Jobber Software


 

Jobber is a cloud-based field service and landscaping solution designed for small and midsize businesses. The solution offers features like scheduling, invoicing, a client database, quotes and more.

The scheduling module allows users to update jobs in real time, including information on progress and completion. Jobber can set up individual jobs or a recurring contract, assigning multiple employees on a single job. Jobber offers drag-and-drop functionality when moving appointments. Invoices are sent automatically via email and follow-ups are built in. Jobber partners with various electronic payment apps, such as Stripe and Paypal for all its transactions.

Jobber’s customer relationship management (CRM) module tracks contact information, and users can create custom fields, tags, attach files or phones and more. It links multiple properties under an account. All of this is connected back to the billing and work history.

Jobber offers services on a monthly subscription basis that includes support via email and through an online knowledge base.

Cons

If you are on a Pest Control company, you can no use it , I mean, you can, but there are so a lack of properly reports that I don't recommend it

Customer service usually doesn't have a solution to a problem.
The only way to make suggestions for improvements is to speak with customer service and they usually tell you that it would be a major change and not likely to happen.

Pros

Works well for scheduling and assigning jobs to techs in the field. Good for communicating information, files and attachments to individual jobs.

Cons

When entering an new address, it auto-populates the city and state and, in most cases, is incorrect. Very annoying and no way to turn this off.
No way to easily download or access all photos taken and attached to jobs.
No way to change/correct a property address in a job. The only way to do this is to delete the job and start over. Not a good solution if you have already assigned visits, attached files and added notes to the job.
Supposed to sync with QBs. It does to an extent, but not being to map items to match fields in QBs, becomes rather useless. The only thing I can sync with QBs are the clients information.

Easy to use and learn. I can get my new people singed in and using the app very quickly and within a few days they are using it like a pro

Does not handles overtime very well. Also, when we receive a partial payment it still shows the total invoice amount on reports

Cons

This program is unable to handle third-party tracking for commercial accounts this is strictly a residential product for somebody moes lawns. I didn't like anything about this program. Customer service constantly gave us the wrong and run around answer.

This software keeps track of your customers current and past orders, stores signed agreements, helps with scheduling and even inventory of chemicals if you need it!

Cons

There are so many applications of this software that it was difficult to implement the software as we were working in our previous system. Once we got past the first few weeks the initial fear that we bit off more than we could chew was gone.

Good Short Term Solution for Small Businesses

I did a lot of research to find the best software for our small business and Jobber solved most of our problems, but created a few also. It's not flawless and it needs some improvements, but it's the best thing out there to help keep you and your team organized with jobs and reporting time.

Pros

Set up online payments, work order submissions, recurring jobs, etc.
Very user friendly, easy-to-use interface.
Modern design and looks good and feels good.
Instant chat is quick and people are fast to respond.

Cons

No good way to make product suggestions for software.
Customer service usually gives you a round about answer that doesn't solve your problem.
They implement new ideas, but it never seems like the ideas are coming from their customers.
Time sheet reports are only shown by time entry and not by day (making it VERY difficult to calculate overtime)
No way to easily download or access all photos taken and attached to jobs.

We love Jobber because their support is great and there product is great! Its been going on 4 years now and still no resolve on the notifications issue. Not even an update. WE NEED SMS AND EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS TO WORK PROPERLY! PLEASE!!!!!

Notifying our customers that their service is due, is crucial to our success. Notification emails and sms are just not working correctly? Right now if you have anyone unassigned in the grid view while sending notifications, all of those people will receive notifications too, when they shouldn't! Only the people on the calendar who are scheduled for that day should get the notifications. My customers who are unassigned get pissed and call me telling me "I didnt schedule service for this date". Any other users of Jobber using the notifications via email or sms having the same problem? Please let me know if your having the same issues? The reports need work, There are limited reports and no ability to shell out to a custom report writing utility. Things like new activations, disconnections so you can track how many active customers and non active customers you have. Love the quote signing ability they just came up with, but it would be nice if they had a Check box that has to be clicked acknowledging they read the service terms. Forms are lacking for our pest control industry. An inspection report of the home/office needs to be dont to let the customer know the deficiencies that need to be corrected for proper pest management. Invoices are great!

You can sign up and pay them money without ever speaking to anyone but when you want to cancel they say that you MUST call there office in the US and if you don't and your subscription expires, you have no access to your account. Meanwhile, your clients are still getting appointment emails and the program keeps going along without you able to stop it. Customer service is beyond appalling, you send a request and you get a response after 4-6 days with a question and then you have to wait another 4 -6 days for another one-line email with another question - it is beyond frustrating. Features I am paying for just don't work and it has been 8 weeks now and I am being asked the same questions over and over with no answers.

