers to remember appointments.

Customers via email link in their quote can request quote changes.

Customers via email link in their quote can accept a quote and sign-off on it which makes converting a quote into a job very easy. Notification of an approved quote is emailed to me and the dashboard in the program notifies me.

Cons

Can't do line item discounting on quotes...customers like to see normal price next to discount price....also certain items on a quote need a discount without discounting the entire quote....currently a discount can only be shown after the subtotal and the discount will apply to the entire quote, discounting labor before discounting a taxable item.

Can't send generic quotes easily...sometimes we want to put several options on a single quote but the program tallies all the dollar amounts together and puts an outrageous total at the bottom...we have lost business due to a customer looking at the "total amount" of a quote and freaking out because they don't realize the quote tallied all the options together.

Can't make job forms mandatory for employees to complete before closing out a job thus making it harder to hold employee responsible when certain details are missed in a process.

Products and services reports can be skewed on the dollar amounts because again sometimes discounts are applied on an invoice but Jobber only allows for a discount on the subtotal (rather than line item)...this makes it hard to get an accurate dollar amount when doing reporting on specific items we sell. As far as I can see, Jobber reports will not take into account discounts given during a specific period of time.

The automatic quote follow up feature can only be viewed on main website. There is currently no way to make it visible to an assigned employee on the mobile app.

We are a much more organized team with this software. It keeps track of all of our documents, maps, estimates, invoices, order forms etc that used to be spread all over the office, in a stack of papers to be filed or in a paper file that no one ever bothered to look at. We are much more easily able to quote and retrieve quotes and send them to our customers in a really professional looking e-mail. It's great to have the scheduling work with the client database and the invoicing software...it really just make the whole client process quite seamless.

Pros

Hard question as there is SO MUCH I like. The scheduling is great as the calendar is really easy to work with and has customization features. It works excellent for just one or a whole team of people. The quoting feature is phenomenal and was revolutionary for our business. Not only can we now easily keep track of quotes and attach maps and other docs to the quotes, the whole quote and attachments are converted to the job when we close. Life changing. Notes and such no longer get lost as paper copies and our team is ALL informed of what is going on with a job. Jobber also generates a reminder for us to follow up with the customer a couple of days after the quote, which is quite handy. Jobber automatically sends 2 reminders to our clients that we are coming out, which they love and makes us look great! The guys have the ability to map the property with a push of one button and send a quick "on our way" text message to the customer. Customer service is always a phone call or chat away and everyone is always fantastic and super helpful. I love all the custom fields to store serial numbers, customer details and lots of notes. The tags are also very helpful to sort customers into different categories for easy reference. Overall, Jobber is definitely one of the best things we've done for our business. I highly recommend.

Cons

I wish the app had similar functionality to the desktop; however, strides towards this have definitely been made in the past year. I would like "estimate" to be added like a task, event or job, blending the features of a job (reminders sent) and task (no invoicing necessary). I would like transferable fields to be more customizable by me and more flexible overall. I would LOVE to be able to start with one customer service person and finish the issue all the way through with them instead of switching if the issue takes a bit of time. I would love to be able to add automatic follow up and templated e-mail follow up based on category of job. It would be nice to have the option of paying Jobber Payment fees monthly instead of per transaction. All of these things are so minor, but would be helpful to change/add.

Cons

Have a delete button directly on the invoice, usually you have to go invoice - then edit, then delete. Be able to send an email to every email attached to the customers profile.
