Pros/Cons
Pros
- The build-in addons are a huge win. From my perspecitve one of the best choices you can do as a system adminsitrator if you want to deploy a software like nextcloud.
- The interface for a free and open source app is amazing. I love the ability to customize the login screen and it integrates well with Active Directory.
- The best opensource software to store and share your files. Numerous add-ons, version 20 is very good.
Cons
- The risk for conflicting versions if using desktop client, but this may be soved in version 18 as you can locck the file while editing.
- And it is really tempting to add them. But this constitutes a weakness at the same time, because no one guarantees you that these apps will work with the next update of the software.
- What can be bad when you are in complete control over your own data.
Pros
- This is hands down the best program/app of its kind. The ability to share and sync data between different computers regardless of OS is brilliant.
- I enjoy that I can share folders located anywhere on my PC. The backup "archive" feature is wonderful at ensuring any changes/deletions can be mitigated if unwanted.
- So far it has been awesome and does exactly what it says it will do.
Cons
- Insultingly, amazingly, brutally awful. Might as well come with a caveat emptor label.
- Resilio will try (and fail) to synchronize them, and some computers will end up thinking they're missing files from the share.
- It's almost useless if you're just sync-ing or transferring files to 1 or 2 sites.