Pros

Absolutely nothing worth the price they are asking. Super expensive with features that just don't work and they don't seem to care.

Cons

I signed up because of the payroll and employee scheduling capabilities but it turns out that during my first QB sync that this doesn't work. It syncs employees time in at 5 hours earlier so I am having to manually input them every week. Appalling customer service - minimum 4 days to reply to emails (new person each time who asks the SAME questions over and over) its been 7 weeks and they haven't worked it out yet.

First off, we would like to apologize for all of the frustration you experienced with our team and the issues happening with time entries not properly syncing over to QuickBooks Online. What happened here is far from our goal at Jobber, which is to help people in small businesses be successful.

We took a look at the history of this issue and it looks like there were some communication issues between our Tier 1 and Tier 3 support team and a breakdown in our normal processes. We know our customers are busy people, so our goal is to provide quick solutions, and the fastest possible turnaround time when issues do occur. What happened with your issue is far from what we see as our standard of customer service, and we're very sorry this was your experience.

In terms of the timesheet syncing errors, our developers are still looking into what went wrong by working with the QuickBooks Online development team. This is an issue we haven't seen before, and we are working hard to understand the root of the problem. The goal of timesheet syncing is to save our customers time and guarantee accuracy, so we absolutely want to make sure this is resolved.

Pros

Easy to set up, we were up and running in about a week. Simple to use, training was couple of hours. It is reliable and saves me time every day.

Cons

There is a pretty big jump in price to switch plans and go to unlimited users. I can only have 10 employees in the system.

I really wanted to use it, but it just wasn't built for my type of business. However, to those that are in the field service realm, you will absolutely love what Jobber has created for you in this simple to use and feature-rich app.

Pros

The ease of use and seamless app interface really made it easy to get started and keep going without spending too much time setting up.

Cons

Despite the rich feature set and awesome functionality, it caters more to landscapers, painters, and general contractors (among others), and wasn't suitable for my chauffeured transportation service.

Jobber is fairly easy to use once you've had it for a while. They payment integrations are fantastic and the workflow from quote to job completion is great as well.

Cons

This team is VERY unresponsive to feature requests. Basically, if you have a feature need they'll all but let you know that they are not interested in hearing about it. Simple things like being able to mark all tasks as complete are not available and when I requested it I was brushed off. I have been asking, for years, for a way to link Jobber to external "form builder" software so that when a user requests a quote from my website it shows up in Jobber. Hasn't happened. Also having to move an employee to "Pro" jsut so they can use the timesheet feature is just stupid.

JOBBER HAS IT ALL BUT FALL SHORT ON THE BASICS

The basics of what Jobber is built around is route scheduling and can do so much more. The basics of being able to simply organize routes while out in the field (like other apps offer) has been overlooked

Pros

Jobber is a great idea with excellent customer support. The support for this product is through the roof excellent! The overall programming is huge, you can do a ton of stuff with Jobber.

Cons

The Achilles heel is this; jobber is designed to be used as a route manager for administrators and employees. The idea is that an employee can load up his or her daily tasks and go to work. From an employee’s stand point that is easy enough. Click on the first job for the day and they are off . . . . .

First part of the problem we are experiencing with jobber is that if the employee is not within a good service area the photos and service notes for that home will not upload AND WILL NOT be kept in cue until the employee gets into a decent service range. If you have spotty service where your route is this will not work for you. You'll end up going back to paper logs.
FOR AN ADMINISTRATOR - jobber really sets up work nicely for the day, week, and month very nicely BUT has some really important short comings that you should be aware of PRIOR to starting this service..... As an administrator you cannot mass assign or unassign routes to and from employees. You cannot memorize the modifications to a daily route but one click.
JOBBER needs to be able to allow us to set up routes as a whole NOT just individual’s one at a time to create routes. FOR EXAMPLE: we need to be able to go into a master list of clients, click and drag those clients into a “MONDAY A” route and or a “MONDAY B” route and the same for Tuesday and Wednesday etc. etc. . . . . if we want to make changes to a route as a single entity we should be able to do that as opposed to what we have to do now which is change each individual client to be on a different day one at a time for the next 6 months and or 10 years
FOR EXAMPLE, we have three routes per day each route has approximately 20 visits. If an employee calls in sick and we need to reassign 20 visits to another employee we have to do it manually for EACH CLIENT as opposed to just reassigning and entire route to another employee.

WHAT WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL AND CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE FROM JOBBER, would be to adjust routes on the "map" page and have it ask us if we want to memorize the reorganization of that route for all future visits or just that one day. The way that it is limited requires me to go in and manually change EVERY JOB ONE BY ONE to the route organization. This process takes approximately 1 to 2 entire minutes to complete depending on whether or not the visits are reoccurring for the next 6 months or six years . . . . . 1 to 2 minutes times 20 minutes obviously doesn’t work for any administrator at all.....the only way around this is to make the changes daily or weekly which is labor intensive and your will be paying for this each time your employee has to redo the routes.

Overall, this is the best program IMO of the 4 or 5 I tried while looking for something that would work for my business. Customer support is great. And I like some of the different ways I can customize information for unusual jobs that come up from time to time.

Pros

The ability to generate quotes, then turn them into jobs, and once completed into invoices, and do it with minimal steps. This frees up time for me to focus on building new business, and enables my employees to do some of what I used to have to do. Also useful is the ability to attach notes both to a customers information, as well as to individual jobs, which is useful for both passing on special requests a customer may have for all jobs, as well as information that is specific to a particular job.

Cons

The program rounds financial numbers slightly different than accounting programs such as QBO. Which means that when we sync to QBO, there are often several minor corrections of 0.01 cent that need to be done. Would be nice to see that changed.

I would also like to see an email notification 'OPTION' where customers would be notified if a job was skipped. There should also be a section for the reason why it was skipped. We should be able to make these reasons whatever we want in the settings... THIS IS HUGE!

The amount of time I spend notifying clients we have skipped a lawn cut due to "Minimal growth" or "The lawn too wet to cut" or "Cannot access the back lawn"...

This is such an important need of ours. I want to use Jobber for the next 30 years but if these changes do not happen we may create our own program one day - I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT!

OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND JOBBER TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS HELP WITH SCHEDULING & INVOICING!

I like the fact that Jobber will not allow you to forget about any jobs, quotes, & most importantly invoices...
The invoices are very professional looking. The ease of use of the software is awesome! The help/support there for you from their team is 10 out of 10/Tops/ the best! It does NOT get better as far as customer service goes...

Cons

I would like to see us be able to "Bold, italic, underline, etc" the fonts in invoices, jobs, everything! We should be able to format the font the same way we can in say - Google email!

I really liked the concept, features and possibilities but a lot of what we needed was not available as of yet.

Cons

Customer service was great and would take note but nothing much they could do if the feature was not available. I ended up spending so much time with tutorials and customer service that it ended up just being too time consuming and so It was frustrating because I was constantly spending so much time with the program.

Cons

No longer missing to bill customers, an easy way to retain the history of repeated jobs with photos. Too many advantages to list. I love Jobber

This is the best most comprehensive and versatile work program I have used and I have used over 15.

Easy app for on site workers to log in and out

Being able to create a variety of properties for each client (agent),

retains a history of visits with photos and notes

Create checklists for each job that can be downloaded or emailed to the clients

Reminders to invoice set to after job completed or set date. And a one off job or one with multiple visits.

Continually adding great new functionality so that the software is always evolving where most systems are stagnant. The Cons I am sure will be added soon. I love Jobber and the helpful friendly team.

Sms job details in Australia as young people don't use email usually
Suggest: if sms is not possible one Week Sheet instead of Day Sheet with all jobs for the week instead of multiple emails.

Not being able to easily see that everyone is on the job.
Suggest: a green button with location lets me see if staff have turned up on time.

But Jobber has so many other fantastic features that I wouldn't consider any other program

We like just about everything. It allows appointment email reminders to clients, the client hub allows clients to view their account, our techs use the option to add notes & pictures to the job so nothing is missed, when the techs arrive & leave jobs we can track their time, customers can pay invoices online, the software syncs to quickbooks easily; there are many more things available that we do use and some we haven't used yet.

Cons

On the accounting side of the software there is no way to create a credit memo or credit balance & sync to quickbooks. We include tax in our prices and there is no option to show that on the invoice - only an option for tax exempt.

EVERYTHING ! Seriously, What's not to love about this program? Scheduling, billing, invoicing, customer emails, quotes, auto billing, auto invoicing, the list goes on and on. I have been with this company for a while now and have gotten to see how this software has grown from almost the ground floor. There has been nothing slight of astounding as the updates just keep on coming and the software just keeps getting better and better. I am so glad I was able to be here to see this company and software grow and come into what Jobber is today. A great program designed AROUND the user with all the input from us to get the add-ons and updates we need, Thanks guys for the years of backed support and help for all of us out here !!

Cons

I have used the program for quite a few years now and have not come across anything that I would take as a con to this program at all.

Pros

The new term view is my favourite feature of the app. Also the address / map function is good for operatives to find jobs.

Cons

Sometimes it's not clear if invoices have been raised for jobs which results in raising a second invoice for the same job!

Team management made simpler. More detail captured on every job. Invoicing is a breeze. Customer follow up is now automated.

Pros

Visually it allows us to track and schedule jobs while the entire team watches and ensures there is no wasted time in our day

Cons

The Xero compatibility is simple but does not allow for specific items to be synced and we have to edit entries in Xero so we can track correctly

Runs all of our CRM. A real time saver.

Pros

Very flexible and robust while still being easy to learn and teach others how to use. Jobber has a good balance of features while still not having so many options that the system is too complex.

Cons

Like most software, there are some legacy inconsistencies on naming conventions and design as new features are implemented.

It saves me SO MUCH TIME!!!

Pros

It's intuitive. I don't have to try to figure out how things work; if I just use it the way it makes sens, it works for me.
With the new feature - team view - I can schedule a job on the fly without switching back and forth between employee schedules.

Cons

Only one small complaint, that there's probably already a solution for that I'm not aware of: When I drag a cleaning from one time slot to another, it doesn't automatically go to the hour, quarter-hour... So if I have it set for 8AM and I want to move it to 9AM, it will often end up with a start time of 8:59 or 9:03. Something random like that.

I love that I can track my future ordering of products based on the jobs I put on the schedule. The colors really help me be able to see where my employees are and enhance the overall scheduling feature. You can track your employees and where they are during the day just to see if you can add another job while they are in that area. You can add notes or documents onto each job/contact and this is just my go to for everything. You will not regret purchasing Jobber, every time that I had a question someone (not a robot) was always there for me. It very user friendly... I could go on forever``` thanks Jobber for helping my business grow, because of your organization I have been able to focus my attention on other areas of my business... :)

Cons

When I schedule a job for three different employees I should be able to add them and all of their colors show up on the schedule.

I'm not going to take it away from jobber completely. Your customer service is awesome. They are super friendly, it got great attitudes. They answer the phones all the time. Except when they're in meetings anyway. But regardless they're very good at getting back with you and finding you good answers. Also, their user interface while I have a problem with a few things, for the most part is super super simple and intuitive. They are very good if you're a small business. But that's the problem. Is that where you're wanting to stay? I didn't think about it for years ago when I started. And now I kind of wish that I didn't. But I'll get to that here in a second.

Cons

Their data export is horrible. If you want to see a clear picture of where your calls are coming from, you have to download for 5 files and concatenate them all and try to piecemeal them together to understand and have a full database file of your own clients. Honestly, that stinks. They don't give you an API, because they say that the one that they had slow down their servers and they don't want to offer that level of service to small businesses. Do you see what I mean? If your small they'll do business with you, but if you want to grow, they're not willing to go there.
So, if you want to grow, don't go with jober. Instead go with single Ops. They have an API.
This may not mean a lot to you now, but once you start dumping high amount a month in advertising, you absolutely want to know where every single call is coming from. If you don't, you end up wasting thousands of dollars a month.
And jobber will not give you the API. Worse, they could give you an API on a limited basis. For example they could limit it to Tim queries a day. That would not slow down their server significantly. But they don't. And that stinks. So you get all of this investment training all of your people with a specific system, and then once you start growing you have to leave. For this reason, I wish I would have gone with single Ops II begin with.

I like that fact that all three of our sales reps are able to go on a potential job site and quote our product on the spot. It not only makes it easier for the reps by calculating the costs by sqft and discounts, but it is a HUGE benefit to the office staff who can pull up those same quotes in an instance so that everybody is on the same page.

Cons

There needs to be a way to automate a follow-up email sent to a lead that receives a quote from us after a few days. I know there is a current function to send follow-up emails after a project is completed, but it would be much more efficient to have one sent after the quote to follow up on potential business. I also wish there was an ability to put together contracts through Jobber based on what items were included in the quote.

Pros

Recurring Scheduling is easy to set up, having multiple calendars viewable for each of our team members, great integration with iOS phone calls.

Cons

Needs better integration with Square payments (would like to have the option to pay via square in the jobber app itself), be able to choose between iOS phone app and SIP phone apps for calls.

It's a good software that works for me and I have to work with it. Scheduling, reminders, easy to use. Cost is on point

Cons

Mobile app can be more user friendly, Billing has many holes. Can't accept multiple invoices at once and can't take half cash and have a credit card. Ok reporting but could be better. Doesn't shows an audit on each account like housecall pro. I like to know who did what with my customer account. But housecall pro can't offer multiple property Management houses like jobber does.

Ease of use! I use the software everyday. I can basically do everything I need right from Jobber. Scheduling, receipt logging, time sheets, invoicing, you name it.

Cons

Would love a drag and drop feature unscheduled tasks/job. Also a customizable blocked schedule, say in two hour increments, with the same drag and drop capabilities.
